Judicial report: Weather: Sunny and warm Owner JS Holdem was fined $25.00 under Rule 135(1) for wearing a blue and white shirt when handling in Race 11.
Owner/Trainer J McCook was fined $100.00 for a breach of Rule 349.1 after pleading guilty to a charge of using obscene language towards a steward following the running of Race 11.
A inquiry under Rule 349.1 against JS Holdem was opened and adjourned regarding an incident at the kennel block following Race 11 pending further inquiries.

Race 1 PEDIGREE ADVANCE STAKES - C2 - 520 LOCHINVAR FIRE drifted to the rear after the jump. Around the first bend LOCHINVAR FIRE, RAZOR ROBERTSON and IRINKA CHOCO came together when racing at the rear losing all chance. They finished near the rear. RAILROAD TRUMP (MJ Flipp) left wrist pain on flexion. Veterinary certicate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 19 April 2005.
Race 2 BILLS BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C0 - 295 PUMBA CASS drifted to the rear on jumping finishing amongst the tailenders. WHATA DUDE and TYRONES AWESOME came together after jumping. Both improved quickly with WHATA DUDE and LIGNUM VITAE coming together around the first corner. TYRONES AWESOME ran on to win well with WHATA DUDE fourth. LIGNUM VITAE finished last.
Race 3 C.T.V SPRINT - C0 - 295 RED SCAMP and KING CURTIS jumped to the lead from the boxes with RED SCAMP turning his head and moving outwards tightening LABELLED URGENT and BIRDIE JEWEL. Soon afterwards MAXIMUM struck BIRDIE JEWEL'S hindquarters and she fell as a result with MAXIMUM being badly checked. BIRDIE JEWEL regained her feet and finished the event. A post race veterinary check revealed nothing amiss. Into the first bend RED SCAMP ran outwards forcing KING CURTIS wide, he losing all chance as a result. RED SCAMP balanced up and finished strongly in the straight for a close second. TRINITY CHARM who was trailing these two dogs ran wide as a result finishing near the rear with KING CURTIS and MAXIMUM. A charge under Rule 322(1)(b) was preferred against RED SCAMP who was stood down for one month up to and including 11 May 2005. She was also found to have an injury to the second toe medial ligament of the left fore with a stand down of 28 days recommended. RED SCAMP (JT McInerney) Rule 322 (1)(b) one month up to and including 11 May 2005 and to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179. Also sustained second toe medial ligament damage to an old injury. Rule 329. 28 days up to and including 9 May 2005.
Race 4 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND STAKES - C1 - 520 The favourite HOMEBUSH GOLIATH was slow to jump from the inside box, before recovering quickly along the rail coming in contact with STATELY APPEAL into the first bend. He ran on for third with STATELY APPEAL finishing near the rear. LAST ACCOUNT (J&D Fahey) lower shoulder muscle pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 19 April 2005.
Race 5 SOUTHERN DOG ROLL SPRINT - C1 - 295 AWESOME KEV was slow to jump settling last and never improving. The favourite JEMALONG EASTERN drifting after jumping settling well back never improving during the running. OHOKA FLIRT (LJ Waretini) was a late scratching at kennelling when found with a temperature. Veterinary certicate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 16 April 2005.
Race 6 GARDEN CITY CHEM DRY SPRINT - C0 - 295 NOCRONS RAIDER lost all chance at the start missing the kick by six lengths. He never improved finishing last. LOOKOUT LARRY was tardy at the start settling well back before improving running on for third. HEAD PREFECT, SWEET BABY JEWEL and IMPASSE ran wide around the bend losing all chance finishing midfield.
Race 7 SUPER PETS MAIDEN STAKES - C0 - 520 ASTRO SHARRIE settled at the rear running wide around the first bend fnishing last. The favourite MARSHELLA led until the turn before drifting to finish fourth.
Race 8 KOLORFUL KANVAS SPRINT - C2 - 295 COBBITTY GIRL was checked into the first corner coming back on GOODTIME DEN and HOMEBUSH DIESEL. They lost all chance filling the last three places.
