Judicial report: Weather: Showery. A non - tote race was run prior to the first race and won by Big Archie (K. Sutch-Jones).
Distance 375 mtrs. Time 22.05 sec. 2nd Sable Raeder (K.Symes) 3rd Waitamo (D.Annette).
The winner Big Archie was swabbed. Post race. Card 14895.

The Club advised that it is continuing with maintenance on the 457 mtr starting boxes in response to the concerns raised at the previous race meeting.

Race 1 WELCOME TO CAMBRIDGE DASH - C4/5 - 375 Blue Paragon drifted on the first turn and never improved thereafter finishing last. Delta Belle moved outwards slightly after entering the home straight and checked More Gold at a vital stage of the race.
Race 2 ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN CHRISTCHURCH DASH - C1 - 375 This race started 1 minute late due to a request from TAB Trackside. Diamond Ditto was slow to begin and made up ground well for 2nd placing. Achieve A Dream ran outwards after 20 mtrs and checked Tandias Girl and itself. Achieve A Dream drifted to last on the first turn and stayed there.
Race 3 MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457 Ima Freeman was scratched due to injury ex Manawatu 04.08.05. Thrilling Dingo and Mr Horatio drifted back soon after the start. Cowboy Dreamer ran outwards at the start checking Im The Boss and Thrilling Dingo. Sixteen Gauge was tightened slightly after the start. Nearing the first turn Cowboy Dreamer, Im The Boss and Roulette Reason (favourite) came together with all three runners being severely checked. Roulette Reason ran very wide on the bend. Ima Freeman (C.J.Morris) Rule 329 ex Manawatu GRC 04.08.05.
Race 4 DELEGATES DASH - C2/3 - 375 Johnnies Luck was scratched due to injury. This race started 2 minutes late due to a request from TAB Trackside. King Of Dreams was standing upright as the starting box lids opened and missed the jump by a length then raced wide throughout finishing 7th. Just Hasty was hampered slightly on the first turn. Winsome Rush and Goldfinger Jewel came together twice on the bend. Johnnies Luck (D.van Meeuwen). Injured right deltoid muscle. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 17.08.05.
Race 5 GREYHOUNDS ANNUAL AWARDS STAKES - C1 - 457 Gentle Lee and Tent Top came together after the start. Charmaine Bale and Just Curly came together after 30 mtrs. Gentle Lee ran outwards sharply and Charmaine Bale inwards after 60 mtrs causing tightening and checks to themselves, Bonza Bill (winner), Just Curly and Tent Top. Just Curly endeavoured to move outwards on the bend and checked Charmaine Bale and Colonel Hogan.
Race 6 ADDINGTON SPRINT - C2 - 375 Camcaff was scratched due to illness. Bus Painter was standing upright when the box lids opened and missed the start by 3 lengths. Hove Dale was slow to begin. Rollover Angel was denied racing room on the first turn and also suffered a slight check. Rollover Angel galloped on the heels of Hove Dale nearing the home turn. Awesome At Last (favourite and winner) ran very wide into the home straight. Camcaff (B & L Craik).Diarrhoea / dehydration. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 07.09.05. Bus Painter ( D.L.Annette). Fractured left hind toe. Rule 329. 14 days up to and including 23.08.05.(Registration papers to be presented to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 7 SATURDAY NIGHT DOGS @ MANUKAU STADIUM - C1/2 - 457 Baltasar and Just The Don were slowest to begin. Maxine's Beauty moved outwards slightly on the first turn and checked Thrilling Dash.
Race 8 DINSDALE DISTANCE - C1d - 747 Jeffies Fella was scratched due to injury. Kiwi Assassin (favourite) was tightened and checked at the start. Entering the first turn Mintie Moment and Sable Gold came together with both being severely checked. Jeffies Fella (G & S Hayden-Holmes). Injury to tail tip and right shoulder. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 18.08.05.
Race 9 RACEWAY STAKES - C4 - 375 Rickita Bale was scratched due to seasonal condition. Marissa Bale stumbled at the start. Hostile Arch (favourite and winner) ran inwards at the start and checked Marissa Bale. Osbourne moved to the rail on the first turn and severely checked Winsome Dot which never recovered finishing last. Rickita Bale (G.N.Pomeroy). Seasonal condition. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 07.09.05.
Race 10 RACING @ MANUKAU SATURDAY 13 AUGUST - C5 - 457 Maxi The Taxi, Charlston State and Romberg Reason came together after 30 mtrs with all three receiving slight checks. Big Sam Junior (favourite and winner) and Maxi The Taxi came together for a stride on the bend. Pelican Creek (G & S Hayden-Holmes). 100 km Rule 254. No penalty.
