Judicial report: Weather: Fine Race 3. D. Schofield the trainer of Charlston State requested observation of the boxing manners of this greyhound with a view to being granted a 'Hard to Box' categorisation.
The observation was undertaken by the Starter, Judicial Steward and Stipendiary Steward and no abnormality was seen. The observation will be repeated at this greyhound's next race start.
Trainers and Handlers are reminded that under Rules 262 and 264.2 they are required to report to the kennels for pre race procedures at the specified time. There will be no exceptions.

Race 1	TE RAPA TAVERN DASH - C1 - 375	She's Home Soon was scratched ex Manawatu GRC on 18.01.05. Bus Painter reared when the boxes opened and lost 3 lengths then made up ground strongly to finish 3rd. Delta Belle ran outwards at the start checking Paddle Foot. First Sample moved outwards on the first turn checking Paddle Foot and Golden Lobo She's Home Soon (P.A.Boon). Scratched ex Manawatu GRC on 18.01.05.
Race 2	HILLCREST TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 457	Campese Bale was scratched due to injury. This race started 1 minute late at the request of TAB Trackside. Number One Gun was slow to begin. Rich Fire ran inwards at the start checking Dolly Poacher and hampering Number One Gun. India ran outwards at the start checking Pauly and Smart Mover with the latter then drifting throughout the race to finish 7th. Number One Gun moved to a wide running position on the first turn and remained very wide throughout. The favourite Pauly was observed to be carried from the track at the conclusion of the race and was ordered to undergo a veterinary examination which detected minor pain in the off-front wrist but not requiring a stand down from racing. Campese Bale (G.N.Pomeroy). Shoulder muscle soreness. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 6 days up to and including 25.01.05.
Race 3	CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN FINAL - C0f - 457	My Charlston tried to run outwards after the start hampering Gungullin and colliding with Thrilling Mark. Charlston State ran inwards and collided with Entice after the start with both runners being severely checked as a result. Charlston State ran inwards on the first turn and clipped the heels of My Charlston with both runners being checked. Thrilling Mark was hampered in this incident. Charlston State ran outwards on the home turn checking Togetherness and My Charlston as well as forcing these runners to cover extra ground. Pizza Bad Boy (R.A.McPhee). Scratched under Rule 254 (100kms).
Race 4	DINSDALE TAVERN DASH - C2 - 375	Miss Tracey Lee was scratched due to injury. Stooge and Hypo Ponting came together after the start which caused Corston Flyer to be tightened. Easter Man drifted early and was never in contention after. Corston Flyer galloped on the heels of Sonny Boy Jones in the home straight. Miss Tracey Lee (P.W.Cleaver). Leg injury. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 18.02.05.( Race Record card to be produced to Stipendiary Steward for endorsement).
Race 5	IMPROVERS SPRINT FINAL - C1f - 375	Velvot Revolver and King Of Dreams were slow to begin. Hypo Spencer slipped after the start and lost a length. Grasscutter Bob jumped awkwardly. Hypo Spencer cut across the heels of Hello Darling on the first turn in an endeavour to move to a wider running position and as a result came back onto Velvot Revolver which was severely checked.
Race 6	CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR STAKES - C1 - 457	Shezmy Scallywag was scratched due to injury. Economy Patch was a late scratching due to a seasonal condition. Tippy Soprano moved inwards on the first turn causing itself and Ashbourne Boss to be checked. Ashbourne Boss then ran outwards shortly after to take up a wider running position and checked Tippy Soprano with Ashbourne Boss making up ground well to finish 2nd. Economy Patch ( B&L Craik). Late scratching. Seasonal condition. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 258. 30 days up to and including 19.02.05. Shezmy Scallywag (C.A.Symes). Near-side hind forelimb torn lateral triceps. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 02.02.05.
Race 7	PAPAMOA TAVERN DASH - C4/5 - 375	Someone was boxed first due to a current 'Hard to Box' categorisation and was observed to box without difficulty. Kiwi Fire, Winsome Mate and More Gold came together after 20mtrs. Someone ran inwards into the first turn colliding with and checking More Gold, Winsome Mate and Kiwi Fire. Media Frenzy was lost for speed at the start then made up ground strongly for 2nd.
Race 8	SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA SPRINT - C2/3 - 375	Thrilling Jack, Hostile Reign and Tarrah raced in tight quarters for the first 30mtrs. Just Curly and Sue Van Gill came together after the start. Parra Power the favourite led early, was tightened between Winsome Dot and Tarrah on the first bend then drifted back quickly checking Just Curly which lost all chance.
Race 9	ALPHA HOTEL KIHIKIHI STAKES - C2/3 - 457	Awesome Enforcer was slow to begin. Hostile Arch ran inwards at the start denying Bibiana Bale racing room. Bibiana Bale was tightened and severely checked between Awesome Enforcer and Big Teddy Boy on the first turn with Bibiana Bale never recovering and finishing last.
Race 10	GOOD NIGHT STAKES - C2 - 457	Four Square and Just The Don were slow to begin. Chestnut Bale clipped the heels of Tartare Sauce nearing the first turn and was checked as a result. Smooth Harry moved outwards on the first turn checking Flying Pebbles and hampering Four Square. Hostile Girlie moved outwards on the bend checking Just The Don and forcing it to cover extra ground.
