Judicial report: Weather: Fine A charge alleging a breach of NZGRA Rule 255 (Notice of Withdrawal) against Trainer S.P.Clark (Destiny's Run - Late scratching in Race 9) was laid with the AGRC Judicial Committee (Mr B.McGhie). This greyhound had been scratched at the Waikato GRC meeting held on 11.11.05 and stood down under Rule 259 until 16.11.05. The AGRC had not received notification of withdrawal from tonight's race meeting from the trainer. Following the consideration of evidence the charge was upheld and a fine of $50.00 imposed.
************
Trainer G.C.Farrell lodged a complaint regarding the condition of the track surface which was referred to the Judicial Steward (B.McGhie) for further investigation. A subsequent inspection of the track by the Judicial Steward and Stipendiary Steward followed by consultation with the Track Manager determined that every effort was being made to address the concerns of Officials and Trainers and the surface had improved since the previous race meeting held on 08.11.05. Annual resurfacing of the track had taken place the week before.
At no time has the track been considered unsafe which has been endorsed by the fact that no race related injuries were reported at tonight's race meeting.
************
Race 5. During the pre race 'stir up' procedure for this race the lure carriage lost power and stopped resulting in the lure carriage being changed prior to the race. It was subsequently determined by the Club electrician that a broken wire had caused the loss of power which was then repaired and the original lure carriage reinstated for the remaining races. Race 5 started 9 minutes late, Race 6 started 5 minutes late and all remaining races (7-10) were rescheduled by TAB Trackside to start 2 minutes later than the advertised times.
***********
A AGRC Judicial Committee Hearing was reconvened to consider charges in relation to alleged breaches of NZGRA Rules 226 and 256 (a) by Trainer R.O'Regan resulting from the scratching of the greyhound 'Tourist Jack' prior to the AGRC race meeting held on 30.10.05. Following the presentation of evidence and subsequent questioning the Judicial Committee (Mr N.McGough) reserved his decision. Mr McGough also advised the Hearing that following an application from the new owners of 'Tourist Jack for a review of the original penalty (30 days stand down) imposed on the greyhound under Rule 257.1 and in accordance with the review of penalty provided for under that rule, that he had now rescindered the stand down and 'Tourist Jack' could now be nominated to race.
***********
The AGRC Judicial Committee (Mr N. McGough) decision in relation to charges laid against Mrs K.O'Regan under NZGRA Rules 130.1 and 130.2 resulting from an Official Complaint received from the Officiating Veterinary Surgeon (Mr J.Mason) at the race meeting held on 16.10.05 has resulted in both charges being upheld and a fine of $700.00 and costs of $100.00 being imposed.
***********
An application from Miss N.Ryan for a Handler's licence was approved following two on track assessments.
