Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm Race 3. Security Kennel Attendant, K.Shadbolt received an Official Warning from Stewards under Rule 88.1(q) in relation to a pre race incident which occurred in the Security Kennels involving the greyhound Blade Slayer (W.Steele).

Race 4. Trainer, D.L.Annette (Bus Painter), received an Official Warning from Stewards under Rule 70.6 (b) in relation to a substance being taken into the Security Kennel area. The substance was for application to a previous toe nail injury (to prevent reoccurrence) sustained by Bus Painter and was approved for use by the Officiating Veterinary Surgeon. Stewards directed that the pre race application of the substance take place in the general kennelling area only and that it not be taken into the Security Kennels again under any circumstances.

Race 5. Following this race Stewards considered the performance of Watch My Freckle (S.Blackburn) to be unsatisfactory and of a reoccuring nature from / including previous race starts. The Trainer was shown the video replay of the race and then made verbal submissions to the Stewards in relation to the greyhound's performance. Taking all relevant factors into account the Stewards ordered that Watch My Freckle complete a Satisfactory Trial under Rule 81 prior to being nominated to race again.

Race 1 COCA-COLA DASH - C0 - 318 This race was rescheduled to start 2 minutes later at the request of TAB Trackside Entering the first turn San Shin ran outwards sharply off the rail and collided with On Angels Wings which was severely checked and also moved outwards severely checking Robbed Again. All of these runners then ran very wide and filled the last three placings. Giggilo Gee Jay was denied racing room / hampered on the first turn then recovered well to finish 3rd. San Shin ran very wide on the home turn and covered significant extra ground.
Race 2 CAROL'S TAB DASH - C4/5 - 318 Sue Van Gill and Hypoumunga were slow to begin. Mr Pollywaffle was tightened and checked shortly after the start. Poetical and Delta Belle (fav and 4th) jostled entering the first turn. Delta Belle moved outwards, became unbalanced and lost 3 lengths on the bend.
Race 3 MANUKAU MAIDEN STAKES - HEAT 1 - C0q - 527 Heat 1 Raincall was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed and reported to box without difficulty. Thrilling Ben (fav and 2nd) and Thrilling John were the slowest to begin. Nearing the first turn Aria Allen moved outwards severely checking itself, Thrilling Ben and Thrilling John. Raincall ran out on the first bend and lost ground. Smokey Toes drifted to the rear leaving the back straight and finished last. Aria Allen ran very wide into the home straight and finished 6th. Ray Reeb (N.P.Green). Near-side shoulder injury. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 17.02.01.
Race 4 STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C1 - 318 Bus Painter was slow to begin. Awesome Ronnie and Roulette Reason jostled for three strides after 40 mtrs. Our Shereena moved outwards on the bend and severely checked Awesome Ronnie. Super Deal changed ground outwards across the heels of Thrilling Archie on the home turn, checked itself as a result and then ran very wide into the home straight.
Race 5 MANUKAU MAIDEN STAKES - HEAT 2 - C0q - 527 Heat 1 There was no 'head on' video coverage of this race available from TAB Trackside. Purple Mamba and Dreams Are Free were the slowest to begin. Zingle was tightened and checked after 30 mtrs. Thrilling Class, Rowland Reason and Purple Mamba came together on the first turn with all being checked. Dreams Are Free ran very wide on the first bend. Watch My Freckle was handy entering the back straight then drifted out to finish 7th. This greyhound was subsequently ordered to complete a Satisfactory Trial under Rule 81. (refer Judicial). Watch My Freckle (S.Blackburn). Unsatisfactory Performance. Rule 81. To complete Satisfactory Trial prior to nomination to race.
Race 6 BIG, BAD & BEAUTIFUL SYN SPRINT FEATURE - C1 - 318 Distinctly Roys, Suitability and Peter Hand were the slowest to begin. MacMcLeod (fav and 4th) ran inwards at the start and checked itself and Peter Hand. Peter Hand faltered after 30 mtrs and pulled up prior to the first turn. A post race veterinary examination detected an injury requiring a 30 day stand down from racing Nikkei and MacMcLeod jostled for several strides prior to the first turn. Suitability was tightened and severely checked on the first turn, moved outwards as a result and severely checked MacMcLeod and Nikkei. Distinctly Roys ran outwards in the home straight then fought on for 3rd. A post race veterinary examination of Big Archie (winner) detected an injury requiring a 10 day stand down from racing. Sea Master (J & L Nixon). Near-side hip support injury. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 16.02.01. Peter Hand (P.R.Udy). Ruptured left hind gracilis muscle. Rule 82.1. 30 days up to and including 20.02.06. Big Archie (K.Sutch-Jones). Nail completely torn from left hind outer toe. Rule 82.1. 10 days up to and including 31.01.06.
Race 7 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C1 - 527 Thrilling Monty and Cheap were the slowest to begin. Trendy Time, Cheap and Gunna Flex (fav and 2nd) came together shortly after the start with all being checked. Destiny's Run moved outwards across the heels of Cheap entering the first turn and lost a length. Trendy Time was tightened and checked leaving the back straight finishing 7th.
Race 8 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C2 - 318 Jimmitom was slow to begin. Farmer Benson, Shifnal Chief (fav and 5th) and Rock It Hound came together after the start with all being severely checked. Bullet Blue (7th) raced very wide throughout and covered a significant amount of extra ground. Joebees Jet raced wide on the home turn then rallied well to finish 2nd.
Race 9 JIMBOS PETFOOD STAKES - C2 - 527 Richfield Reason (fav and 5th) and Coruba Sun were the slowest to begin. Holah A Hypo (winner) and Main Journey came together for a stride after the start with both being checked. Entering the first turn Frosty's Special moved outwards and checked itself, Coruba Sun and Richfield Reason. Shortly after Frosty's Special and Richfield Reason collided again with both being severely checked. Coruba Rush ran outwards on the first bend.
Race 10 NORTHERN DIGITAL PHOTOFINISH DASH - C3 - 318 Hello Awesome (fav and 6th) was slow to begin. Leslies Pearl ran outwards after the start and severely checked Kalkaringi and Hello Awesome. Kalkaringi moved inwards towards the rail after 50 mtrs and severely checked itself and Leslies Pearl. Jack Rhode ran wide on the bend and severely checked Hello Awesome. Kalkaringi appeared to make brief contact with the running rail on the bend and was slightly checked. Time Over Boots (D.Schofield). Near-side hind toe broken. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.14. 28 days to and including 17.02.01.
