Judicial report: Weather: Fine / humid. Race 3. Sister Saintly (M.McFarlane) was granted a 'Hard to Box' categorisation for future races following a recent assessment.
Race 6. Supreme Rebel (F.D.Farmer) was ordered to undergo a further Veterinary examination prior to the field leaving the security area for this race due to a pre kennelling incident. This examination revealed no distress or injury.
Race 14. The handler of Thelma Bale and also the trainer (G.N.Pomeroy) were warned under Rule 243 in relation to unauthorised strapping.
Handlers are reminded that under no circumstances are they to stand to the side or front of the starting boxes whilst awaiting the field to be despatched from the start.
There were no race related injuries reported or detected.

Race 1 HAUTAPU HURDLES - C1h - 457 Val's Babe was a late scratching due to seasonal condition. All A Gamble ran outwards after the start, came together with Smokie prior to the first hurdle and drifted throughout the race then misjudged the last hurdle and fell. A Veterinary examination was ordered which detected no injury. Rebel Izmir jumped hesitantly throughout. Val's Babe (B.J.Jordan). Late scratching. Seasonal condition. Rule 258.2. 30 days up to and including 02.03.05. (Registration papers and race record card to be produced to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 2 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Sabre Wind was scratched due to seasonal condition. Sabre Time and Gentle Lee came together after the start. Iron Woman and Supreme Rose came together after 20 mtrs. Gentle Lee went to an early lead then ran to the outside of the track in the home straight, lost ground and then fought on well for 2nd. Charlston Kid was slow to begin then maintained a determined run to win well. Sabre Time ran outwards on the first turn checking Colonel Hogan. Colonel Hogan ran very wide on the home turn. Sabre Wind (B.L.Hood). Seasonal condition. Rule 258.3. 30 days up to and including 01.03.05.
Race 3 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Tent Top was slow to begin then recovered well to finish 4th. Sister Saintly was observed to be 'Hard to Box'. Lois Hond ran inwards and Champagne Gypsy outwards after the start causing tightening and checks to themselves, Leslies Pearl and Sister Saintly.
Race 4 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Justa Half Pint was boxed first due to current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed to be boxed without difficulty. Legal Edition moved inwards towards the rail after the start which checked and pushed Puzzle Time to a rails position. Legal Edition and Supreme Diva bumped on the first turn. Supreme Diva was denied racing room behind runners on the first turn then moved towards the rail on the bend checking Glorias Mate in the process.
Race 5 SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA STAKES - C1 - 457 Opawa Gas was scratched due to injury. Kath moved off the rail slightly on the first turn and came together with Mintie Moment which in a chain reaction moved outwards and severely checked Justa Toff which was racing on its outer. Opawa Gas (D.Garrett). Torn monkey muscle. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 01.03.05.
Race 6 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 4 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Devil In Me was slow to begin. Viking Sabre and Maxine's Beauty jostled twice prior to the first turn. There was widespread tightening on the first turn which inconvenienced several runners. Supreme Rebel galloped on the hind quarters of Viking Sabre on the first turn with both runners being severely checked. Calm Mystique galloped on the heels of Charlston Ghost on the first bend severely checking that runner.
Race 7 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN SPRINT - HEAT 5 - C0q - 375 Heat 1 Charlston Flash, Kimster and Aranui Mist came together after the start. Baltasar the favourite was slow to begin then made up ground strongly to lead on the bend and maintained a determined effort to win well. Baltasar and Our Freddie came together for a stride nearing the home turn. Charlston Flash ran very wide on the home turn and lost ground.
Race 8 THOMAS WOOD PHOTOGRAPHY STAKES - C1/2 - 457 Four Square and Smooth Harry came together after 20mtrs. Easter Man and Lika Cruise came together twice prior to the first turn. Tartare Sauce and Four Square came together for a stride on the home turn.
Race 9 DINSDALE DASH - C1 - 375 First Sample and Peter Hand came together after the start. Bubba Hotep moved inwards towards the rail on the first turn tightening and checking Tandias Girl which lost 2 lengths. First Sample was hampered in this incident.
Race 10 THOMAS WOOD PHOTOGRAPHY DASH - C1/2 - 375 Goldfinger Jewel ran inwards at the start checking This Time Boots and Stooge. Mr Big Head and Rollover Angel came together after the start. The favourite Stooge collided with the hind quarters of Rollover Angel on the first turn and lost 2 lengths. Junior Rhode was very wide throughout losing significant ground. Stooge ran wide on the home turn and was ordered to undergo a Veterinary examination which detected no injury. Hello Darling (M.McFarlane). Ricked off-front toe joint. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 09.02.05.
Race 11 IMPROVERS SPRINT - C1 - 375 Mister Jaybee, Charlston Chill and Togetherness were slow to begin. Homebush Edward, Mister Jaybee and Togetherness jostled on the first turn. Kaimai Gold endeavoured to push through on the rail on the bend and slightly checked Mana Watt in the process.
Race 12 RACEWAY DASH - C3/4 - 375 Calm Flow was scratched due to seasonal condition. Hostile Arch ran inwards and Tarrah outwards after the start hampering Bahama Bale and Keenjackaroo. Hostile Arch was tightened and checked between Willandra Bale and Glenmire on the first turn and lost a length as a result. Calm Flow (P.J.Clark). Seasonal condition. Rule 258.3. 30 days up to and including 01.03.05.
Race 13 HAMILTON DISTANCE - C1d - 630 Lindale Express was tightened between Overload and Rich Fire after the start and lost 2 lengths.
Race 14 WWW.DOGTIPS.NET.NZ STAKES - C4/5 - 457 He's Hypo was a late scratching due to injury. Trendy Rhode was slow to begin Fancy Style moved inwards on the first turn hampering Thelma Bale and Winsome Mate. He's Hypo (W.A.Steele). Late scratching. Front foot laceration and split webbing. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 10.02.05.
