Trainer M.Boyd was fined $ 50-00 under Rule 135 (1) after allowing two Greyhounds to escape and run loose.

Race 1 WELCOME TO SOLWAY SHOWGROUNDS DASH - C0 - 290 TURBO MCCOOKIE was scratched Ex Wellington on 12.12.04. BUDLEIGH BABE was very slow to begin and tailed the field home by several lengths. It was suggested but could not be confirmed that the dog had turned in the boxes as the video camera malfunctioned. Race 2 THANKS TO OLDFIELDS MAIDEN STAKES - C0 - 545 JUSTA SILVERSTAR was scratched due to an injury. INAHA KOTIRO was checked entering the back straight and went back to last. INAHA KOTIRO suffered a toe injury during the race, was examined by the vet and stood down for 30 days with toe and webbing injuries. JUSTA SILVERSTAR Trainer D&B Kettlewell Rule 259 Has a spike wound and stood down for 30 days to and including 12.01.05 INAHA KOTIRO Trainer A.Cobain Rule 329 Suffered from toe and webbing injuries and stood down for 30 days to and including 13.01.05.
Race 3 CHRISTMAS RUSH MAIDEN STAKES - C0 - 290 LESLIES PEARL, NINIA'S LASS, BANJO COUNTRY and MILLUNA GIRL were checked on the first corner and lost ground. CAMCAFF Trainer G.Caffell Rule 329 Suffered from bruising to the hip area and stood down for 10 days to and including 24.12.04.
Race 4 SUPERIOR GREYHOUND PRODUCTS - C1 - 290 UNO A WHISPER scrambled out of the boxes and lost several lengths and all chance of a placing. One of the favourites LIGHT REIGN was checked twice and had difficulty negotiating the bend and finished last.
Race 5 GRADUATION SPRINT - C1 - 290 ME AND MARTY, MISS NEMINBO, KAITOKE SUE and ANTONIO were all checked on the first corner and they filled the last four places at the finish. LAST TRAM suffered a webbing injury and was stood down for 10 days. LAST TRAM Trainer L.Fornasiere Rule 329 Suffered from a webbing injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 24.12.04.
Race 6 PREVIEW HURDLES - C1/2h - 545 All clear.
Race 7 WAIRARAPA TIMES AGE DASH - C1 - 290 ARANUI SUNRISE was scratched due to an injury. BALMAR BLUE was checked twice in the race and finished a long last. The dog appeared to be sore and a vets examination revealed a spike wound in a front foot and a 10 day spell was ordered. ARANUI SUNRISE Trainer M.Boyd Rule 259 Suffering from a bite wound and stood down for 10 days to and including 22.12.04. BALMAR BLUE Trainer M.McCook Rule 329 Suffered a spike wound in a front foot and stood down for 10 days to and including 24.12.04.
Race 8 RANCHMAN'S PETFOOD - C2/3 - 545 DUSTY NERO was scratched Ex Wellington on 12.12.04. MISS BLUE VELVET began well but was checked on the first corner, went back through the field and pushed TERRIFIC TEDDY and CLYDEBANK wide on the first bend. CLYDEBANK recovered well to win. Race 9 SOUTH WAIRARAPA VETERINARY ASSOC SPRINT - C2 - 290 PHAEDRA was scratched due to suffering from diarrhoea. JUNIOR RHODE was a late scratching when found to be overweight and the Trainer was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 269 (3). General tightening on the first corner resulted in severe checks to PEEL RIDGE SUE, EUAN SUBRITZKY and BUSTER KEATON and they never recovered and filled the last three places. SHEEHAN suffered a toe injury and was stood down for 30 days. PHAEDRA Trainer B&E.Gough Rule 259 Suffering from diarrohea and stood down for 10 days to and including 20.12.04. SHEEHAN TrainerE.Norris Rule 329 Suffered from a serious toe injury and stood down for 30 days to and including 14.01.05.
Race 10 BACK HERE ON SUNDAY STAKES - C1 - 545 SPRING REBEL galloped on the heels of RAGTIME REASON on the first turn, ran out and collided with DURAN DURAN and they both almost fell and lost all chance. SPRING REBEL suffered a serious toe injury and was stood down for 30 days. RAGTIME REASON suffered from stifle bruising and was stood down for 10 days. SPRING REBEL Trainer B.McMillan Rule 329 Suffered from a serious toe injury and stood down for 30 days to and including 13.01.05.
