Judicial report: Weather: Overcast An AGRC Judicial Committee Hearing was reconvened in relation to charges under NZGRA Rules 130.1 and 130.2 against Mrs K.O'Regan who was not in attendance due to unforeseen circumstances. Following the presentation of available evidence, the Hearing was adjourned by the Chairman (N.McGough) to allow for further communication with Mrs O'Regan in relation to the evidence presented.

An AGRC Judicial Committee Hearing was opened and adjourned under NZGRA Rules 123.8, 256(a) and 226 at the request of the Stipendiary Steward in relation to the scratching of greyhound 'Tourist Jack' from Race 3.
***********
Race 3. Sometime after this race concerns were expressed by Trainer P.Henley ( He's Off -2nd) as to the lure distance in front of the leading greyhound which in his opinion was excessive and had caused He's Off to be beaten. No official Notice of Objection under NZGRA Rule 315 was received from Mr Henley.
NZGRA Rule 304.1 states that 'it shall be the 'aim' of the lure driver to take the lure and maintain it at a distance of not less than five metres nor more than seven metres from the leading greyhound at all times during the running of the race'.
On reviewing the video coverage of this race it should be mentioned that the lure and the distance of it was not visible for the entire race however when it was, it did not in my opinion, appear to be further ahead of the leading greyhound (He's Off) than the desired seven metres.
He's Off was a clear leader in the race from entering the first turn and was only run down in the very last stride to be beaten a head by the strong finishing run of Ridley Reason. The lure position was visible in the home straight and I am satisfied that it was within an acceptable distance of the leading greyhound and at no time excessive.
The matter was discussed briefly with the Lure Driver for this race T.Green who stated that he did not consider the lure distance to be excessive.
I do not intend to take any further action in relation to the matter on this occasion.
************
Race 8. During the repositioning of the lure carriage for this race it was observed that the exterior cover of the carriage had become loose and needed to be secured prior to the race being run. Following the consideration of options in order to achieve this it was decided to replace the entire lure carriage in order to remove potential operational problems and ensure total safety for the greyhounds competing. This was completed and the race started 6 minutes late. The fault was determined to have been caused by a bolt having vibrated out of the exterior cover.
