Judicial report: Weather: Overcast Race 8. A request was received from trainer C.J.Derecourt (Kiwi Fire) for this greyhound to be granted 'Box First' status. The trainer was advised that an assessment of the greyhounds current boxing manners would be carried out at tonight's race meeting.
At the conclusion of the race and following consultation with the Starter ( D.Henwood) the request was declined at this time but subject to further monitoring.
Race 5. The last race start weight recorded in the race book for This Time Boots (D.Schofield) was incorrect and differed from the greyhound's race record card. ( Race book 30.7kg and Race Record Card 28.7kg ). The registered weight for tonight's meeting was 28.7kg. The error is to be advised to the NZGRA.
Mr Darryl Henwood has been appointed to the position as Race Starter with the AGRC effective immediately. Mr Henwood is also the starter at the Waikato & Districts GRC.

Race 1 RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C0 - 527 Trendy Time was slow to begin then was hampered on the first turn, stuck to rail and fought on strongly for 2nd. Tiki Tour missed the start by 4 lengths, made some ground but was always in rear group. Comical Ali was slow to begin then raced to lead on the first turn and was always in control thereafter to win easily. Sun Gai and Tandias Girl jostled entering the first turn then shortly after Sun Gai was tightened between Tandias Girl and Trendy Time with all three being inconvenienced. Trendy Time came off the rail on the first bend checking Sun Gai which in turn severely checked Tandias Girl as well as forcing that runner very wide.
Race 2 'MCDEEBEE' STAKES - C4/5 - 527 Idol Appeal the favourite and Paula Missile jostled after the jump. Entering the first turn Paula Missile bumped Idol Appeal inwards which together with Thrilling Heidi was severely checked with the latter being forced very wide as a result and losing all chance to finish a distant last. Winsome Guy and Idol Appeal came together momentarily on the first bend.
Race 3 'B & L CRAIK' SPRINT - C1 - 318 Dr Dal Santo galloped on the heels of Educating Archie on the bend which caused a severe check to the latter which lost all chance and finished last. Educating Archie was ordered to undergo a veterinary examination with no injury being detected. India ran out slightly at the start pushing Educating Archie, Tiger Time and Economy Style outwards. India was handy early then drifted on the bend to finish 7th.
Race 4 'PURE MISTRESS' STAKES - C1 - 527 Full Force Gale, Linnymay, Harvard World and Achieve A Dream came together after the jump and with the exception of Achieve A Dream again nearing the first turn. Linnymay ran out sharply on the first bend severely checking and forcing Achieve A Dream very wide which consequently lost all chance and finished last.
Race 5 'IDOL APPEAL' STAKES - C1 - 527 Solo Cruise was denied racing room in behind Oxey and Baron Doval on the first turn. Bozo Fulton moved outwards on the first bend inconveniencing Solo Cruise.
Race 6 'SHAR NAZIR' SPRINT - C2 - 318 Foreign Diplomat galloped on the heels of May Well Be on the first turn with both receiving severe checks and causing a chain reaction of interference to Lady Dolly, Farmer John, Storm Edition and Peter Hand. Peter Hand drifted slightly on the bend and then bumped May Well Be on the home turn. Foreign Diplomat ran very wide on the home turn losing considerable ground. Peter Hand (D.Schofield). Split web on rear toe. Rule 329. 7 days up to and including 20.10.04.
Race 7 'GONE TROPPO' STAKES - C2 - 527 Rivette Reason and Super Tod collided after the jump with Super Tod dropping to the rear and was always in the rear group thereafter. Chesnut Bale began well then drifted out in the back straight to finish last.
Race 8 'G E HARDING' SPRINT - C2/3 - 318 Miss Tracey Lee ran outwards at the start tightening Black Tyler, Dudley Dersley and Kiwi Fire. Kiwi Fire was jostled between Dudley Dersley and Charmed Mahogany nearing the first turn, none of which improved and finishing towards the rear. Black Tyler ran out on the first turn to a wider position and failed to run on finishing 7th.
Race 9 'THRILLING HEIDI' STAKES - C2/3 - 527 Skipper Rip the favourite missed the start by 2 lengths, last early then commenced a determined rails run to be 4th down the back straight and came around the leaders on the final turn to win easily. Poco King ran out on the first turn checking Just The Don then carting Melissa Bale. Osbourne was handy early then drifted on the final bend and wilted to finish last.
Race 10 'BOLD HONCHO' SPRINT - C3/4 - 318 Just Curly, Waitak Attack and Musical Drama jostled entering the first turn with Waitak Attack being severely checked as a result. Let Me, Willandra Bale and Just Curly came together twice on the first bend. Winsome Mate was very wide throughout then was checked off the heels of Bahama Bale on the bend and held ground for 5th.
