Race 1 SPICERS PAPER DASH - C0 - 295 TONY THE GREEK jumped to a clear lead to run away and win easily. Into the first corner ARANUI FLASH hit KINSELLA'S hindquarters both losing momentum. They ran on to finish midfield. KARAOKE PHIL who settled midfield eased around the bend before running wide. A charge under Rule 322(1)(b) was preferred against KARAOKE PHIL with the dog stood down for a period of three months up to and including 18 July 2005. KARAOKE PHIL (J Naylor) Rule 322(1)(b). Failed to persue.Three months up to and including 18 July 2005 and to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179.
Race 2 ACCSYS FOR QUICKBOOKS - C0 - 525 CALLEY RIAZ was scratched due to an ear. injury. HOMEBUSH TONY was slow to jump settling last before improving along the rail but drifted out over the concluding stages to finish last. MARIOS MATE ran wide around the first corner taking THRILLING FLOSS wide on the track. THRILLING FLOSS finished strongly in the straight for second with MARIOS MATE midfield. CALLEY RIAZ OK Marron Rule 259 Has an ear injury and was presented and stood down for 5 days to and including 23.04.05.
Race 3 ANGLO UPHOLSTERERS DASH - C0 - 295 TESHAMORE was scratched due to a hip injury NGAPUHI GIRL was slow to jump settling last. Into the first bend CLARENDON BOB, AUK and CLAN MURDOCH came together losing ground. These dogs filled the last four places. TESHAMORE I.D. Moore. Rule 259 Has a hip injury and was presented and stood down for 3 days to and including 20.04.05
Race 4 AUTO AUCTIONS DASH - C1 - 295 The favourite HOMEBUSH HOPE was slow to jump and when improving into the first bend came together with SECRET PRINCE with HOMEBUSH HOPE falling heavily with resultant checks to MIAMIGO and DESTROYER DOTTIE. Into the home straight CATERING QUEEN ran outwards checking KNOCKABOUT NELLY both finishing midfield. HOMEBUSH HOPE was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed a fracture right foreleg resulting in the dogs euthanasia. HOMEBUSH HOPE (JT McInerney) Rule 329. Suffered a fractured foreleg and euthanased on humane grounds.
Race 5 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C0 - 525 TIMELY CHAINSAW was a late scratching due to being overweight and the Trainer was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 269 (3). FINN O'RILEY was very slow to jump, settling last and finishing at the rear with FIRST LADY who drifted out during the event after being handy early. Turning for home ARANUI TAMY fought with ANGELICA. A charge under Rule 322(1)(a) was preferred against ARANUI TAMY with the dog stood down for a period of one month up to and including 18 May 2005. TIMELY CHAINSAW (RT Hicks) was a late scratching at kennelling when weighing in 2.9kgs over his last race start weight. Rule 269(3) Trainer Hicks fined $100.00. ARANUI TAMY (MN Boyd) Rule 322(1)(a). Fought during the race and stood down for one month up to and including 18 May 2005 and to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179.
Race 6 EL CHEAPO CARS - C1 - 295 HOMEBUSH KIM was a late scratching when found to have a sore and swollen hind leg. PERFECT BREEZE was slow to jump, settled last and then running on for a distant fourth. Soon after jumping THIRTY A WEEK ran inwards checking BANKSIDE A GO GO and SAILAH JAYNE who lost ground. Into the first bend LESLIES PEARL and BANKSIDE A GO GO came together losing ground. BRACES MY DEAR faultered into the first bend finishing a distant last. A post race veterinary check revealed a fractured hock resulting in euthanasia on humane grounds. HOMEBUSH KIM (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kennelling when found to have a swollen hock. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 23 April 2005. BRACES MY DEAR (LD Bell) Rule 329 Suffered a fractured hock and euthanased on humane grounds..
Race 7 THE TRUSTS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION - C1 - 525 BALLYRUE ZING was scratched due to a foot injury. The race was all clear. BALLYRUE ZING (S Gardner) foot infection. Rule 259(3). 30 days up to and including 17 May 2005.
Race 8 B & P ENGINEERING DASH - C1 - 295 HOMEBUSH LUCKY was checked on the first corner and went back to the rear and could not make up the lost ground. SUPREME CHANCE moved out on the bend and bumped ICEYMORE who lost his forward momentum for a few strides which cost him the chance of a placing.
Race 9 DAVE BUSCH MEMORIAL - C1 - 525 WINSOME FANTASY was scratched due to a spider bite. HOMEBUSH MOODY was scratched Ex Southland on 17.04.05 HOMEBUSH MARGRET was away well but began to lose ground around the first bend and finished several lengths last. She was examined by the vet and stood down for 5 days with a slight hip injury. WINSOME FANTASY (BL Atwood ) spider bite. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 3 days up to and including 21 April 2005. HOMEBUSH MOODY (JT McInerney) scratched at Southland GRC on 17.April 2005. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 26.April 2005. HOMEBUSH MARGRET H.Cairns Rule 329 Suffered a slight hip injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 23.04.05.
Race 10 LOCATION CATERING DASH - C2 - 295 TURBO JEWEL and LAKOTA GOLD were checked on the first corner, went back to the rear and they stayed there.
Race 11 WILKINSON PRINT STAKES - C1/2 - 525 CLAN IVORY was tightened in the first few strides and fell suffering a slight injury to a foreleg and was stood down for 3 days. CLAN IVORY H.Cairns Rule 329 Fell and suffered slight leg soreness and stood down for3 days to and including 21.04.05.
Race 12 NEW ZEALAND COMMUNITY TRUST - C1 - 525 JEMALONG EASTERN and SANTOFT TIGER were scratched after gaining a start in race 9. The race was all clear..
Race 13 THE SIGNTEAM - WAINUI - C1 - 295 All clear.
Race 14 CAPITAL CITY TAB'S - C1 - 525 KIWI MANA was `the slowest away and dropped back to follow the field by four lengths before making ground well for 5th placing.
Race 15 CLASS 1D FEATURE - C1dq - 758 Heat 1 The hot favourite THRILLING SAM ran right away from the opposition to win with ease in track record time.
Race 16 LION FOUNDATION DASH - C2/3 - 295 The winner STATELY CHARM fell after crossing the finish line and was examined by the vet and stood down for 3 days with slight shoulder soreness. STATELY CHARM D.Garrett Rule 329 Fell after the line and suffered slight shoulder soreness. Stood down for 3 days to and including 21.04.05.
Race 17 RESTRICTED AGE FEATURE - R/A - 525 One of the better supported runners BELLA DREAMER was checked on the first corner and went back to last. She battled from there and finished in last place.
Race 18 THE INNER CITY TAB DASH - C4/5 - 295 TEDDY TYLER was very slow to begin and lost several lengths but made ground well to finish 4th. IOMAN began well to be handy early but then faded away to finish several lengths last.
