Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm Race 1. Trainer R.A.McPhee (Deniable) was fined $50.00 (first offence) under Rule 69.11 for a 1.4kg (underweight) variance from this greyhounds previous race start.

Race 1 | STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C1 - 318 | Hypo Carter and Thrilling Archie (fav and last) came together after the start with Thrilling Archie being checked. Deniable and Thrilling Archie came together after 20 mtrs. Lady Tandia moved outwards after 30 mtrs and checked itself and Deniable which in turn also moved outwards and checked Thrilling Archie. Thrilling Archie changed ground outwards on the first turn and lost momentum and ground. Lady Tandia ran outwards nearing the back straight and covered extra ground. |
Race 2 | MANUKAU MAIDEN STAKES FINAL - C0f - 527 | Raincall was boxed first due to a current 'hard to box' categorisation and was observed and reported to box without difficulty. Thrilling Pearl (fav and winner) was slow to begin. Queen Toka reared as the boxes opened and lost 2 lengths. Raincall ran very wide on the first bend. Queen Toka raced near midfield early then lost momentum nearing the end of the back straight before drifting out to finish last. A post race veterinary examination detected no injury. Entering the final bend Blade Slayer moved outwards and hampered Thrilling Ben. On the final turn Blade Slayer changed ground outwards and lost a length. |
Race 3 | COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DASH - C1/2 - 318 | Ina Tizzy and Shifnal Chief (fav and 3rd) came together at the start with both being checked. General tightening after 25 mtrs resulted in checks to Just Curly, Jimmitom, Farmer Benson and Jimmytheone. Nearing and entering the first turn general tightening caused severe checks to all runners. Shifnal Chief ran outwards on the home turn and severely checked Rock It Hound which in turn moved outwards and checked Farmer Benson. |
Race 4 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C1 - 527 | Victory Chant, Thrilling Monty (fav) and Distinctly Roys were the slowest to begin. Just The Don and Tempest Lass came together at the start. Victory Chant ran wide on the first bend and was always back and wide thereafter finishing last. Thrilling Monty was well back early then made up ground strongly throughout to finish 3rd. Andwyn (S.P.Clark). Hock strain to right hind leg. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 14 days up to and including 08.02.06. Gunna Flex (G.N.Pomeroy). Sore right sartorius muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 05.02.06. |
Race 5 | THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL STAKES - C1/2 - 527 | Nadal, Rialto Reason and Turbulence were slow to begin. Joebees Jet (fav and 7th) ran outwards off the rail on the first turn and collided with the hind quarters of Turbulence which was then carted very wide. Rialto Reason was also checked and carted very wide in this incident. A post race veterinary examination of Joebees Jet detected no injury. |
Race 6 | 'GREYHOUNDS AS PETS' DASH - C5 - 318 | Bigbad Edna was the slowest to begin. Dyna Ropati ran outwards at the start severely checking itself, Delta Belle, Maxi The Taxi (fav and last) and Charlston Time. This interference continued for 20 mtrs due to Dyna Ropati boring outwards. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Nasty Streak, Charlston Time and Bigbad Edna. Charlston Time and Maxi The Taxi ran very wide and covered a lot of extra ground on the bend when racing at the rear. Delta Belle ran outwards off the rail on the home turn and lost 2 lengths. |
Race 7 | TRILLIAN TRUST STAKES - C2/3 - 527 | Shining Comet was the slowest to begin and then ran wide on the home turn. Entering the first turn Frosty's Special and Kaimai Gold came together with both being severely checked. Shining Comet was hampered momentarily in this incident. |
Race 8 | CAROL'S TAB DASH - C2/3 - 318 | Glenmire (fav and 6th) and Charlston Flash were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Movie Man, Final Objective, Togetherness and Just Hasty. Nearing the back straight Movie Man moved outwards into the path of and severely checking Charlston Flash. |
Race 9 | OXY-SHOT NEW ZEALAND STAKES - C4/5 - 527 | Rogan Reason was the slowest to begin. Nearing the first turn Magical Spell moved outwards and hampered Hypo Rokocoko slightly. Hypo Rokocoko moved outwards on the first bend and hampered Raheny Reason slightly. He's Off (P & L Henley). Bruised ribs and right fore leg. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 04.02.05. Pastrana Bale (G.N.Pomeroy).Sprained right carpus. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days up to and including 05.02.06. |
Race 10 | AUCKLAND ANNIVERSARY DASH - C4 - 318 | Mr Pollywaffle, Winsome Guy and Ballibeast were the slowest to begin. Hostile Arch (winner) ran inwards at the start and carted Gold Strike with it. Go Tyler Go raced wide from the first turn to the finish. |
