Race 1 STREETS ICE CREAM STAKES - C0 - 527 Blade Slayer was slow to begin. Triway reared as the starting boxes opened and lost 2 lengths. Entering the first turn Aria Allen moved outwards clipped the heels of Rowland Reason (fav and 2nd) and checked Blade Slayer. On first bend Aria Allen again moved outwards taking the path of and checking Blade Slayer.
Race 2 MANUKAU SPRINT FEATURE - C3 - 318 Hello Awesome (fav and winner) was slow to begin then shortly after came together with Stock Broker for a stride with both being checked slightly. Hello Awesome made up ground wide out then through the field prior to being hampered on the bend. Nearing the first turn Jack Rhode moved outwards causing a chain reaction of interference and checks to Stock Broker, Movie Man and Hello Awesome. Stock Broker was tightened and fell heavily on the first turn. A post race veterinary examination detected injury requiring a 7 day stand down from racing. Time Over Boots ran wide on the bend severely checking and carting Jack Rhode over extra ground. Stock Broker (F.D.Farmer). Bilateral contusion in both shoulders attributed to race fall. Rule 82.1. 7 days to and including 25.01.06. (Registration papers to be presented to Stewards for endorsement).
Race 3 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C3/4 - 527 Stabila Boss, Shining Comet and Coach Purdon were the slowest to begin. Stabila Boss and Shining Comet came together after the start with both being checked. Stabila Boss moved outwards on the first turn and carted Coach Purdon over extra ground. Nearing the back straight Stabila Boss was cut off and checked, lost 3 lengths and never recovered finishing last. Friendly Virus and Coach Purdon came together on the final bend with Friendly Virus being checked. Shining Comet ran on from last nearing the home turn to finish 6th.
Race 4 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C5 - 318 Hypoumunga and Stooge were the slowest to begin. Stooge and Dyna Ropati ran out across the heels of other runners on the bend with both checking themselves. Stooge ran very wide on the home turn.
Race 5 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C1 - 527 Just The Don (fav and 5th), Cheap and Suitability were very slow to begin then came together for a stride. Entering the first turn Trendy Time was tightened and checked. Just The Don and Suitability raced wide around the first bend covering extra ground. Suitability ran wide on the home turn when at the rear and finished last.
Race 6 PUKEKOHE TRAVEL STAKES - C4/5 - 527 Thrilling Sassy (fav and 2nd) was the slowest to begin and ran home strongly in the home straight. Entering the first turn Spring Storm was galloped on from behind and severely checked by Entrepreneur which then moved wide and carted Thrilling Sassy over extra ground. Leaving the back straight M'oem Down and Raheny Reason were tightened and checked by Thrilling Sassy.
Race 7 COCA-COLA DASH - C3/4 - 318 Kiwi Fire (fav and winner) stumbled at the start losing 6 lengths and all chance. Go Tyler Go ran outwards and Origin Teddy inwards after the start causing tightening and checks to Tiger Strike, Little Toot, Winsome Guy and Origin Teddy. Little Toot and Winsome Guy raced wide on the bend.
Race 8 BELLBIRD ARMS STAKES - C1/2 - 527 Nadal was very slow to begin. Holah A Hypo and Rialto Reason were slow to begin. Nearing the home straight Richfield Reason (fav and winner) clipped the heels of the leader Coruba Rush and checked itself at a vital stage of the race but recovered well to win. Straightening for the run home Nadal moved outwards into the path of Coruba Sun with both being checked when racing at the rear. Danny Hand (N.P.Green). Sesamoid strain to left front toe. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 26.01.06.
Race 9 LION FOUNDATION DASH - C2 - 318 Joebees Jet was very slow to begin then made up ground well for 5th. Glenmire (fav and 6th) and Jimmytheone were slow to begin. Just Curly and Togetherness came together at the start. Jimmytheone and Glenmire jostled after 35 mtrs until the first turn with both being severely checked several times. Shifnal Chief and Bullet Blue ran very wide on the bend. Shifnal Chief, Joebees Jet and Bullet Blue ran very wide on the home turn covering extra ground at a vital stage.
Race 10 'SEE YOU SUNDAY 22ND JANUARY' SPRINT - C1 - 318 Our Shereena was the slowest to begin then made up ground well for 4th. Roulette Reason and Sea Master came together at the start. Hypo Carter and Rumpole came together after 30 mtrs. Hypo Carter ran very wide on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of Miss MacSteele detected an injury requiring a 10 day stand down from racing. Miss MacSteele (G.B.Darcy). Right hind tear in interdigital area. Rule 82.1. 10 days to and including 28.01.06.
