Judicial report: Weather: Fine / Warm All races from 8 to 16 were put back the equivalent of one race due to a TAB / telecommunications line fault.
A verbal complaint was received by the Stipendiary Steward from trainer K.Walsh in relation to the time taken to commence the swabbing process of her greyhound Thrilling Cleo which was the winner of Race 5. Following Race 16 the Veterinary Surgeon and Swabbing Steward were questioned regarding the matter and their explanations were accepted and noted.
Discussions between Raceday and Club Officials took place in relation to the malfunction of the starting boxes at the race meeting held on 25.02.03. A revised policy for the relevant officials to meet at a designated point whenever a breakdown of equipment occurs in future has been established. This will assist in minimizing the delay to remaining races.

Mr Horatio and Mr Flipper came together after 30 mtrs. Waitamo moved outwards on the first turn checking Dalikah. Dalikah was forced to cover extra ground in the home straight when Waitamo moved outwards. Justa Half Pint (K.Braithwaite). Toe nail injury. Vet certificate supplied. | Race 2 | RADIO PACIFIC MAIDEN - HEAT 1 - C0q - 527 Heat 1 | Triway reared as the boxes opened and lost ground. Thrilling Mark was slow to begin. Bet She Can and Charlston Deal came together after the start. Thrilling Dash, Iza Dance , Charlston Deal, Bet She Can and Triway raced in tight quarters nearing the first turn with Bet She Can being checked. Iza Dance and Charlston Deal came together on the first turn. |
| Race 3 | COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 | Grasscutter Bob was scratched due to the trainer's intention to retire the greyhound from racing. Farmer John underwent a Veterinary examination prior to kennelling and again prior to the race and no abnormalities were detected. Our Polar and Queen Rowley bumped after 15mtrs. Queen Rowley was denied racing room behind runners on the first turn and drifted slightly. Grasscutter Bob (R.P.O'Regan). Poor performance and intention to retire. No Vet certificate supplied. | Race 4 | STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C0 - 318 | Wairangi Bay was scratched due to injury. Hang On Mate ran inwards at the start which tightened Leslies Pearl and Hove Dale and in a chain reaction Ima Freeman and Miss Ruby were checked. Miss Ruby ran wide on the first turn and remained wide thereafter losing valuable ground. This runner was ordered to undergo a Veterinary examination which detected an injury requiring a stand down from racing. Ima Freeman clipped the heels of Schultz on the first turn and lost 3 lengths. Wairangi Bay (G.Calverley). Severely strained hock. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 30 days up to and including 27.03.05. Miss Ruby (M.Lozell). Sandburns to back feet. | Race 5 | RADIO PACIFIC MAIDEN - HEAT 2 - C0q - 527 Heat 1 | Hopplar was slow to begin. Charlston Ghost and Legal Edition ran inwards at the start causing general tightening and checks to Harmoneyes and Thrilling Cleo. All of these runners continued to jostle and receive on-going checks until the first turn when due to further tightening all runners with the exception of the leader, Thrilling Cleo, were severely checked or hampered again. |
| Race 6 | COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 | King Of Dreams was very slow to begin then went to a wide position and remained there throughout. |
| Race 7 | COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 | Baltasar was very slow to begin and lost 4 lengths otherwise the race was free of incident. |
| Race 8 | CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C1 - 527 | This race started 15 minutes late due to a TAB/ telecommunications line fault with their Wellington Control Centre and all remaining races were put back one race. Under Time was slow to begin. Golden Lobo ran outwards at the start checking Pauly which recovered quickly to win. Under Time galloped on the heels of and checked Golden Lobo on the first turn which drifted thereafter to finish last. |
| Race 9 | COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 4 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 | Flash Tyler and Bus Painter came together after 25 mtrs. Our Freddie moved outwards on the first turn forcing Velvot Revolver and Telescopic Lass to cover extra ground. |
| Race 10 | TINT-A-CAR DASH - C2/3 - 318 | Don Paulie was slightly slow to begin. Junior Time and Supreme Paragon together with Sonny Boy Jones and Rumpole jostled for the first 30 mtrs. Astro Doll clipped the heels of and checked Junior Time on the first turn then bumped on the home turn. |
| Race 11 | TOP NOSH STAKES - C1 - 527 | Bit Of Grit and Bannister Lad were slow to begin and then jostled after 60 mtrs. Bit Of Grit ran very wide on the first turn and remained wide throughout. Nearing the entrance to the back straight Bannister Lad faltered and veered outwards before pulling up injured. Bit Of Grit was checked in this incident when jumping the injured runner and was always at the rear thereafter. Bannister Lad was ordered to undergo a Veterinary examination which revealed a fractured hock and the greyhound was consequently euthanased. Bannister Lad (R.P.O'Regan). Fractured hock during race. | Race 12 | COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 5 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 | Johnny Tulloch and Charlston Flash came together after the start. Charlston Flash , Smart Mover and No Invitation raced in tight quarters on the first turn with Hypo Spencer being checked whilst endeavouring to move inward. Time Over Boots moved inwards nearing the home turn and came together with Charlston Flash. Bubba Hotep was forced very wide in this incident and lost valuable ground. |

| Race 14 | COMMERCIAL PLUMBING LTD STAKES - C2 - 527 | Tiger Time was a late scratching due to injury. Mo Mistress was scratched due to seasonal condition. Time Solves was slow to begin. Goldfinger Jewel ran inwards at the start colliding with Time Solves and Hostile Reign. All three runners were checked as a result. Tiger Time (R.P.O'Regan). Late scratching. | Race 15 | LISA'S BIRTHDAY DASH - C4/5 - 318 | Kiwi Fire missed the start slightly. Gold Amore which was leading on the bend was checked from behind when Flash Shooter made contact with it's hind quarters resulting in Gold Amore being severely checked and losing all chance at a vital stage of the race. Charmaine Bale (G.N.Pomeroy). Scratched ex AGRC 25.02.05. |
| Race 16 | NORTHERN DIGITAL PHOTOFINISH STAKES - C2/3 - 527 | Charmaine Bale was scratched ex AGRC on 25.02.03 Lika Cruise was slow to begin. All runners with the exception of Just The Don raced in very tight quarters for the first 70 mtrs with Wolf Girl Jess and Rollover Angel receiving checks. Trendy Time was denied racing room behind Chestnut Bale on the first bend. |
