One of the favourites BIGTIME NIPPA was slow to begin and this would have affected its chance of a placing. HOMEBUSH EDWARD was handy into the first corner but faltered and dropped right away to finish a long last. HOMEBUSH EDWARD was examined by the Vet and stood down with a spike wound. MAGIC EBONY was presented 1.2 Kilograms overweight and the Trainers S & J Cole were fined $ 50-00. Race 2	KEENAN CONCRETE - C0 - 305	B.Chesterfield was fined $ 30-00 when late presenting dogs for kennelling for the third time at recent meetings and after a warning had been issued. COMET RISING was slow to begin and settled last. BRIDIES GYPSY and THRILLING SHADOW were checked back to the rear on the first corner and they finished at the rear.
Race 3	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C0 - 520	PACEY MACEY was scratched due to injury. PURELY AWESOME was scratched due to a seasonal condition. FLASH WINK ran in from the start and checked THRILLING CHANCE who settled near the rear but recovered to finish 3rd. PACEY MACEY P.Hanover Rule 64 Suffering from a foreleg injury and stood down for 21 days to and including 26.01.06. PURELY AWESOME B.Marsh Rule 64.10 Seasonal condition and stood down for 28 days to and including 31.01.06
Race 4	DIMOCKS RETRAVISION - C2 - 305	VAL'S FELLA and SHEEZA CORKA were crowded against the rail in the race to the first corner and they went back to the rear and could not make up the lost ground. FIRST SAMPLE was forced wide over extra ground on the bend.
Race 5	GUTHRIE BOWRON - C0 - 305	TEENY WEENY was checked and fell on the first turn and FOUR MEMORIES and JO BLOGGS were hindered and pushed wide in the incident. TEENY WEENY was examined by the Vet and stood down for 7 days with bruising. TEENY WEENY J.McArthur Rule 82 Fell and suffered bruising and stood down for 7 days to and including 12.01.06.
Race 6	VITA POWER - EXCEED - C1 - 520	The two favourites BIGTIME LEE and THRILLING SHELLY were slow away and then came together and jostled on the first corner, ran wide on the first bend losing more ground and never recovered, finishing well back. F.Kite was fined $ 20-00 for a breach of the dress code.
Race 7	RUSH HIRE - C4 - 305	REAL SILENCE was scratched due to injury. STUNNING EBONY and ALLEGRO COMET jostled together on the first corner, went back to the rear and they stayed back to the finish. REAL SILENCE A.Udy Rule 64 Suffering from a shoulder muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 15.01.06.
Race 8	STEEL STRUCTURES - C2/3 - 305	MISTER JAYBEE was very slow to begin losing several lengths but was then observed to be running on well for 5th at the finish.
Race 9	THE RADIO WORKS - C2/3 - 305	SAILAH JAYNE was scratched due to injury. DISCO FEVER was the slowest away and was then pushed wide on the bend and finished in last place. SAILAH JAYNE M.Gardner Rule 64 Suffering from sore calf muscle and presented and stood down for 7 days to and including 11.01.06.
Race 10	HEADS ROAD VETERINARY - C1/2 - 520	THRILLING LIZ and FYVIE BELLE collided soon after the start, lost ground and settled at the rear and stayed there to the finish.
Race 11	DIMOCKS FURNITURE COURT - C2 - 305	ROLLEN was one of the slowest away but then recovered and with a clear rails run, finished on for 2nd placing. The favourite EXODUS was away well to be handy into the first corner but was crowded by QUIVER LIP, lost momentum but then recovered to finish 3rd. R.Hunt the Trainer of MANTARI RULE was fined $ 50-00 for presenting the dog 1.1 kilograms overweight. UNO A WHISPER Ex Wairarapa on 04.01.06.
Race 12	METEOR PRINTERS - C1 - 305	IMAGE OF ISHBELL, WINSOME JACK, PENMANS PAL and BOY RACER were all tightened and checked on the first turn. WINSOME JACK recovered well to finish 2nd. ENROLLMENT was momentarily held up on the bend but recovered to run 3rd.
