Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Trainers are reminded that when a greyhound is scratched from a race meeting every effort should be made to present the registration papers and veterinary certificate for the greyhound to the Stewards for endorsement at the applicable race meeting.

It was reported to the Club and Stewards that theft had occurred from several unlocked vehicles in the trainers' car park. The police were advised by trainer N.Udy.

Race 7. Trainer L.P.Joyce (Spring Storm) was questioned by Stewards in relation to the substantial weight variation registered for this greyhound at this race meeting ( 35.2kg up from 32.6kg at it's previous race start on 09.02.06). Mr Joyce advised that as the new trainer for the greyhound he considered tonight's weight to be the optimum for the greyhound and he had wanted the greyhound to race at this weight level for some time. Under Rule 69.12 where a new trainer races a greyhound for the first time no penalty is applicable for any weight variance.
It was the intention of the Stewards to monitor the race performance of this greyhound very closely however the late scratching of the greyhound due to an injury detected during pre race preparation prevented this taking place on this occasion.

| Race 1 | RODEWALD HART BROWN LTD RAILWAY SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | Homebush Buzz was boxed first due to a current 'hard to box' categorisation and was observed and reported to box without difficulty. Rudi Jewel and Noble Osti were the slowest to begin. Homebush Buzz ran inwards at the start and severely checked itself, Rudi Jewel and Tiger Strike. Entering the first turn Homebush Buzz moved outwards and checked Noble Osti which also stumbled shortly after. Homebush Buzz then continued to move outwards and checked Tiger Strike and Rudi Jewel. Hostile Arch ran outwards on the bend and severely checked itself and Homebush Buzz. |
| Race 2 | PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) LTD AUCKLAND CUP - HEAT 1 - C5q - 527 Heat 1 | This race started 1 minute late due to a delay in the kennels. Hello Awesome and Token Ego were the slowest to begin. Warnie and Dynamic Keroma then Warnie and Rubble bumped each other after the start with all being checked. Charlston Ghost (fav and 3rd) ran inwards after the start and carted Waxeye inwards as well. Waxeye endeavoured to move outwards first turn and checked Token Ego. Hello Awesome took evasive action from this incident and ran very wide. On the first bend Mo'em Down (winner) moved outwards across the heels of Charlston Flash and took the path of Waxeye which was severely checked and twisted into the path of Token Ego and Hello Awesome which were also severely checked and lost all chance. Pastrana Bale (G.N.Pomeroy). Gained start in Race 7. |
| Race 3 | RODEWALD HART BROWN LTD RAILWAY SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | Sunset Doll, Siesmic and Bob Allen were the slowest to begin. Nasty Streak moved outwards at the start and checked Siesmic. Siesmic was tightened and checked entering the first turn and was always near the rear thereafter. Sunset Doll (fav and last) hit the running rail hard on the bend, was severely checked and lost all chance. A post race veterinary examination detected no injury. Romberg Reason (B & L Craik). Gained start in Race 8. |
| Race 4 | PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) LTD AUCKLAND CUP - HEAT 2 - C5q - 527 Heat 1 | Prince Toshack, Funny Girl and Awesome Fawn were the slowest to begin. Prince Toshack ran inwards after the start and hampered Funny Girl slightly after 30 mtrs. Entering the first turn Brilliant Hand moved outwards and checked Prince Toshack. Mo Mistress moved outwards in the home straight and hampered Funny Girl slightly. Greatwhite (J & D Fahey). Kennel cough. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 11.03.06. |
| Race 5 | RODEWALD HART BROWN LTD RAILWAY SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | Aztec Keroma (fav and winner), Hypoumunga, Troubled Times and Charlston Kid were the slowest to begin. Dyna Ropati and Gold Strike came together after the start with both being checked slightly. Charlston Kid made contact with the hind quarters and slightly checked Troubled Times after 30 mtrs. Gold Strike ran inwards after 40 mtrs and carted Dyna Ropati with it resulting in checks to Troubled Times and Hypoumunga in the process. Entering the first turn general tightening caused severe checks to Hypoumunga, Troubled Times, Dyna Ropati and Gold Strike. Aztec Keroma and Tarara Ape came together entering the first turn with both being checked slightly. |
| Race 6 | PACIFIC SHEET & COIL (NZ) LTD AUCKLAND CUP - HEAT 3 - C5q - 527 Heat 1 | Rogan Reason and Accord were very slow to begin. Charlston State and Winsome Secret came together after 30 mtrs with Winsome Secret being severely checked. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Hypo Rokocoko, Kim's Whisky, Charlston State, Lomu Flex and Accord. Hyypo Rokocoko also had it's heels clipped in this incident and recovered well to finish 4th. Kim's Whisky moved outwards on the first bend checking itself, Lomu Flex and Accord. Accord moved inwards to the rail at the end of the back straight and checked Lomu Flex and Kim's Whisky slightly. Rogan Reason was hampered slightly behind Hypo Rokocoko on the home turn. |
| Race 7 | RODEWALD HART BROWN LTD RAILWAY SPRINT - HEAT 4 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | Spring Storm was a late scratching on veterinary advice during pre race preparation. Pastrana Bale, Wild Kentucky and Osbourne were the slowest to begin. Just Rockin was denied racing room for several strides on the first turn. Nearing the home turn Pastrana Bale ran wide and covered extra ground. Kedo's Jamie (A.C.Roberts).Right Groin muscle bruising. Vet certificate supplied. Entering the first turn Bigbad Edna (fav and winner) moved outwards slightly and hampered Origin Teddy momentarily. Charlston Time moved outwards on the first turn and severely checked Stooge which came back onto and checked Special Doons. |
| Race 10 | REASON FINANCE LTD DASH - SPEC - 318 | Comical Ali and Homebush Bradley (fav and 6th) were the slowest to begin. Awesome At Last and Tee Ar Tee came together after 25 mtrs with both being checked slightly. Thrilling Delta and Homebush Bradley jostled for several strides after 30 mtrs. Shifnal Chief raced wide throughout and covered a lot of extra ground to finish 5th. Awesome At Last ran wide into the home straight and fought on well to win. |
