Manukau Stadium ON SUNDAY 19 Feb 2006

Weather:
Track: Dead Dead
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm The Officiating Veterinary Surgeon was questioned as to the reason for his late arrival on-course causing a delay to the commencement of greyhound examinations prior to kennelling. The revised starting time of the first race to 3.50 pm had not been advised to the Veterinary Surgeon. Stewards' conveyed this oversight to Club management and their explanation was accepted on this occasion.
**************
Race 5. The manner in which Don Paulie was handled once extracted from the lure at the conclusion of the race received close scrutiny from the Stewards and it was evident that this greyhound does become extremely difficult to control. The matter was discussed with Trainer N.P.Green who was advised that the manner in which Handler S.C.Mann endeavoured to control the greyhound today was acceptable to the Stewards however every effort must be made to try and improve the situation.
**************
Race 5. Following concerns received from several Trainers and a pre meeting discussion with the Racing Manager, Greyhound Racing NZ, Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into the grading (C3) of Aztec Keroma (G.E.Harding) having it's first race start in NZ since being imported from Australia. Mr Harding's authorised Representative / Handler on-course, N.Udy, was advised of the inquiry being instigated under Rules 38.1(b) and 38.3 (a) however no further information was sought by Stewards at this time. Aztec Keroma subsequently won the race and the AGRC was requested to withhold the payment of stake money under Rule 79.1 (b) until further instruction is received from the Stewards.
**************
Race 6. Trainer W.Steele (Thrilling Monty) was fined $50.00 (first offence) under Rule 69.11 for a 1.1kg overweight variance from the greyhound's previous race start.
