Judicial report: Weather: Fine An inquiry was opened into the scratching of Tambooli (Race 4) and High Flyin Teddy (Race 17). Club Secretary, T.Music, reported that these scratchings had been left on the office answerphone along with a veterinary certificate by fax. He was absent from the office late afternoon and the scratchings were found by him at 9am on race morning. Inquiries with the TAB immediately revealed that it was too late to include the first reserves in the fields. He also stated that he had a policy of leaving the office answerphone off, so that scratchings after hours, were received by him at home or on his mobile but on this occasion had not returned to the office after trials to turn the answerphone off.

Surclub Girl ran outwards after the start checking Solitary Light and then ran very wide on the home turn losing valuable ground. In to the first bend Homebush Bite, Mulberry Trick and Birdie Jewel were checked as a result of tightening by dogs on their outer. Homebush Bite ran on well along the rail for 3rd. Soon after this incident Happy's Choice and Lignum Vitae collided, both drifting out to finish at the rear. Pareora Angel (M.J.Flipp). Kennel cough. Vet certificate supplied. | Race 15 | CONTAINERS DIRECT INTERTRADE STAKES - C1 - 520 | Lynny Lou drifted out in the home straight to finish a long last. This greyhound was ordered to undergo a post race veterinary check which detected no injury. Trainer, L.H.Anderton was spoken to regarding this greyhound's performance and he advised that it had tied up. He also confirmed that the greyhound's immediate racing programme would be over sprint distances. |
