Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm Race 3. Raincall (M.K.Kimber) was declared a 'Hard to Box' greyhound following recent assessments and therefore will be boxed first until further notice.

Race 4. Rebecca's Pal (K.W.Symes) Following a post race Veterinary Examination, verbal submissions from the Handler in charge of the greyhound (C.Symes) and an in-depth review of all factors in relation to this greyhound's performance, the Stewards ordered that a Satisfactory Trial under Rule 81.1 be completed.

Race 8. Little Toot (K.E.Lomas) was declared to have a 1.2kg (down) weight variance from it's previous race start on 28.12.05. and a $50.00 fine against K.E.Lomas under Rule 69.11 was imposed.

Trainers and Handlers are reminded of Rule 71.2 which states 'If the Handler of a Greyhound engaged to compete in a Race fails to appear at the kennels at the appointed time to retrieve the Greyhound, the Stewards may order the withdrawal of the Greyhound and the Handler shall be guilty of an Offence'.

Race 1 TIEN TIAN LTD DASH - C0 - 318 Triway, Watch My Freckle and San Shin were the slowest to begin. Watch My Freckle, San Shin and Giggilo Gee Jay came together after the start resulting in checks to all. Nearing the first turn Watch My Freckle ran outwards and severely checked San Shin. Entering the first turn Lady Tandia ran into the hind quarters of Jacki Flex with both being severely checked. San Shin and Triway ran very wide on the bend then shortly after San Shin ran out across the heels of Triway. Nearing the back straight Jacki Flex ran inwards and inconvenienced Lady Tandia then Jacki Flex made contact with the running rail and checked itself. Bright Token (W.Steele). Penetrating wound to the back thigh resulting in infection. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 23.01.06.
Race 2 CAROL'S TAB'S DASH - C1 - 318 This race was rescheduled to start 2 minutes later by TAB Trackside. Our Shereena and Airfield Fog were the slowest to begin. Bubba Hotep moved outwards at the start and severely checked Miss MacSteele and Airfield Fog. Entering first turn Positive Force (fav and 5th) moved outwards causing crowding and inconvenienced Miss MacSteele. On the first turn Positive Force clipped the heels of and checked Big Archie. On the bend Bubba Hotep was tightened and then checked shortly after. On the bend Airfield Fog moved outwards across the heels of Big Archie and lost a length.
Race 3 MA'S STAKES - C0 - 527 Raincall was observed and reported to be 'hard to box' (refer Judicial). Hot Dickadee ran inwards at the start and checked Fortified Hope. Nearing the home turn Fortified Hope moved outwards and checked Grand Master.
Race 4 PUKEKOHE TRAVEL DASH - C1 - 318 Awesome Ronnie ran inwards at the start and checked itself, Distinctly Roys and Hypo Carter. Shortly after Hypo Carter came together with Rebecca's Pal which was severely checked and dropped out to finish a distant last with an abnormal galloping action. A post race veterinary examination of this runner detected no injury. Taking all relevant factors into account including verbal submissions from the Handler in charge of the greyhound, review of the overall performance and the possibility of delayed injury onset / detection, the Stewards ordered Rebecca's Pal to complete a Satisfactory Trial. (refer Judicial) Lord Maximus (F.D.Farmer). Rule 64.13. Ex Waikato GRC on 13.01.06. Rebecca's Pal (K.W.Symes). Rule 81.1. Satisfactory Trial to be completed prior to nomination.
Race 5 ZHAO'S STAKES - C1 - 527 Sable Gold was slow to begin. On the bend Sable Gold galloped on the hind quarters then the back of Criteria which was forced to the ground then regained it's feet before dropping to the rear and finishing a distant last. A post race veterinary examination detected no injury. Thrilling Monty was also severely checked in this incident. Thrilling Zeus ran very wide on the bend and covered extra ground. Tempest Lass (J.A.Cleaver). Lameness and wrist pain. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 64.12. 10 days to and including 23.01.06.
Race 6 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING SPRINT FEATURE - C2 - 318 Just Hasty, Shifnal Chief (fav and 3rd) and Camcaff were the slowest to begin. Sister Saintly moved inwards to the rail after 30 mtrs and severely checked Thrilling Delta and Farmer Benson. On the bend Thrilling Delta moved outwards and took the path of and checked Junior Time which was racing in 3rd position at the time. Junior Time then drifted back and into the path of Camcaff with both being checked. On the home turn Camcaff and Ina Tizzy came together twice with Ina Tizzy being slightly checked.
Race 7 HE'S STAKES - C3/4 - 527 Shining Comet was slow to begin. Prince Toshack and Rialto Reason came together for a stride after the start. Nearing the first turn Rivette Reason and Thrilling Faith (fav and winner) came together with both being checked slightly. Entering the first turn Prince Toshack and Shining Comet came together with both being severely checked. Shining Comet ran wide on the home turn and lost 2 lengths before rallying well to finish 3rd.
Race 8 FAN'S DASH - C4/5 - 318 Little Toot and Sue Van Gill were the slowest to begin. After 50 mtrs Hypoumunga, Poetical, Gold Strike and Stooge jostled for several strides. Nearing the first turn Poetical moved inwards and collided with Little Toot which was severely checked. Poetical and Gold Strike were also severely checked in this incident. Sue Van Gill ran wide on the home turn and lost ground. Stooge moved outwards on the home turn and clipped the heels of Nasty Streak.
Race 9 ZHENG'S DASH - C2/3 - 318 Nadal was very slow to begin. Rock It Hound was denied racing room and severely checked on the first turn. Entering the back straight Nadal was tightened and checked then ran outwards after straightening for the run home and slightly checked Just Too Hot.
Race 10 HO'S STAKES - C2 - 527 Richfield Reason and Last account were the slowest to begin. Thrilling Neo, Sea Drifter and Rothvale Reason came together after the start. Ace Of Spies and Sea Drifter ran wide on the first bend. Entering the back straight Ace Of Spies appeared to falter and dropped back quickly to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary examination detected an injury requiring a 10 day stand down from racing. Thrilling Neo was tightened slightly on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination of Last Account detected no injury. Candy Coated (B & L Craik). Rule 64.14. Ex Waikato GRC on 13.01.06. Ace Of Spies (G.Calverley). Evidence of strain /sprain left upper medial hind leg. Rule 82.1. 10 days to and including 24.01.06.
