Judicial report: Weather: Showery Race 1. Following this race Trainer A.R.Bowen was reminded of the requirements in relation to greyhounds registered for pre race stir ups.

Race 2. Raincall (M.K.Kimber). A request was received from the Trainer's representative on-course, L.Nixon, for this greyhound to be assessed for 'hard to box' categorisation. A further assessment will be conducted at it's next race start.

Following Race 10, Trainer J.Nixon expressed concern regarding the track surface.

Trainers are reminded that unless extenuating circumstances exist, greyhound registration papers together with the applicable veterinary certificate, must be presented for endorsement by the Stipendiary Steward at the race meeting from which the greyhound has been scratched.

Race 1 | STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C0 - 318 | Watch My Freckle, Ray Reeb and Delability were the slowest to begin. Sun Of Jonelle, Hypo Carter (fav and winner), Go Mad Corky and San Shin came together after the start with all of these runners being checked. Nearing the first turn Sun Of Jonelle and Hypo Carter came together for a stride with Hypo Carter being slightly checked. Go Mad Corky was tightened and checked on the first turn. San Shin raced very wide throughout, covered a lot of extra ground and finished 6th. |
Race 2 | 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARRYL HENWOOD' DASH - C0 - 318 | Raincall was reported to be 'hard to box'. Grand Master, Coruba Jane and Raincall were the slowest to begin. Coruba Jane moved outwards off the rail on the first turn resulting in checks to itself, Robbed Again and Raincall with the latter being forced very wide as a consequence. Nearing the home turn Oh If Only moved outwards across the heels of Thrilling Key and lost momentum before rallying well to finish 2nd. |
Race 3 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C1 - 527 | This race was delayed 1 minute at the request of TAB Trackside. Cowboy Dreamer and Booming Time were the slowest to begin. General tightening on the first turn resulted in severe checks to Booming Time, Rockwell Reason and Cowboy Dreamer with Booming Time and Cowboy Dreamer also running wide as a consequence. Entering the back straight Booming Time was tightened, checked and lost 3 lengths before recovering to finish 5th. Entering the home straight Booming Time and Cowboy Dreamer came together for a stride. |
Race 4 | COCA COLA DASH - C1 - 318 | El Token, Distinctly Roys and Hypo Lomu were the slowest to begin. Kath, Awesome Ronnie, Distinctly Roys and Hypo Lomu jostled for several strides after 40 mtrs. Entering the first turn general tightening at the back of the field resulted in severe checks to Kath, Distinctly Roys, Hypo Lomu and El Token. |
Race 5 | COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C1/2 - 527 | Just The Don and Cosmic Eclipse were the slowest to begin. Astro Sharrie ran inwards at the start and checked Certainly. Astro Sharrie ran outwards on the first bend collided with and severely checked Cosmic Eclipse, Turbulence (fav and last) and Just The Don. A post race veterinary examination of Certainly detected injury requiring a stand down from racing. Certainly (L.Nixon). Right side lateral triceps torn and dropped. Rule 329. 30 days up to and including 21.01.06. (Registration papers to be presented to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement). |
Race 6 | 'FAMILY FUN DAY 5TH JANUARY' DASH - C1 - 318 | This race was delayed 1 minute at the request of TAB Trackside. Jimmytheone, Big Archie and Our Shereena were the slowest to begin. Bus Painter was denied racing room on the first turn and was then galloped on from behind by This Time Boots. Our Shereena ran very wide on the first turn. |
Race 7 | CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C2 - 527 | Under Time and Thrilling Gus (fav and 4th) were the slowest to begin. Prior to the first turn Coruba Sun and Gentle Lee came together with both being severely checked. Entering the first turn Coruba Sun was tightened and checked slightly. Frosty's Special ran outwards on the first turn and carted Thrilling Gus very wide. Under Time ran very wide on the first turn and recovered well to finish 3rd. Gentle Lee and Thrilling Fella came together for a stride on the first bend with both being slightly checked. Thrilling Match (K.Walsh). Torn pads. Vet certificate supplied. Race 8 | 'WE RACE 28TH DECEMBER' DASH - C2/3 - 318 | Jeepers and Just Hasty came together for a stride after 15 mtrs. Kiwi Fire and Ina Tizzy came together after 25 mtrs with both being slightly checked. Tempest Will and Jeepers came together for a stride after 40 mtrs with both being slightly checked. Kiwi Fire, Ina Tizzy and Just Hasty ran wide on the first turn. Jeepers drifted out from the first turn to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary examination detected injury requiring a stand down from racing. Jeepers (N.P.Green). Lacerated skin over metacarpals with bruising. Rule 329. 10 days up to and including 01.01.06. (Registration papers to be presented to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement). |
Race 9 | TRILLIAN TRUST DASH - C4/5 - 318 | Little Toot was observed and reported to be 'hard to box'. Go Tyler Go and Mr Pollywaffle were the slowest to begin. Little Toot ran inwards after the start causing tightening and resulting in severe checks to Osbourne, Stooge, Charlston Time and Go Tyler Go. Osbourne was checked nearing the first turn. Little Toot was galloped on from behind by Stooge on the first turn with the latter being severely checked. Mr Pollywaffle and Go Tyler Go came together for a stride on the bend. |
Race 10 | 'CHRISTMAS GREETINGS TO ALL' STAKES - C3/4 - 527 | Time Solves (winner) and Stinger Bart (3rd) were the slowest to begin. General tightening on the first bend resulted in checks to Secret Teddy, Thrilling Sassy, Coruba Storm, Stinger Bart and Shining Comet. Coruba Storm and Secret Teddy came together nearing the back straight with Coruba Storm being severely checked backwards and into the path of Shining Comet which was also severely checked as a result. Shortly after entering the back straight Krackem (fav) drifted quickly and finished a distant last. A post race veterinary examination detected injury requiring a stand down from racing. Krackem (D.van Meeuwen). Displaced medial tarsal bone / fractured hock. Rule 329. 30 days up to and including 21.01.06. (Registration papers to be presented to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement). |