Race 9 DAVID EMERSON CONSULTANCY STAKES - C1 - 520 GIVEN THE BLUES and INCOGNITO came together into the first bend losing ground. INCOGNITO ran on for fifth with GIVEN THE BLUES last.
Race 10 CONTAINERS DIRECT INTERTRADE SPRINT - C1 - 295 Into the first bend SWEET RAIDER was tightened when vying for the lead, drifting out and checking ANGEL EYES and HOMEBUSH FIN. They filled the last three places.
Race 11 INDEPENDENT CARPETS CRANFORD STAKES - C1 - 520 ANXIOUS MOMENTS was slow to jump settling last finishing on for fourth. Into the first corner the favourite TO LIVE BY was tightened falling as a result, regaining his feet and finishing the event. A post race veterinary check revealed no injury. Around the first bend DAPPER DENA, INDICATIVE and COMMANDO JEWEL came together. INDICATIVE and DAPPER DENA ran on to fill the minor placings with COMMANDO JEWEL finishing near the rear. OZARK MOON (JV Busch) right hock pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 24 April 2005.
Race 12 RACEWAY DASH - C1 - 295 IDOLISE ME was slow to jump. Into the first bend HOMEBUSH SONYA and WEAR THE FERN were tightened by HOMEBUSH STEVE when vying for the lead. They came back on trailing dogs IDOLISE ME, HOMEBUSH SMITHY, KOLA'S WEAPON and SAINT BEDE who lost all chance. WEAR THE FERN, HOMEBUSH SMITHY and KOLA'S WEAPON fell as a result. HOMEBUSH SMITHY and KOLA'S WEAPON regained their feet and completed the event. They were subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed no injury. WEAR THE FERN ran across the harness track and through the harness stabling area onto adjacent roads and to date has not been located. HOMEBUSH STEVE and KNOWLEDGE were the only dogs to escape the incident running on to finish first and second. IDOLISE ME ran on for third.
Race 13 APRIL SPRINT - C1 - 295 The favourite ROLE MODEL was slow to jump and came in contact with PARNELL JEWEL into the first bend both finishing towards the rear.
Race 14 WILSONS SPORTS BAR & TAB STAKES - C1 - 520 SPIRIT OF OZARK was very slow to jump settling last. The favourite TIMELY FLIRT was tardy at the jump settling well back before improving through the field to take the lead into the back straight to run away and win easily. Into the home straight BOMBER BELLE galloped on LIGHT FROST who was badly checked with resultant checks to WHATA PLAN and PAREORA JACK. All four finished at the rear with SPIRIT OF OZARK. WAVE THE FERN (GA Cleeve) stood down at Christchurch GRC on 7 April 2005. Rule 329. 21 days up to and including 26 April 2005.
Race 15 HALSWELL TAVERN DASH - C1 - 295 JUST AWESOME stood in the boxes missing the jump by five lengths finishing a distant last.
Race 16 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING SPRINT - C1 - 295 The favourite AQUA FRED was slow to jump settling a clear last never improving during the running.
Race 17 CHALLENGE OPAWA STAKES - C2 - 520 MISS MOONWALK raced in tight quarters around the first bend settling midfield. She battled on to finish fourth.
Race 18 NUTRI-ZING SPRINT - C2 - 295 HOMEBUSH PHIL drifted to last soon after the jump. Into the first bend WHATA TOWN was checked coming back on MULBERRY FLASH and SMART SPICE. These three dogs and HOMEBUSH PHIL filled the last four places.
Race 19 RADIO TRACKSIDE SPRINT - C4 - 295 HOMEBUSH LUMP and GLITZY OPAL came together around the bend resulting in GLITZY OPAL falling. She regained her feet and finished the event. She was subject to a post race veterinary check which revealed nothing amiss. SHIRAZ VINE, JANE'S COMMANDO and ACE BIRD were checked as a result of the fall losing all chance.
Race 20 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C3/4 - 520 ASTRA NOMACOOL drifted the rear after jumping. DR ABERNATHY ran wide around the first bend losing ground. Both ran on to finish fourth and fifth respectively. AQUA TANK (JR Goode) dehydration. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 7 days up to and including 16 April 2005. FORCEFUL HABIT (MM Grant) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 16 April 2005.
