Race 1 TRAINERS MAIDEN CUP FINAL - C0f - 525 The favourite BANKSIDE GO GO was a little slow away then ran wide and only battled for 5th place. MISS REGGAE was checked on the first corner and dropped back forcing CAMCAFF and SOLITARY FLIGHT back and over extra ground and they filled the last three places.
Race 2 AUTO AUCTIONS LTD - C1 - 525 CHAMPAGNE JEWEL and DURAN DURAN collided when jumping from the boxes and settled near the rear. DURAN DURAN collided with the hindquaters of MARIO SCENARIO on the first bend, dropped back to last and stayed well back.
Race 3 DISTANCE FEATURE FINAL - C1df - 758 REDWOOD NEV was scratched due to an injury. The field caught the lure at the end of the back straight and the race was abandoned. The jaws had failed to hold the lure wire resulting in the lure stopping. REDWOOD NEV K.Jackson Rule 259 Suffering from illness and stood down for 30 days to and including 25.02.05.
Race 4 PLACEMAKERS SEAVIEW DISTANCE - C2d - 758 The lure was checked thoroughly and this race started on time. One of the favourites LADY TIANNE settled well back and failed to make much immpression, finishing in 2nd last place.
Race 5 SPICERS PAPER DASH - C2 - 295 ROSZEL BALE was scratched under the distance Rule 254. CLYDEBANK was a late scratching due to a toe injury. FULL TITLE led in the early and middle stages but faded badly in the concluding stages to finish in last place. The vets inspection failed to show any injuries and in the vets opinion the dog just became very tired at the end of the 758 metres. OZZIE RHODE jumped on terms with the other runners but failed to keep up and dropped out to be several lengths behind the field for most of the race. He ran past FULL TITLE to finish in 2nd last place and it was suspected that he had failed to persue in the early stages but he was given the benefit of the doubt when the vets inspection revealed soreness in a front leg and a 7 day stand down was ordered. A close watch should be kept on the dog in future races. CLYDEBANK O.Marron Rule 259 A late scratching due to a toe injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 02.02.05. ROSZEL BALE A.Roberts Rule 254 Under the distance rule. OZZIE RHODE A.Roberts Rule 329 Suffering from a foreleg injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 02.02.05
Race 6 ANUKA ELECTRIC SMOKER - C3/4 - 295 DR MURDOCH was slow to begin and stayed well back throughout. BACK HERE MACKA and WHATA BUY collided on the first corner and ran very wide over extra ground. They also finished well back.
Race 7 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C4/5 - 525 The race was all clear. The lure detached from the jaws after the finish line and the dogs pushed the lure to the end of the back straight before stopping. The caretaker attempted to make the wire more secure in the jaws by easing the wire tension prior to the next race.
Race 8 EL CHEAPO CARS WELLINGTON CUP - C5f - 525 WINSOME BONNIE and the favourite KANE BALE made contact in the run around the first bend and ran wide over extra ground which affected both there chances and they finished at the rear. YALLAH EBONY suffered a webbing injury and was stood down for 10 days. YALLAH EBONY D.Garrett Rule 329 Suffered a webbing injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 05.02.05.
Race 9 PREMIER SPRINT - C5 - 295 LADY LEAH was checked and fell on the first corner and ROMBERG REASON, USER FRIENDLY, ZIPPY STAR and RIVETTE REASON were all hindered in the incident, lost several lengths and all chance. ROMBERG REASON finished the race a long distance behind the others, appeared sore and was examined by the vet and stood down for 30 days with a hock injury. LADY LEAH was also examined and stood down for 7 days with slight shoulder and tricep injuries. ROMBERG REASON B & L Craik Rule 329 Suffered a hock injury and stood down for 30 days to and including 25.02.05. LADY LEAH D.Garrett Rule 329 Suffered shoulder and tricep injuries in a fall and stood down for 7 days to and including 02.02.05
Race 10 PRICE BUSTERS $2 SHOP - C3 - 295 HERE GOES was slow away and then ran wide on the bend and finished in last place. ENLIGHTENING was checked on the first corner and lost ground. STUNNING EBONY suffered two dislocated toes during the race and was stood down for 30 days. STUNNING EBONY B.Cole Rule 329 Suffered toe injuries and stood down for 30 days to and including 25.02.05.
Race 11 B & P ENGINEERING LTD - C2/3 - 525 The favourite FARMER BENSON went up with the lids and settled well back. She recovered well to run 2nd. FLAMING PRINCE ran very wide around the bend and covered extra ground.
Race 12 ANGLO UPHOLSTERERS - C2 - 525 DUSTY NERO was severely checked on the first corner and dropped out to last. FOLLOW THE TREND and TRUANT collided and both lost ground entering the back straight.
Race 13 ANGLO UPHOLSTERERS - C2 - 525 TEDDY HALL was scratched due to injury. CLAIRE EYES was scratched due to suffering from diarrhoea. HILLTOP CUTIE was the slowest away and then collided with BRONNIE BOLTA on the first corner and pushed that runner wide on the bend. HILLTOP CUTIE recovered to run on for 2nd place. Trainer W.T.Hodgson was 30 minutes late to kennel THRILLING DUKE for this race and was fined $ 30-00 under Rule 135 (1). TEDDY HALL A.Hall Rule 259 Has an infected toe and stood down for 5 days to and including 30.01.05. CLAIRE EYES W.Morris Rule 259 Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 10 days to and including 05.02.05.
