Judicial report: Weather: Fine A Judicial Committee hearing was reconvened into the malfunction of the starting boxes in Race 9 at the previous race meeting held on 31.07.05. Further information and explanation was obtained from the Club's Electrician (G.Calverley) and Starter (D.Henwood) in addition to the reviewing of video coverage of the false start including the pre race preparation at the 527 mtr boxes.
It was agreed that assessment of the malfunction and subsequent repairs made by Mr Calverley prior to today's race meeting, be endorsed as appropriate.
************
Race 6. The lid of the starting boxes at the 527 mtr start failed to open in what appeared to be a repetition of the malfunction experienced in Race 9 at the previous race meeting. The Stipendiary Steward and Judicial Committee ( N. McGough) therefore reopened the hearing and referred the matter back to the Club and Mr Calverley for further investigation and report. The next race meeting is scheduled for 13.08.05.
Following this race the Stipendiary Steward reminded Mr Henwood of the procedure required when a false start is declared.
