Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer D. Schofield and handler L Johnston, were given warnings in regard to not providing catchers for their greyhound's in Races 4 & 8 respectively.
L Craik joint trainer of the greyhound Nikkei was again reminded that this greyhound's race record card was required for endorsement under Rule 322.2(a) imposed as a result of a AGRC Judicial Committee Hearing decision which concluded on 09.11.04.
The Judicial Committee hearing into the charge under Rule 135.1 against Trainer R.A.McPhee in connection to the Late Scratching of the greyhound Mr Big Head from the Waikato GRC's race meeting held on 04.11.04 was reconvened. Following evidence and submissions from R.A.McPhee and G. Bennett, Stipendiary Steward, the Judicial Committee upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $60.00 (sixty dollars) on R.A.McPhee.
Race 9. Following this race a verbal complaint was lodged with the Stipendiary Steward and Judicial Steward by S.P.Clark, the trainer of Jaiden Luke which had finished second in the race. The complaint lodged was, that the greyhound Winsome Success ( Walsh / Charters ) had received muscle / skeletal manipulation in the Parade Ring, prior to the race, by an associate of K.Walsh, the handler of the greyhound.
The Head Kennel Steward had also advised the Stipendiary Steward of the incident and stated that both K.Walsh and her associate had been advised that their action was unacceptable.
As a result of this information an Inquiry was opened and adjourned under Rules 123.8 and 135.1 pending further investigation. K Walsh was consequently advised by the Stipendiary Steward that an Inquiry had been opened.
Trainers are reminded that when a greyhound is scratched, stood down, suspended or disqualified that it is their responsibility to ensure that the greyhound's race record card is made available to the Stipendiary Steward on the day for endorsement or at the earliest possible opportunity afterwards if extenuating circumstances have prevented it. Rules 325 and 326 clearly require this.
