MOANA NUI was pushed wide and together with another well supported runner FLAMING PRINCE, they struggled near the rear throughout the remainder of the race.. |

| Race 3 | 'ANUKA ELECTRIC SMOKER' - C1 - 295 | One of the favourites PITSTOCK JAZZ made contact with the hindquaters of HOMEBUSH SMITHY in the race to the first corner, moved out and pushed HOMEBUSH LUCKY wide. They raced wide around the bend, covered extra ground and filled the last two places at the finish. |
| Race 4 | 'BUY DAD A SMOKER FOR XMAS' - C1 - 295 | Crowding at the start resulted in jostling to MISS DUSTY, HOMEBUSH SAM and OUR MICK for several strides. CAN CANDY CAPP moved out in the race to the first corner and ANGEL EYES moved in. This resulted in tighening and checks to CANDIAC BALE, GREEN MILE, MISS DUSTY and HOMEBUSH SAM and they lost some ground as a result. DABYNE PRINCE Trainer A.C.Roberts Rule 259 Suffered from a bite wound and stood down for 10 days to and including 10.12.04. |
| Race 5 | 'ANUKA SMOKERS' - C1/2 - 295 | Interferance on the first corner resulted in WEE SWEETIE, SHEEHAN and SYDNEYS LEGEND being badly checked and going down behind. They were classed as falling, examined by the vet and cleared of any injuries. PIXAR STARR was badly checked in the incident and lost all chance. |
| Race 6 | NAME THIS RACE FOR $100 - C5 - 525 | DABYNE PRINCE was scratched due to a bite wound which was infected. The race was all clear. |
| Race 7 | WELLINGTON CHAMPION SPRINT - C5f - 295 | BLACK ALLEGRO moved in on the home turn and tightened TEDDY TYLER and HAWK DREAMER who lost momentum, dropped back and eventually filled the last two places at the finish. |
| Race 8 | 'RING 04-568-6776 TO SPONSOR' - C2 - 525 | PUZZLING KNIGHT was slow to begin and settled in last place. OVERLOAD moved in from the start and caused checks to GOZO LINA, WEONA PIRATE and SCANDINAVIAN and they settled well back. The well supported WEONA PIRATE was on a forward move starting on the last bend but was held up by runners ahead, lost momentum and this probably cost the dog a chance of a placing. |
| Race 9 | EL CHEAPO CARS/PRICEBUSTERS - C1 - 525 | LONHRO ASTON had to ease slightly on the first corner to avoid the heels of HOMEBUSH OPAL and dropped back onto the line of LATASHA who dropped out to last. LATASHA then made up a huge amount of ground to finish in 2nd place. LONHRO ASTON dropped right away after the check and finished a long last. The dog was checked by the vet and found to be suffering from muscle soreness in the back and hip and a 10 day stand down was ordered. The soreness was not evident in the pre-race examination and LONHRO ASTON is now required to trial under Rule 179 (1) before next being nominated to race. | Race 10 | HUTT PARK TOP 10 HOLIDAY PARK - C3/4 - 295 | WAIWERATAI, MADAM CHOLET and the hot favourite WINSOME TIGER collided soon after the start with MADAM CHOLET almost falling. They settled at the rear and WINSOME TIGER then had to check off the heels of FIELDS O'ATHENRY on the first corner and that was the end of his chance of a placing. |
