Judicial report: Weather: Overcast The Waikato GRC has appointed a new Lure Driver, Erena Koroheke, who has had previous experience at Cambridge Raceway in this capacity at Non Totalisator and trial meetings. Erena's duties at this meeting were overseen by Peter Henley, the Club President and monitored by the Stipendiary Steward and Judicial Steward.
The Waikato GRC is to introduce a new register for 'Box First' category greyhounds which will require them to be notified to the Head Kennel Steward by the handler or detected from the Registration Certificate endorsements at the time of kennelling. The completed list of eligible greyhounds for 'Box First' status will then be distributed to the Stipendiary Steward and Starter for monitoring purposes. There will be no additions or deletions to the list once kennelling has closed and only those greyhounds which appear on the list and have the endorsement on their Registration Certificate will be permitted to 'Box First'. Trainers are reminded that a new 'Box First' category will not be granted or removed without application to the Stipendiary Steward who then may require that the greyhound in question undergo an assessment by the appropriate raceday officials prior to the request being granted.
Race 7. N.P.Green ( Token Sniper) was observed to be late joining the pre race parade for this event. The Head Kennel Steward, Parade Steward and Mr Green were questioned regarding the matter and as a result the explanation from Mr Green was accepted and noted.
Race 3. Mr Big Head (R.A.McPhee) was a late scratching due to a breach of Rules 325 and 255. This greyhound had been a late scratching under Rule 259 at the AGRC meeting on 26.10.04. due to persistent pain with ventral pressure on the abdominal muscles. The stand down given was 10 days. The trainer had failed to realise that under Rule 325 the stand down period does not expire until 11.30pm on the final day being 04.11.04. As a consequence no scratching was notified to the Waikato GRC Secretary as required under Rule 255.
R.A.McPhee the trainer was not present at tonight's race meeting however the situation was explained to both the kennel's representative on-course and directly to the trainer via a telephone conversation with the Stipendiary Steward.
A charge under Rule 135.1 was opened and adjourned before Judicial Steward Mr A.Booth
at tonight's meeting with a date and time for the hearing to be set.

Race 1	SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA STAKES - C1/2 - 457	Jack Rhode drifted slightly nearing the bend inconveniencing Bozo Fulton which in turn hampered Den Of Fire and Light Pockets. The race winner Orphan Assassin set a new Grade Record of 25.51sec for the 457mtrs.
Race 2	MATANGI MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375	Forever Running, Charlston Time and Racelink came together and jostled after the start. Charlston Time cut across the heels of Beda's Boy on the first bend then was very wide thereafter losing considerable ground. Running Tiger cut across the heels of Pitter Patter on the first turn to obtain a wider position and checking Forever Running and forcing Beda's Boy wide as a result. Queen Rowley (H.R.Bond) was scratched ex AGRC on 02.11.04 under Rule 258.2.
Race 3	1ST IMPROVERS SPRINT - C1 - 375	King Of Dreams, Economy Style and Glenmire jostled for position at the start with Economy Style being eventually tightened and checked to the rear. King Of Dreams while attempting to move to a wider position on the first turn, came together with Faithful Bart twice checking that runner which failed to recover, finishing last. King Of Dreams was then very wide throughout. Mr Big Head (R.A.McPhee) was a late scratching due to Rule 325 being applicable.This greyhound had been stood down for 10 days under Rule 259 at the AGRC on 26.10.04.
Race 4	MELVILLE STAKES - C0 - 457	Time Solves and Legal Edition bumped after the start. Kimster led early, ran outwards on the first turn severely checking Shezmy Scallywag which in turn severely checked Destiny's Run which almost fell. Kimster ran out again sharply nearing the home turn, cutting off Destiny's Run and forcing Legal Edition and He's A Blur wide. Destiny's Run and Kimster ran very wide on the home turn. Thrilling Merc (G.E.Harding) was scratched ex AGRC on 02.11.04 under Rule 329.
Race 5	DINSDALE DASH - C2 - 375	Basil Faulty was slow out and always at the rear after. No Invitation ran outwards on the first turn hampering Basil Faulty. Hostile Arch ran wide on the home turn then ran on strongly for 4th.
Race 6	2ND IMPROVERS SPRINT - C1 - 375	Velvet Revolver was slow out then ran on strongly along the rail for 3rd. Golden Lobo, Faithful Mittens and Goldfinger Jewel were initially involved in jostling on the first turn which developed into all three being checked. Telescopic Lass ran wide on the home turn and fought on well for 4th.
Race 7	HILLCREST STAKES - C2 - 457	Awesome Enforcer and Four Square missed the start by 3 lengths. Someone began well to lead, then veered outwards after 25mtrs checking Hostile Girlie and forcing Bronnie Bolta and Token Sniper to cover extra ground. Token Sniper drifted shortly after this incident finishing a distant last.
Race 8	SUPERIOR GREYHOUND FORMULA DASH - C4/5 - 375	Jaiden Luke was slow out, improved wide and held ground in straight for 5th. Parra Power began well, near lead early then cramped for room between runners, drifted quickly on the bend and showed little determination thereafter.
Race 9	WWW.DOGSTIPS.NET.NZ STAKES - C3/4 - 457	Wolf Girl Jess stumbled and missed the start by 4 lengths and never recovered, finishing last. I'm Wishing was cramped slightly for racing room on the bend , drifted and never improved thereafter finishing 6th.
