Manukau Stadium ON TUESDAY 05 Apr 2005

Weather:
Track: Good Firm
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Fine / Warm Race 1. Following post race discussion with L.Craik, co-trainer of Sister Saintly, this greyhound has now been removed from the 'Hard to Box' categorisation effective immediately.
**********
Race 11. Immediately the all-clear had been given for the boxing of runners in this race the handler of Roving Light, J.McInerney Jnr, advised the Starter that he did not want to load this greyhound into the boxes until the film crew positioned on the final bend were repositioned further away from the actual track. Following consultation between the Starter and Stipendiary Steward, J. McInerney Jnr was advised to box Roving Light immediately or it would be declared a late scratching and a breach of Rules 256 / 257.
Following the race J.McInerney Jnr was advised that the circumstances and positioning of the film crew had been discussed by the Stipendiary Steward, Judicial Steward and Club President prior to the race and consequently both the Judicial Steward and Club President had already moved them back further from their original position and remained with them on the bend in order to ensure that the filming continued to be undertaken within an acceptable and safe distance of the actual track and hence no distraction to the runners in the race had occurred. J.McInerney Jnr was also encouraged to use more appropriate timing to express any concerns that he may have of this nature in future.
**********
Race 15. Dark Sensation (W.Steele ) was a late scratching at kennelling under Rule 269.3. Weight variance 1.7kg. resulting in a mandatory fine of $100.
**********
Several trainers' made inquiries with the Club Judicial Chairman (N.McGough) regarding the 'Grade' status of Maxi The Taxi a runner in Race 5 (C1Q). They were advised that the matter was in hand and that it was understood that a protest was already expected depending on the greyhound's placing in the race. No protest was received after the race due to the fact the greyhound's grading classification was clarified as a result of it winning the race.
**********
There were no reported nor detected injuries requiring a stand down from racing at this race meeting.
