Judicial report: Weather: Fine / Cool Race 1. Following information received from Kennel Stewards the trainer of Queen Rowley, H.R.Bond, was reminded of Rules 164.5 and 243 in relation to pre race strapping requirements.

Race 8. Following this race Trainer N.P.Green was reminded by the Judicial Steward of Rule 294.1(a) and in particular to the required manner in which the Club parade coats for handlers are to be worn.

Race 1 | SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA SPRINT - C1 - 375 | SISTER SAINTLY was scratched due to injury. BUBBA HOTEP and CHARLSTON FLASH came together after the start as well as FIRST SAMPLE and TE PUKE GOLD. TE PUKE GOLD and BUBBA HOTEP came together after 60 mtrs. TE PUKE GOLD galloped on the heels of BUBBA HOTEP on the first turn with both runners being severely checked. SISTER SAINTLY (B & L Craik). Toe operation. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 11.05.05. |
Race 2 | CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR STAKES - C1 - 457 | BALTASAR, JOHNNIES LUCK and CHARLSTON KID were slow to begin with the latter runner making up ground strongly to finish 3rd. CHARLSTON KID moved outwards nearing the first turn pushing and checking ENTICE. HOSTILE REIGN and INSIDE BLUE the favourite jostled on the first turn with both runners being checked as a result and a chain reaction of interference saw ENTICE being severely checked and forced into the path of BALTASAR which was also checked and lost all chance. |
Race 3 | WWW.DOGTIPS.NET.NZ SPRINT - C1 - 375 | NO INVITATION was scratched due to injury. MISS TRACEY LEE and GOLDFINGER JEWEL came together on the home turn causing both runners to lose momentum at a vital stage of the race. NO INVITATION (S.P.Clark). Leg laceration. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 12.05.05. |
Race 4 | HAMILTON STAKES - C3 - 457 | CHARMAINE BALE moved inwards on the first turn and came together with FOLLOW ME FROSTY which in turn tightened and checked BIG TEDDY BOY which went backwards quickly and hampered the favourite RIDLEY REASON. FOLLOW THE TREND ran outwards to take up a wider running position on the first turn. |
Race 5 | RAGLAN CLASSIC - R/A - 457 | SPECIAL FANCY was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' classification and was reported to be difficult. RUN TO PARADISE was slow to begin. HOSTILE ARCH led early then was tightened between STABILA BOSS and SPECIAL FANCY on the bend, lost two lengths and drifted thereafter to finish last with the other two runners in this incident finishing first and second respectively. FANCY STYLE and WILLANDRA BALE came together twice between the start and the first turn. |

Race 7 | SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA STAKES - C4/5 - 457 | KEEN PRECISION and RAHENY REASON (the winner) came together twice prior to the first turn. KEEN PRECISION moved to the rail after 100 mtrs tightening IDOL APPEAL (the favourite) which was checked slightly then drifted and never improved thereafter finishing 7th. This runner was ordered to undergo a post race veterinary examination which detected no abnormality. RAHENY REASON and CLOCK STOPPER came together after 120 mtrs. |
Race 8 | LEAMINGTON SPRINT - C1/2 - 375 | RICH FIRE and KING OF DREAMS were slow to begin with the latter runner making up ground well to finish 4th. KAIMAI GOLD was tightened by SUE VAN GILL on the first turn then made contact with the running rail and was severely checked as a result. KAIMAI GOLD then made contact with the hind of THIS TIME BOOTS in the home straight and received a further check. |
Race 9 | TOKOROA STAKES - C1 - 457 | BOOMING TIME was slow to begin then made up ground strongly for 3rd. HOSTILE GIRLIE moved outwards on the first turn checking and then hampering GRAPHICS slightly. |
Race 10 | PAPAMOA TAVERN STAKES - C1/2 - 457 | MR BELL was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' classification and was reported to box without difficulty. CHARLSTON STATE was slow to begin. MISS TEDDY BEAR and STYLUS came together after 30 mtrs. MR BELL moved outwards nearing the first turn severely checking MINTIE MOMENT and MISS TEDDY BEAR with MINTIE MOMENT then making contact with the running rail and losing all chance. WORLD PRIORITY led early, was tightened slightly on the first turn and drifted quickly checking TARTARE SAUCE in the process then 20 mtrs further on had it's heels clipped by TARTARE SAUCE. |
