Into the bend an improving WORLD BANK tightened AWESOME AT LAST and JUST HASTY, both coming back on JEEPERS. WORLD BANK got up to win the event with the others filling the last three places. |
Race 3 | AUCKLAND OAKS - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1 | The favourite WINSOME SECRET jumped midfield and was hampered around the first bend when trying to improve along the inner settling well back. She ran on for fourth. |
Race 4 | 'FAMILY FUN DAY 5TH JANUARY' DASH - C4/5 - 318 | GO TYLER GO and SUE VAN GILL ran wide around the bend when racing at the rear. They never improved. |
Race 5 | AUCKLAND OAKS - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1 | The favourite WINSOME GEM led into the first bend, running away to win easily. Around the first bend BASSAI DAI and TENT TOP tangled when racing at the rear. They lost all chance never improving during the running. ROCHDALE LASS (Reed/ Thompson) ineligible to compete. Rule 172. Trainers fined $50.00. |
Race 6 | CAROL'S TAB DASH - C0 - 318 | WAIRANGI BAY, DREAMS ARE FREE and DELABILITY were very slow to jump settling at the rear. Into the bend WATCH MY FRECKLE and ANDWAYN came together checking an improving DELABILITY. These dogs lost all chance finishing well back. |
Race 7 | STREETS ICE CREAM STAKES - C1 - 527 | LAUREN AUDER and BONIFIED tangled around the first bend running wide. Soon after WHATA CHARM and ONA RUN came togther both losing ground. WHATA CHARM finished strongly for third with the others midfield. TIPPY SOPRANO who led for a greater part of the race faded in the straight to finish last. A post race veterinary check revealed nothing amiss. |
Race 8 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C2 - 527 | SEA DRIFTER was tightened into the first bend checking out and interfering with CERTAINLY, THRILLING FELLA, THRILLING GUS and KING CALIBRE. THRILLING GUS ran on strongly for second with the others near the rear. |
Race 9 | COCA-COLA DASH - C1 - 318 | OUR SHEREENA, JIMMITOM and PASCO PRINCESS came together into the bend losing all chance. They finished at the rear. |
