Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Race 1. The race performance of Pats Pride (M.K.Kimber) was considered to be unsatisfactory and a warning given in relation to any repeat such performance. Mrs Kimber's representative on-course (B.van Meeuwen) was advised and this was followed by direct advice to the trainer by the Stipendiary Steward on 17.09.09.

Race 1 JIMBO'S PETFOOD STAKES - C0 - 527 Thrilling Larisa, Triway and Joebees Jet were the slowest to begin. On the first turn Bassai Dai was tightened and moved outwards slightly taking the path of Joebees Jet which was checked and then ran very wide, losing valuable ground. Pats Pride drifted on the first turn and appeared to have difficulty keeping up thereafter, finishing a distant last. This greyhound's overall performance was discussed with the trainer's representative on-course and a warning given.
Race 2 EGH INTERNET GREYHOUND DASH - C1 - 318 Dr Dal Santo and Ina Tizzy were the slowest to begin. Leslies Pearl and This Time Boots came together after the start with both being checked. Tahuna Teazer made contact with the running rail entering the first turn checking itself and then moving outwards causing severe checks to Ina Tizzy, Dr Dal Santo and This Time Boots.
Race 3 MCGHIE PLUMBING DISTANCE SIX PACK - C1/2d - 603 The Starter made the decision to hand start this race after the field had been boxed due to his concerns regarding the automatic system. Rialto Reason and Shining Comet (winner) were the slowest to begin. Run To Paradise was denied racing room on the first turn. Den Of Fire and Judyanne Bale jostled for several strides in the home straight with a round to go. Entering the second turn Rialto Reason moved outwards resulting in severe checks to Den Of Fire and Judyanne Bale.
Race 4 CAROL'S TAB DASH - C3 - 318 Awesome At Last drifted to last shortly after the start, raced up quickly to be handy on the bend then ran wide entering the home straight losing valuable ground at a crucial stage and finishing 4th. General jostling commenced after 25 mtrs and continued to the first turn resulting in checks to Lindale Express, Goldfinger Jewel, Awesome Mystery (winner) and Christopher Bale.
Race 5 MANUKAU HURDLES FEATURE - C1/2h - 527 Aranui Mist, Aranui Pick and Aranui Flash (winner) were the slowest to begin. Pitstock Jazz stumbled after jumping the first hurdle and then jumped hesitantly at the rear thereafter along with Aranui Speedy. Prince Zidane (favourite) was a clear leader approaching the second to last hurdle which it clipped and as a consequence fell heavily. A post race veterinary examination detected no injury.
Race 6 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C5 - 318 Tarrah drifted to last shortly after the start and along with Nasty Streak remained very wide in the running until nearing the home turn. Gold Strike and China's Fire came together for a stride entering the home turn with Gold Strike then moving outwards sharply.
Race 7 STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C1/2 - 318 There was limited video coverage of the back straight and bend in this race due to a camera fault. Just Hasty, Camcaff, Rumpole and Tempest Will jostled and checked each other several times between the start and the first turn. Just Hasty ran outwards on the first turn checking Camcaff and forcing it over extra ground. A post race veterinary examination on Hang On Mate detected an injury requiring a stand down from racing. Hang On Mate (D.M.Smith) Spiking to hind outside toe including bruising and soreness. Rule 329. 8 days up to and including 23.09.05.
Race 8 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C1/2 - 527 Homebush Goliath was slow to begin. Lika Cruise ran inwards sharply after the start severely checking itself and Tourist Jack. Entering the first turn Thrilling Red moved inwards causing general tightening and resulting in severe checks to itself, Tourist Jack, Homebush Goliath and Lika Cruise. A post race veterinary examination on Thrilling Red detected an injury requiring a stand down from racing. Thrilling Red (K.Walsh). Lameness left fore and soreness in left shoulder. Rule 329. 10 days up to and including 25.09.05. (Registration papers to be presented to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 9 RADIO TRACKSIDE STAKES - C1 - 527 Last Account, Under Time (winner) and Maximum were the slowest to begin. Friendly Virus and Davron Express came together for a stride after the start. Tempest Lass ran inwards after the start checking Friendly Virus. Friendly Virus ran outwards across the heels of Tempest Lass on the first bend. Virtuoso moved inwards to the rail on the turn out of the back straight which caused Southern Rush to be tightened and severely checked. Under Time ran outwards in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination on Tempest Lass detected an injury requiring a stand down from racing. Tempest Lass ( J.A.Cleaver). Left hind toe dislocation. Rule 329. 14 days up to and including 29.09.05. ( Registration papers to be presented to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 10 MANUKAU DASH - C3/4 - 318 Southern Eclipse was slow to begin. Little Toot ran inwards after 30 mtrs causing tightening and checks to itself, Osbourne, Jack Rhode, Kiwi Fire and I'm Wishing. Kiwi Fire ran outwards nearing the first turn severely checking Southern Eclipse. Jack Rhode ran very wide on the home turn losing ground at a crucial stage and then ran on strongly in the straight for 4th. Stooge (N.P.Green). Late scratching. Bilaterally sore pectoral muscles. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 20.09.05.
