Race 1 | WELCOME TO MANAWATU - C1 - 297 | The eventual winner TINTAGEL STAR ran out from the start and crowded GLORIA'S CHARM, HELLO SAILOR and CECILIA BRYAN who all lost ground. |
Race 2 | QUALITY AUTO'S MANAWATU LTD - C1 - 297 | WINSOME LEEDS and BEST TELL ROSE collided on the first turn, dropped out to the rear and stayed there. |
Race 3 | HELL'S PIZZA, PALMERSTON NORTH - C3/4 - 505 | The box lids were slow to open when the starter had to revert to a manual start. The payment of dividends was held up while the Stipendiary Steward satisfied himself that no dogs were disadvantaged and that the race was fairly run. PELICAN CREEK ran out on the first corner and checked MOANA NUI, TOKEN WARRIOR, LIKA CRUISE and SON OF SARABI with the last mentioned runner finishing several lengths last. He was examined by the vet and cleared of injury. |
Race 4 | THE DOGS MANAWATU - C1 - 505 | LUCABELLA was a club scratching due to some confusion in the notification to withdraw prior to the draw being made. OH SO LYRICAL and INADMISSIBLE collided on the first corner and OH SO LYRICAL dropped out to finish a long last, was vetted and stood down for 10 days with bicep muscle injuries. Race 5 | MANAWATU HURDLES CHALLENGE CUP - C2h - 505 | The second fence fell over in the wind just prior to the start and was struck and knocked completely down by the lure. The fence was removed by the time the field had returned to the home straight and after the Stipendiary Steward had decided that no runners were disadvantaged and no dog gained an advantage, the payment of dividends was authorized.The Club have undertaken to redesign the fences to ensure that they are able to withstand any wind pressure in the future. RALPH fell in the back straight but was uninjured. |

Race 7 | AWAPUNI HOTEL - C1 - 505 | Starting on the back straight, DES'REE moved out and checked BRAVE GYPSY and HOMEBUSH JET who was forced very wide, lost several lengths and tailed the field from there. |
Race 8 | AUSSIE W/SALE MEATS - C2 - 505 | LIGHT REIGN and SEXY BABE were both checked on the first bend and dropped back to the rear and lost any chance of a placing. CLAIRE EYES collapsed at the finish and was examined but recovered quickly and was cleared by the vet. |
Race 9 | ALBION TAVERN SHANNON - C2 - 297 | BEST TELL PIE was jostled for several strides in the race around the bend and was pushed over extra ground and finished well back. |
Race 10 | CATCH ME IF YOU CAN - C3/4 - 297 | HOT DISCOVERY became unbalanced on the bend and dropped back several places and finished well back. |
