Scales: The scales again failed 12 minutes prior to the closing of kennelling. Those odogs still to kennel were recorded as 'no weight'. It has since been reported that a number of dogs showed substantial weight increases when weighed while the scales were operating. Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Wet and cold Trainers AC Roberts and J&D Fahey were charged with a breach of Rule 377.2, in respect of dogs SLUG WHITE BALE and PATTY HOLKA, entrants in Race 2, the Veterans Sprint. Both were fined $25.00, given that both dogs had resumed training for this event.

Race 1	BRIAN BAGLEY DRIVER LICENSING SPRINT - C0 - 310	AWESOME KEV was slow to jump settling at the rear before improving wide around the field to run away and win impressively. COMPACT CONNIE, TRINITY SAINT and JOHN'S BLUEY were tightened into the first bend, losing all chance, filling the last three places. WHATA YA THINK (BA Johnston) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 28 September 2004. Kennel cough. Rule 259. 7 days up to 4 October 2004.
Race 2	VETERANS SPRINT - R/A - 310	FENTON and RODINA REASON drifted to the rear soon after the jump, finishing midfield. SLUG WHITE BALE drifted to a clear last by the first bend, never improving. NASSIRAY BALE (AC Roberts) right gracilus tear. Rule 257. 30 days up to and including 29 October 2004.
Race 3	FORBURY PARK SPRINT - C2 - 310	EL ASSASSIN, LAZY HARRY and PALAQUIN MISS dwelt at the start setling well back. LAZY HARRY improved in the first bend striking the hindquarters of HOMEBUSH LUMP losing momentum. EL ASSASSIN ran on for fourth with the other two near the rear. SMART SPICE (MJ Lelliott) bruising left hind foot. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 13 October 2004 HOMEBUSH BOY (JT McInerney). left triceps tear. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 21 days up to and including 20 October 2004.
Race 4	PAWS INN BOARDING KENNELS '310' - C1 - 310	FLASH WARRIOR was slow to jump. Soon after the jump MULBERRY CHELLE , HOMEBUSH OPAL and FEARLESS MAGOO were tightened settling well back. Into the first bend an improving FLASH WARRIOR and JEMALONG EASTERN collided losing ground. Soon after this incident HOMEBUSH DIESEL checked out off the hindquarters of GOLDFINGER JEWEL running wide and taking HOMEBUSH OPAL with him. These dogs never recovered finishing near the rear. MULBERRY ROGUE (KJ Cassidy) left groin strain. Veterinary cetificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 8 October 2004.
Race 5	KIWI MORTGAGE MARKET '545' - C1 - 545	HOMEBUSH RED ran outwards soon after the jump settling in the trail. Acrosss the top HOMEBUSH RED checked out of the hindquarters of the leader BROKEN TITLE, colliding with an improving FORCEFUL HABIT both dogs losing momentum.Once balanced FORCEFUL HABIT finished strongly for a close up fifth. MARIO SCENARIO (M&J Jopson) stood down at Christchurch GRC meeting on 28 September 2004. Rule 329. 7 days up to and including 4 October 2004.
Race 6	MAIDEN STAKES - C0 - 545	The favourite PICNIC DAY was very slow to jump settling last before improving along the rail into the back straight running on for fourth. HOMEBUSH GOLIATH ran wide around the first bend finishing near the rear. HOMEBUSH MOODY ran to a decisive lead down the back straight before being run down over the concluding stages by TOKEN KIWI who ran on strongly from midfield.
Race 7	O.G.R.C. COMMITTEE STAKES - C1 - 545	Into the first bend MULBERRY EBO, HARVARD BOY and McKENZIE LEIGH were badly checked as a result of general tightening, settling a clear last. At the end of the back straight AQUA COSTI and ANXIOUS MOMENTS came together losing ground. ANXIOUS MOMENTS finished strongly in the run home for third, with AQUA COSTI drifting out to finish near the rear. MULBERRY EBO finished strongly down the outer for fourth after his early check. HARVARD BOY went for a rails run in the home straight but was tightened inside AQUA COSTI.
Race 8	SPRINGTIME STAKES - C3 - 545	SEPTEMBER STORM checked out off the hindquarters of SHIRAZ ROYALE into the first bend running wide and checking CHALLENGER BALE. SEPTEMBER STORM drifted out to finish last with CHALLENGER BALE midfield. WINESOME KNIGHT who was handy drifted out over the concluding stages to finish second to last. BAGHDAD TOKEN (P&B Conner) left wrist sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 7 days up to and including 6 October 2004.
Race 9	OTAGO G.R.C STAKES - C4/5 - 545	ZIPPY STAR and TREACHEROUS were tightened soon after the jump settling at the rear. Into the first bend EBONY TOKEN checked off the hindquarters of CALL ME SOON losing ground but recovering well for third. Into the back straight SUPERSTITIOUS and ATTORNEY GENERAL came together losing ground. They finished near the rear. Down the back straight OLE DARK struck the hindquarters of HOMEBUSH BILL who lost ground finishing sixth. OLE DARK ran of for fourth. CALL ME SOON went to the lead into the first corner leading all the way to win well.
Race 10	OAMARU TRAINERS SPRINT - C4 - 310	CONSENT was slow to jump settling last finishing sixth. GATH BALE jumped to a clear lead from the boxes running away to win easily.
Race 11	OCTOBER SPRINT - C3 - 310	HERE GOES was slow to jump, improving through the field into the first bend before running wide into the straight finishing strongly for second. Into the first bend ACE BIRD was tightened when vying for the lead, coming back sharply on HOMEBUSH DEEJAY and ALLEGRO EXPRESS. All three never recovered finishing at the rear.
