Judicial report: Weather: Overcast / showers Race 4.( Refer above Race Incident report). Following this Race trainer G.C.Farrell was shown the video coverage of an incident which occurred involving MacMcLeod nearing the home turn. Due to no 'head on' coverage at this point in the race it could not be conclusively ascertained whether MacMcLeod had made contact with Miss MacSteele (racing on its outer) causing a distraction to MacMcLeod.A post race veterinary examination detected an injury requiring a 10 day stand down from racing and when questioned about the injury, the officiating Veterinary Surgeon advised that the nature of it could have caused the greyhound to hesitate in it's stride and lose focus. Stewards' therefore took no further action on this occasion other than to advise Mr Farrell that the future racing manners of this greyhound will be closely monitored.
****************
Race 5. Handler S.C.Mann (Don Paulie), was spoken to advisedly in response to concerns received by Stewards' in relation to the manner in which he had handled this greyhound once extracted from the lure. (these concerns could not be confirmed from the available video coverage of the race). Mr Mann expressed his opinion that Don Paulie is very difficult to control at the conclusion of it's races and therefore requires irregular methods to be applied. Mr Mann was advised that Trainer N.P.Green needs to bring the matter to the attention of the Stewards' if it is a serious on-going problem. Mr Mann was also advised that the handling of this greyhound will be monitored very closely in the future and an assessment / ruling then be made by the Stewards' as to what is an acceptable standard of control.
****************
Race 10. Trainer M.P.Mann (Junior Time) was fined $50.00 (first offence) under Rule 69.11 for a 1.2 kg under weight variance from the previous race start.
