Judicial report: Weather: Overcast A charge was preferred against CHALLENGER BALE and trainer AC Roberts under Rule 322 (1)(b). Roberts elected to plead not guilty and after hearing evidence the charge was found proven with CHALLENGER BALE stood down for one month up to and including 6 November 2004 and to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179.

Race 1	PEDIGREE ADVANCE STAKES - C3 - 520	CHALLENGER BALE was slow to jump showing no interest in racing for a number of strides before chasing the field some considerable distance behind. He finished a long last. A charge under Rule 322(1)(b) was preferred against CHALLENGER BALE and trainer AC Roberts. As CHALLENGER BALE had undertaken 12 clear runs since last offending he was stood down for one month and ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179. HOMEBUSH BILL (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kennelling when found to have a missing right hind toenail. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 16 October 2004. CHALLENGER BALE (AC Roberts) Rule 322(1)(b) stood down for one month up to and including 6 November 2004 and to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179.
Race 2	DAVE EMERSON CONSULTANCY SPRINT - C2 - 295	HOMEBUSH OPAL drifted to the rear soon after the jump. Into the first bend SWEET RAIDER and ANGRY'S WISH were checked as a result of general tightening, coming back on MELTING POT. Soon after this skirmish SWEET RAIDER and BANKSIDE NIGHT came together with BANKSIDE NIGHT falling and checking EL ASSASSIN on her outer. These dogs lost all chance finishing well behind the placegetters. HOMEBUSH OPAL railed inside all incidents running on for third. BANKSIDE NIGHT finished the event a long distance behind the field, and when checked by the club veterinarian was found to have a right hind torn webb with a 10 day stand down recommended. Race 3	CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C4 - 520	WAR TOKEN was tightened by dogs on his outer into the first bend drifting out to last never improving in the running. The favourite ZIPPY STAR trailed the leaders till the end of the back straight before railing and running away to win easily.
Race 4	APACHE LODGE JUVENILE - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	Into the first bend TOKEN KIWI checked outwards when tightened by the favourite CHOPPERS HAND colliding with AWESOME ENFORCER, both dogs losing ground. TOKEN KIWI ran on in the straight for third with AWESOME ENFORCER and BARDO'S ANGEL who drifted soon after the jump finishing at the rear.
Race 5	BARRON'S SUPPLIES SPRINT - C4 - 295	PACIFIC JAZZY drifted to last into the first bend never improving during the event. NOVEMBER BEAR sustained a slight check into the first bend but recovered well to run on for second. LA ROKO who was near the rear into the straight finished strongly for third. CONSENT (JT McInerney) left wrist sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 7 days up to and including 13 October 2004.
Race 6	APACHE LODGE JUVENILE - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	PICNIC DAY was very slow to jump settling a long last. Into the first bend WILLY WHAT was tightened between SHADY'S MATE and CLAN IVORY before striking the hindquarters of SHADY'S MATE and falling. WILLY WHAT regained his feet finishing some distance behind the field, and when checked by the club veterinarian was found to have no injury.
Race 7	NUTRI-ZING STAKES - C5 - 520	RASMAH REASON was slow to jump from the outside box. Into the first bend CATCH ME SOON was squeezed between dogs losing ground. He finished strongly in the straight for second. Soon after this incident, SUNSET JEST ran outwards taking SUPERSTITIOUS and RASMAH REASON with him, these three losing all chance, filling the last three places. SUNSET JEST and SUPERSTITIOUS were checked by the club veterinarian who detected no injury.
Race 8	ROBBIES BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C5 - 295	SPOTTED HAND dwelt at the start settling well back before being tightened along with HOMEBUSH GEORGE into the first bend, losing all chance, finishing at the rear. ROTKARA BOMBER (MM Grant) mild kennel cough. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 11 October 2004.
Race 9	APACHE LODGE JUVENILE - HEAT 3 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	MRS DOO and STYLISH LOVER eased when squeezed into the first bend finishing near the rear.
Race 10	APACHE LODGE JUVENILE - HEAT 4 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1	McKENZIE LEIGH faultered into the first bend drifting out to finish a long last. He was checked by the club veterinarian and found to have a left shoulder triceps tear, with a stand down of 21 days recommended. McKENZIE LEIGH (MM Grant) left shoulder triceps tear. Rule 329. 21 days up to and including 27 October 2004.
Race 11	TRACKSIDE DINING PH 338-6145 STAKES - C2 - 520	At the end of the back straight, THRILLING PAUL and SATIN ANGEL came together both dogs losing all chance finishing at the rear.
Race 12	CONTAINERS DIRECT INTERTRADE SPRINT - C3 - 295	YENDY'S TITLE drifted to last soon after the jump never improving during the running. Into the first bend COBBITY GIRL, LAKOTA GOLD, MARRICK MAID and HOMEBUSH BRIAN came together losing all chance finishing well back.
