THRILLING MAY and DELUSIVE BALE came together and bumped starting on the last bend and they lost momentum for a couple of strides before recovering to run 2nd and 3rd. The favourite THRILLING SERENA was tightened between TIMTAGEL STAR and EUAN SUBRITZKY soon after the start and dropped out to last. She then ran very wide on the bend losing further ground and finished in last place. HOMEBUSH HORSE was checked on the first corner, dropped back to near the rear and never recovered.
