Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Trainer MM Grant was fined $25.00 for a breach of Rule 262.1.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned under Rule 134.10 into the actions of owner/trainer GW Clark during the course of the meeting.
Trainer D Fahey was charged with a breach of Rule 135.1 and was fined $75.00.
Kennel Steward J Mills was charged with a breach of Rules 135.1 and 164.5 and was fined $75.00.

| Race 5 | HAPPY NEW YEAR SPRINT - C1 - 310 | This race was almost three minutes late to start due to handler T Cairns being late to prepare his dog for the event. It was established that he was concluding the kennelling of his dogs for later events. He was warned of his obligations. ICONIC LADY drove to the lead from the jump leading all the way to win well. Into the bend CLAN IVORY ran wide losing ground to finish seventh. |
| Race 6 | SANTA'S SURPRISE SPRINT - C1 - 310 | TWO TIME ROUND was difficult to box requiring the assistance of the starter to box. Following discussion with the Starter and Trainer TWO TIME ROUND was assessed as a 'hard to box' dog and his papers endorsed accordingly. TWO TIME ROUND checked out off LIGHT FROST around the bend running wide into the straight to finish last. MULBERRY FLASH (KJ Cassidy) was a late scratching at the Southland GRC on 7 December 2005. | Race 7 | 'THANKS TRINITY QUEEN, 100K' SPRINT - C3/4 - 310 | GOODTIME DEN and HOMEBUSH DASHER drifted out after the jump finishing well back. Into the bend KOLA'S WEAPON was tightened losing ground. He finished on for fourth. |
| Race 8 | THANKS RAIMA SPRINT - C5 - 310 | OCTOBER PLACARD drifted to the rear after the jump. Into the bend LOCHINVAR RHETT struck TARARA APE checking out and colliding with PAPPILONG with a check to an improving OCTOBER PLACARD. These dogs lost all chance finishing at the rear. |

| Race 10 | HAPPY HOLIDAYS STAKES - C1 - 545 | MULBERRY TRICK ran inwards after the jump tightening GATLIN BALE, RAILROAD LAD and ENOUGH TIME who settled at the rear. Into the back straight the winner SANTO FLEX tightened OZARK MOON and MULBERRY TRICK as he drove to the lead. They filled the minor placings behind SANTO FLEX. | Race 11 | JOHNNY STEWART HIGH FLYIN '545' - C2/3 - 545 | The favourite HOMEBUSH BONNIE and CLAN NOVA were tightened soonafter the jump settling at the rear before running wide around the first bend. Into the back straight CLAN ORA and MUSCOVY came together coming back on NIRIMBA ASSASSIN and CLAN NOVA. NIRIMBA ASSASSIN ran on for third with the others at the rear. | Race 12 | OTAGO CLASSIC - R/A - 545 | HOMEBUSH LUKE and SUMMER SLICK came together soon after the jump settling at the rear. HOMEBUSH LUKE finished fourth with SUMMER SLICK last. ANNA LEE WHISKY drove to the lead by the first bend leading all the way. HOMEBUSH WAYNE (JT McInerney) stood down at Southland GRC on 7 December 2005. A post race veterinary check revealeda injury to the left gracilus muscle with a 14 day stand down recommended. Enroute to the start it was noted that LOCHINVAR ROCKET, handled by trainer D Fahey was wearing rug number 4 instead of his number 9. He was charged with a breach of Rule 135.1 and was fined $75.00 JESSE JOHN (P&B Conner) fight wound to right shoulder. Veterinary certificate supplied.
