Judicial report: Weather: Fine / warm Race 2. Waitaha Rua (D.W.Mathews) Deliberation took place relative to this greyhound's performance involving the Stipendiary Stewards, Track Stewards, Handler and Officiating Veterinary Surgeon. This included consideration of the fact that the greyhound had not raced for over two months (16.10.05) and a possible breathing / throat ailment which had been reported by the Handler after tonight's race. Despite a post race veterinary examination not detecting any abnormalities further investigation of this possibility was recommended to the on-course representative of the trainer and a warning issued in relation to the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.

Race 8. Prior to this race the Kennel and Club Judicial Steward reported that the floor of a second tier kennel in the security kennel block had collapsed and involved the greyhounds Pacey Macey and Triway. Both greyhounds were relocated to alternative kennels and underwent veterinary examinations in consultation with their trainers'. They were declared fit to race and finished 4th and 6th respectively. A report from the Club as to the probable cause of the collapse has been requested.
