Health and Safety comment:
Judicial report: Weather: Overcast A Stewards investigation under Rule 38.1(b)into the Selection Criteria applied to Race 4 on the programme at the AGRC race meeting held on 05.03.06 was reconvened. This investigation resulted from an objection lodged by the Trainer of Thrilling Affair (first reserve) K Walsh and on behalf of G.E.Harding. The Stewards had received a written statement from the Racing Manager, GRNZ and today sought the presence of and further information from both Mr Harding and Mr Death, General Manager of the AGRC.
The Stewards have reserved their decision.

Race 8. The race performance of Forever Running was discussed with Trainer G.J.Noakes and his comments noted. Mr Noakes was advised by Stewards that this greyhound's immediate performances will be monitored very closely.

Race 10. Handler, S.C.Mann received a warning under Rule 71.2 (reporting late for pre race presentation).

Race 1 | GREYHOUNDS AS PETS DASH - C2 - 318 | Mac McLeod ran inwards at the start and checked Roulette Reason which rebounded inwards and checked Brandalyn Bale. A post race veterinary examination of Brandalyn Bale detected an injury requiring a 14 day stand down from racing. Nearing the first turn Foreign Diplomat, Ina Tizzy and Just Curly came together with all being checked. Just Curly brushed the running rail on the first bend. Big Archie (K.Sutch-Jones). Diarrhoea, elevated temperature, mild abdominal pain and dehydration. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 28.03.06. Brandalyn Bale (G.N.Pomeroy). Injury to second inter-phanlangeal joint on digits 4 & 5 of right hind leg. Rule 82.1. 14 days up to and including 01.04.06. |
Race 2 | REASON FINANCE LTD SPRINT FEATURE - C3 - 318 | Charlston Flash and Joebees Jet were the slowest to begin. Just The Don and Full Of Flare (fav and 3rd) came together for a stride after 5o mtrs with both being checked slightly. Entering the first turn Just The Don moved inwards slightly and came together with Charlston Flash. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in checks to Stock Broker, Davron Lass, Danny Hand and Full Of Flare. On the bend Davron Lass, Full Of Flare and Danny Hand came together with all being checked. Charlston Flash moved outwards on the home turn and checked Just The Don. A post race veterinary examination of Stock Broker detected an injury requiring a 7 day stand down from racing. Stock Broker (F.D.Farmer). Injury to left supra spinatus muscle. Rule 82.1. 7 days up to and including 25.03.06. |
Race 3 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C1/2 - 527 | Nadal, Under Time and Thrilling Gus were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Rialto Reason and Nadal came together with Rialto Reason being checked. Massachusetts was tightened and checked between runners on the first turn, came back onto Under Time which was checked and rebounded outwards severely hampering Thrilling Gus. Rialto Reason was tightened and checked on the first bend and came backwards and hampered Nadal which then drifted to finish a distant last. |
Race 4 | OXY-SHOT NEW ZEALAND DASH - C4 - 318 | Mr Blackout was the slowest to begin. Poetical ran inwards at the start causing tightening and severe checks to Shifnal Chief, Mr Blackout, Keenjackaroo and Mo Mistress. Bailed Out moved outwards after 50 mtrs and severely hampered Poetical. Shifnal Chief ran very wide into the home straight. |
Race 5 | COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DASH - C5 - 318 | Tiger Strike was the slowest to begin. Hypoumunga moved inwards on the first turn took the path of and was then galloped on from behind by Origin Teddy with both being severely checked. |
Race 6 | LECTRO HAIR & BEAUTY STAKES - C4/5 - 527 | Mo'em Down (fav and 2nd) was the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn Rivette Reason was galloped on from behind by Rothvale Reason. Rivette Reason moved outwards on the first bend and checked Rothvale Reason. Warnie (S.P.Clark). Parynachia in 5th digit of left hind plus medication. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.13. 7 days up to and including 25.03.06. |
Race 7 | PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) LTD DASH - C4 - 318 | Hello Awesome was the slowest to begin. Don Paulie (winner) ran inwards on the first turn when leading causing general tightening and Go Tyler Go to be checked. Sue Van Gill ran outwards on the home turn causing checks to itself and Romberg Reason. |
Race 8 | RODEWALD HART BROWN LTD STAKES - C1 - 527 | Forever Running began well then drifted to the rear to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected no injury (refer Judicial). |
Race 9 | WWW.AGRC.CO.NZ DASH - C1 - 318 | This race started 3 minutes late due to a request from TAB Trackside. Hypo Lomu and Our Shereena were the slowest to begin. Marble Nugget ran inwards at the start and checked Our Shereena. Marble Nugget and Miss MacSteele jostled for several strides prior to the first turn. Our Shereena was checked entering the first turn. |
Race 10 | 'SEE YOU SUNDAY 26TH MARCH' DASH - C0 - 318 | Delability was the slowest to begin. Ray Reeb and Oh If Only were checked on the first turn with Ray Reeb also being galloped on from behind by Roys Babe. |
