Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainers J&D Fahey were fined $55.00 in accordance with Rule 280.3 due to their failure to present the certificate of registration and race record card for FOLLOW THE TREND at the time of kennelling.
An inquiry under Rule 256 into the scratching of SPOKIN THE WHEEL was opened and adjourned pending further enquiries. Veterinary certificate subsequently supplied by trainer LEE within the 48 hours as allowed under Rule 259.

Race 1 KELVIN HOTEL WELCOME - C1/2 - 390 HOMEBUSH COYOTE was slow to jump settling last before improving along the rail around the bend to run on for second. Into the first bend HOMEBUSH TRUMP, I'M LAUGHING NOW and PALAQUIN MISS were tightened losing ground finishing amongst the tailenders.
Race 2 COLORMARK PAINT & PLASTER - C1 - 457 MRS DOO and BROKEN TITLE jumped clear from the boxes with BROKEN TITLE winning and MRS DOO third. Into the first bend SAMMY HAVOC, EBONY DELUXE and SCHNURRBART came together losing ground. EBONY DELUXE ran on late for fourth with the other two finishing at the rear. ANXIOUS MOMENTS settled at the rear before running on to finish midfield.
Race 3 ASCOT PARK HOTEL - C1/2 - 390 The favourite SYDNEY'S TITLE ran outwards after jumping tightening DR MURDOCH and HOMEBUSH LEGEND on his outer. These two finished at the rear with SYDNEY'S TITLE finishing strongly in the straight for second. MULBERRY FLASH ran wide around the bend losing ground finishing towards the rear. HOMEBUSH STEVE (JT McInerney) left fore toe sprain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 14 February 2005. HOMEBUSH SALLY (LJ Waretini) groin pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 9 February 2005.
Race 4 GLADSTONE CYCLES MAIDEN FINAL - C0f - 457 PUSH PLAY and the favourite HAUNTED HALL were slow to jump settling near the rear. Around the bend the favourite improved wide before being taken wider on the point of the turn by the eventual winner TRINITY TIGER as were a trailing PUSH PLAY and MAXIMUM. These two finished strongly for fourth and fifth respectively. SPOKIN THE WHEEL (AH Lee) sore right ribs. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 9 February 2005.
Race 5 SOUTHLAND LASER THERAPY - C3 - 390 JANE'S COMMANDO and HIGH FEVER came together soon after the jump settling well back. JANE'S COMMANDO ran on for third with HIGH FEVER midfield. Into the bend NOVEMBER BEAR ran out checking LA ROKO and KERCHAK, all three losing ground finishing at the rear. The favourite KIWI NIKO who won the race was checked by the club veterinarian and found to have a dislocated toe of the left hind with a stand down of 14 days recommended. KING LOUIS (AD Williams) groin injury. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 9 February 2005. KIWI NIKO (J Cleary) dislocated toe. Race 6 SOUTHERN FISH SUPPLY - FINAL - C1f - 457 WHATA DARLING, CECILIA PHARAOH and IDOLISE ME came together into the first bend losing ground finishing at the rear with HOMBUSH MOODY who collided with SEASPRAY ROCK soon after.
Race 7 HOMESTEAD COBB & CO - C2 - 457 ROSZEL BALE drifted to the rear after the jump finishing amongst the tailenders. Into the first bend HOMEBUSH OPAL and SMART SPICE came together when vying for the lead, before again coming together turning for home. SMART SPICE finished on for third with HOMEBUSH OPAL well back. Into the first bend WHATA BUY and GIVEN TITLE collided when racing near the rear. WHATA BUY finished last with GIVEN TITLE running on to finish fourth. Following the race an objection was lodged by J McInerney alleging the lure had slowed at the end of the back straight and again entering the home straight thereby affecting the leading dogs. After reviewing the race film there was no evidence of the lure having slowed to affect the leading dogs. Both dogs HOMEBUSH OPAL and SMART SPICE came together due to SMART SPICE forcing her way down to the rail with the resultant interference.
Race 8 PICADILLY CAPERS & CAFE - C2/3 - 457 FOLLOW THE TREND was slow to jump settling at the rear before railing around the bend to finish strongly for second. Into the first bend TEMNICK STAR struck the hindquarters of HARVARD CHIEF both losing ground finishing near the rear. SHIRAZ ROYALE (PB Freeman) muscle soreness right scapula. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 8 February 2005.
Race 9 CALL FOR CHARITY NO. 1 - C3/4 - 390 ALLEGRO EXPRESS was slow to jump settling last and never improving. Into the first bend HOMEBUSH FRANK struck the hindquarters of EFFERVESCENCE both losing ground. EFFERVESCENCE ran on for fourth with HOMEBUSH FRANK towards the rear. Across the top SPECIAL EFFECTS checked out of the heals of HOMEBUSH MICK colliding with the favourite JESSTA LARRIKIN who lost momentum before finishing on for third. MEET THE PARENTS (JT McInerney) right hind split webbing. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 10 February 2005.
Race 10 CLASSIC CALL FOR CHARITY NO 2 - R/A - 457 ROOK THE RAVEN was slow to jump to jump with PICNIC DAY even slower. PICNIC DAY railed around the bend to finish strongly in the straight for third with ROOK THE RAVEN checking wide when coming in contact with CHOPPER'S HAND into the first bend finishing last.
Race 11 INVITATION CALL FOR CHARITY NO. 3 - INV - 457 FAITHFUL WHISKY drifted to the rear after jumping finishing near the rear. Into the first corner STARLIGHT BALE came back on a trailing INSIDE COVER and CHEAP WINE. INSIDE COVER ran on well for third with the other two finishing at the rear. USER FRIENDLY (P&B Conner) torn webbing left hind. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 9 February 2005.
