Race 1 | COMMERCIAL PLUMBING DASH - C1 - 318 | Big Archie and Suitability were the slowest to begin. Suitability and Awesome Ronnie came together for a stride after the start. Entering the first turn Awesome Ronnie moved inwards to the rail resulting in checks to Big Archie, Paso Princess and Suitability. On the bend Big Archie pushed through on the rail and checked Awesome Ronnie. Suitability and Paso Princess ran very wide on the home turn and lost valuable ground. Roulette Reason( fav and 3rd) was denied racing room / checked near the winning post. Thrilling Sally (N.Udy). Sore right pin muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 05.01.06. |
Race 2 | STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C1 - 318 | Our Shereena and El Token were the slowest to begin. Tippy Soprano and Our Shereena came together for a stride after 30 mtrs with both being slightly checked. Entering the first turn This Time Boots was tightened and hampered between runners. This Time Boots (4th) changed ground outwards on the bend and lost 2 lengths. Tippy Soprano and Distinctly Roys came together for a stride entering the home straight with both being slightly checked. El Token (6th) fell after the winning post and was ordered to undergo a veterinary examination which detected an injury requiring a stand down from racing. El Token (R.J.M.Smith). Mild pain in right wrist. Rule 329. 5 days up to and including 01.01.06. |
Race 3 | CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C1 - 527 | Booming Time, El Paso Princess and Our Freddie were the slowest to begin. Friendly Virus ran inwards at the start and checked Rockwell Reason slightly. El Paso Princess and Rockwell Reason came together for a stride on the first bend with the latter then drifting out to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary examination of Rockwell Reason detected no injury. Consequently a Satisfactory Trial under NZGRA Rule 179.1 was imposed on this runner prior to nomination to race. Rochdale Lass (Reed / Thompson) .Right hock strain. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 04.01.06. Cosmic Eclipse (R.P.O'Regan). Pain in right wrist. Race 4 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C2/3 - 318 | Hello Awesome (fav and winner) and Hopplar were the slowest to begin. Tempest Will and World Bank came together after the start and then World Bank, Just Curly and Hopplar came together shortly after with Just Curly and Hopplar being checked. Hello Awesome moved outwards on the first turn and bend in order to find racing room and checked World Bank on both occasions. |
Race 5 | OXY-SHOT NEW ZEALAND PICK SIX STAKES - C2/3 - 527 | Tent Top and Coruba Storm were the slowest to begin. Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Coruba Storm, Stinger Bart, Tent Top and Turbulence. These runners were severely checked again on the first bend resulting from similar circumstances. A post race veterinary examination of Turbulence detected an injury requiring a stand down from racing. Thrilling Cullen (D.van Meeuwen). Gained a start in Race 7. Certainly (L.Nixon). Rule 329. Race 6 | AUCKLAND OAKS FINAL - R/Af - 527 | Tempest Lass, Shellsal and Thrilling Sassy were the slowest to begin. Ritzy Reason moved outwards on the first bend and carted Shellsal over extra ground. Winsome Secret (J & D Fahey). Mild sprain to right hock.Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 08.01.06. |
Race 7 | THE ALAMO BAR & GRILL C2 STAKES FINAL - C2f - 527 | Under Time and Gentle Lee were the slowest to begin. Thrilling Fella and Frosty's Special came together for a stride after 20 mtrs with both being checked. Entering the first turn Coruba Sun and Thrilling Fella came together for a stride. Frosty's Special and Gentle Lee ran wide on the first bend. Nearing the back straight Kola's Glory (fav and 2nd) moved outwards and pushed Thrilling Cleo into the path of Thrilling Cullen which fell heavily. Under Time which was unable to avoid this fallen runner also fell. Post race veterinary examinations of both Thrilling Cullen and Under Time detected injuries requiring a stand down from racing. Thrilling Gus (N.Udy). Sore right biceps brachii tendon. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.10 days up to and including 05.01.06. Thrilling Cullen (D.van Meeuwen). Abrasions / broken skin on right side flank. Rule 329. 10 days up to and including 06.01.06. Under Time (L.Nixon). Torn biceps muscle or torn inter-tuberal ligament. Rule 329. 21 days up to and including 17.01.06. |
Race 8 | AUCKLAND DERBY - FINAL - R/Af - 527 | Pattys Answer and Thrilling Hugo (fav and 4th) were the slowest to begin. On the first bend and as a result of Shifnal Chief moving inwards slightly and Thrilling Hugo making contact with the hind quarters of and severely checking Coruba Rush then moved outwards as a result and collided with Kaimai Gold which was also severely checked. When racing at the rear of the field Coruba Rush moved outwards on the home turn and into the path of Kaimai Gold with both being checked. A post race veterinary examination of Coruba Rush detected no injury. |
Race 9 | DSR - FAMILY FUN DAY STAKES - C4/5 - 527 | Mo Mistress and Secret Teddy were the slowest to begin. Exceptional Kola (fav and 6th) and Comical Ali came together for a stride on three occasions prior to the first turn. Nearing the first turn Waxeye and Mo Mistress jostled twice with Secret Teddy (3rd) being checked as a result of this interference. Waxeye was galloped on from behind by Exceptional Kola on the first turn with both being severely checked. Secret Teddy was also severely checked. in this incident. Krackem (D.van Meeuwen). Rule 329. Race 10 | WWW.AGRC.CO.NZ DASH - C4/5 - 318 | Entering the first turn general tightening resulted in severe checks to Flash Shooter, Osbourne, Charlston Time and Little Toot. On the bend Osbourne clipped the heels of Little Toot, almost fell and lost all chance finishing last. Charlston Time ran outwards on the home turn and hampered Flash Shooter. |
