The dog was examined by the vet and found to have some soreness in a wrist but was not required to stand down. |

The favourite OPAWA GAS began awkwardly and was then tightened and shuffled back to last on the first corner and never recovered, finishing in last place. She was examined by the vet as a precautionary measure and cleared of injury. | Race 5 | WANGANUI SECURITY SPRINT - C1/2 - 305 | LIGHT REIGN moved in in the back straight and jostled DEVIOUS JOSH for a couple of strides. HOMEBUSH BLAZE bumped into LIGHT REIGN twice when starting on the bend and almost fell on the second occasion and he lost all chance and finished several lengths last. |

| Race 9 | METEOR PRINTERS SPRINT - C4/5 - 305 | WINSOME TIGER moved in on the first corner and tightened the favourite BLACK ALLEGRO who dropped back to the rear and lost all chance of a place. BLACK ALLEGRO made up some ground for 5th place. WINSOME MOLLY was also slightly hindered in the incident. The winner ZEPHYR ZEAL moved in on the home turn and checked the 2nd dog CRUZMORE who lost ground but recovered to hold its place. NESSIE'S CHARM received a slight cut to the left hind leg which required stitching and a 7 day stand down was ordered.
