Race 1 SUMMER RACING - C0q - 545 Heat 1 MONTY ZUMA moved in on the home turn and checked SUN OF JONELLE who lost a little ground.
Race 2 NZGRA - THE DOGS!! - C1q - 545 Heat 1 HOLA CHICA was slow to begin and was then checked on the first corner, ran out and pushed the favourite LAUREN AUDER wide on the bend. LAUREN AUDER recovered to finish in 3rd place. UPAHUT LOONY and HOKIO STAR raced well back for most of the race and tailed the field home by several lengths.
Race 3 NZGRA - THE DOGS!! - C1q - 545 Heat 1 NGALA was a late scratching due to injury. TAHUNA TEAZER was a Club scratching after being placed in the wrong distance race. MINTIE MOMENT went up with the box lids, lost ground and settled last and stayed there throughout. NGALA O.Marron Rule 82 .1 A late scratching due to suffering from laryngitis and was stood down for 10 days to and including 13.01.06. TAHUNA TEAZER was a Club scratching with no penalty.
Race 4 NZGRA - THE DOGS!! - C1q - 545 Heat 1 NEVER HOME was scratched and is now deceased. L.Fornasiere the Trainer of DUSTY NERO was fined $ 50-00 under Rule 69.11and Rule 88.1.o. when the dog was overweight by .1 of a kilogram. The favourite JEWEL turned in the boxes and took no part in the race. JEWEL was required to complete a box trial and this was completed satisfactorily. NEVER HOME T.McGillivray Scratched due to injury and now deceased.
Race 5 D.B.BREWERIES - C1 - 290 PEEL RIDGE SUE was checked on the first corner and dropped back to the rear taking BUSTER KEATON with it and they finished near the rear. HOMEBUSH LEE was checked on the bend and eventually finished in last place.
Race 6 SUMMER RACING - C0q - 545 Heat 1 ESPADRILLE was scratched due to a seasonal complaint .WHEELCHAIR JIM was handy early in the race but dropped out to finish a long last and was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with a hind leg muscle injury. ESPADRILLE O.Marron Rule 68.25 Suffering from a seasonal complaint and stood down for 30 days to and including 02.02.06 WHEELCHAIR JIM A.Elers Rule 82.1 Suffered a leg muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 13.01.06.
Race 7 WAIRARAPA TIMES-AGE MIDWEEK - C2 - 545 MAXIMUM was scratched due to injury. Tightening on the first turn resulted in checks to ARANUI SPEEDY, PELICAN CREEK, ARANUI GOLD, DURAN DURAN, STAUNCH and SHEEZA CORKA and they were all forced to race wide around the first bend. MAXIMUM P.Freeman Rule 82 .1 Suffering from hock strain and stood down for 30 days to and including 01.02.06.
Race 8 NZGRA INTERPROVINCIAL CHALLENGE CUP - C2/3 - 545 USER FRIENDLY was crowded against the rail in the race to the first turn and settled well back, eventually finishing in last place.
Race 9 HORSE & HOUND NZ HURDLES CUP - C1/2h - 545 ARANUI TUI broke down with a circuit to run and pulled up in the back straight. She was examined by the Vet and stood down for 10 days with a hind leg muscle injury. CHIPPEWA BRAVE fell in the back straight but was uninjured. MISS MOONWALK finished a long last and was also examined and was found to have a suspected cracked hock and was stood down for 30 days. ARANUI TUI M.Boyd Rule 82.1 Suffered a hind leg muscle injury and was stood down for 10 days to and including 13.01.06 MISS MOONWALK G.Caffell Rule 82.1 Suffered a suspected cracked hock and was stood down for 30 days to and including 02.02.06.
Race 10 WAIRARAPA TIMES - AGE CUP - C5 - 545 CANONGATE was a late scratching due to injury. SAVIOLA was a late scratching due to injury .The race was all clear. CANONGATE O.Marron Rule 82 .1 A late scratching due to a sesamoid injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 13.01.06. SAVIOLA O.Marron Rule 82 .1 A.Late scratching due to a toe injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 13.01.06.
Race 11 FAGAN FORD MASTERTON - C2/3 - 290 The race was all clear.
Race 12 SEEDS & CEREALS SPRINT - C2 - 290 HOMEBUSH SNIPPET was tightened and checked back to last on the first corner then recovered to go forward but was on the heels of JESSE JOHN on the final turn and eventually finished well back. UNO A WHISPER S. Clark Rule 68.25 Found to be In season and stood down for 30 days to and including 02.02.06.
