Weather:Track: Good Firm
Scales: The digital weighing scales failed a half hour after kennelling commenced due to a fault which could not be repaired on the day and all unkennelled greyhounds at that time were allocated their previous race start weight.
Health and Safety comment:
Judicial report: Weather: Fine / Warm Race 4. Following this event the handler of Waitamo (P.Morris) was requested to present her NZGRA licence for inspection. This could not be complied with at the time and is required to be presented at a forthcoming race meeting.
Race 5. Trainer / handler S.P.Clark (Hypo Spencer) made a request to the Stipendiary Steward via the Parade Steward to walk the greyhound on his left hand side throughout the pre race parade. This was declined as the greyhound had shown no 'unruly tendency' during parades at previous race starts and such action would have obscured the greyhound from Trackside and on-course viewers.
Race 10. Trainer S.P.Clark (Lindale Express) advised that he is now the trainer of this greyhound and not M.McFarlane as shown in the race book.

| Race 2 | DINSDALE DASH - C1 - 375 | Bubba Hotep was slow to begin. Rock It Hound, Charlston Zoom and Legal Edition came together twice between the start and the first turn with Rythmic Finale also being included and checked in the second incident. |
| Race 3 | LEAMINGTON DISTANCE - C1/2d - 630 | Graphics and Time Solves were slow to begin. Rivette Reason and Rich And Blue came together for several strides shortly after the start. Tuki Aqua was handy early then started to drift with approximately 375 mtrs to run and was always at the rear thereafter. |
| Race 4 | MATANGI MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375 | Justa Half Pint was scratched due to injury. Dalikah and Ona Run were slow to begin. Waitamo was tightened and checked between Harmoneyes and Hove Dale on the first turn with Hove Dale and Dalikah also receiving checks in this incident. Justa Half Pint (K.Braithwaite). Torn gracilus muscle. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 19.04.05. Pizza Bad Boy (R.A.McPhee). Wrist injury. Euthanased. | Race 5 | IMPROVERS STAKES - C1 - 457 | Charlston Kid reared as the boxes opened, missed the start by 10 lengths and made up ground well to finish 5th. Charlston State, Destiny's Run and Certainly jostled and bumped each other after 50 mtrs. Destiny's Run galloped on the heels of Ashcroft Bale nearing the first turn with both runners being checked. Broken Title led on the bend, faltered badly and took the path of and severely checked Certainly and Destiny's Run. Broken Title the favourite was ordered to undergo a Veterinary examination which revealed a serious injury requiring a stand down from racing. Broken Title (R.D.Blackburn). Fractured hock. | Race 6 | BRUNTWOOD SPRINT - C2 - 375 | King Of Dreams was slow to begin and then raced very wide throughout. World Priority and Hypo Spencer came together for a stride after the start. I'm Wishing, Charlston Chill and Sue Van Gill raced in tight quarters nearing the first turn with I'm Wishing being checked. I'm Wishing and Charlston Chill came together again on the bend. |
| Race 7 | HILLCREST STAKES - C1/2 - 457 | This race started almost 3 minutes late due to swabbing procedures and a shortage of Officials at the kennelling area prior to this particular race. Bibiana Bale, Miss Teddy Bear, Shady's Mate and Hostile Reign came together and jostled after 50 mtrs. Ashbourne Boss and Bibiana Bale came together on the first turn. |
| Race 8 | TAYLOR STREET SPRINT - C2/3 - 375 | Someone was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was reported to be awkward to box. Bossy Ace and Winsome Dot came together after the start. Someone led early then started to drift on the first turn and never improved thereafter finishing last. |

| Race 10 | TAMAHERE STAKES - C3/4 - 457 | Mr Bell was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed to box without difficulty. Bonnie Creek, Willandra Bale and Cosmic Eclipse came together after the start. Lindale Express, Ballibeast and Willandra Bale came together nearing the first turn. Hostile Arch moved outwards off the rail and across the heels of other runners to take up a wider running position on the first turn and ran on strongly for 3rd. |
