Judicial report: Weather: Cold and wet The inquiry into the late scratching of DREAMCHASER(D Kingston) on 1 September 2004 was reconvened. After hearing the explanation as to the circumstances surrounding discovery of the injury from Mrs V Kingston, no further action was required and the charge dismissed.An inquiry under Rule 256 was opened and adjourned into the scratching of DR KINGSLEY (JR Richards) in Race 16, Canterbury Draught Six Pack.

Race 1 PEDIGREE ADVANCE STAKES - C1 - 520 The favourite RUN TO PARADISE dwelt at the start recovering along the rail into the first bend when he ran outwards losing ground. He battled over the concluding stages to finish fifth. Soon after the jump WHATA CHARM ran outwards colliding with MCKENZIE LEIGH and WHATA YA KNOW, these three losing ground and finishing at the rear.WHATA YA KNOW drifted out in the home straight to finish a distant last and was checked by the club veterinarian who found left shoulder triceps pain, recommending a 10 day stand down. AQUA COSTI (JR Goode) was a late scratching. Snow bound. Rule 256. Valid reason. No penalty. WHATA YA KNOW (PB Freeman) Rule 329. 10 days up to and including 7 October 2004.
Race 2 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER SPRINT - C0 - 295 Across the top CECILIA JUDE checked out of the hindquarters of TRINITY SAINT and ROLLEN, running wide on the bend to finish last.TRINITY STAR ran to the lead into the first bend, running away to win easily. MOVE ON MISTRESS (AD Williams) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 6 October 2004.
Race 3 SHIRLEY VETERINARY SPRINT - C1 - 295 RED KING drifted to last soon after the jump, finishing midfield.Across the top JACK THE ALIEN, HOMEBUSH SAM and CYBIL DEFENCE came together when racing midfield, filling the last three places.
Race 4 ALPHA PROCESSING STAKES - C0 - 520 The favourite TRINITY ROCKET and IDOLISE ME dwelt at the start, settling at the rear. Into the first bend MARSHELLA ran outwards from the rail tightening an improving TRINITY ROCKET, HOMEBUSH MOODY, ANDREW FLEX and BURNHAM POWER on her outer. ANDREW FLEX and TRINITY ROCKET ran on for third and fourth with a gap to the other four dogs at the rear.
Race 5 ROBBIE'S BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C0 - 295 CECILIA FAY was very slow to jump, settling last. Into the first bend MISCHIEF TRICK was tightened between MICHELLE'S BUDDY and an improving CECILIA FAY, falling as a result. CECILIA FAY and MICHELLE'S BUDDY lost all chance finishing at the rear with MISCHIEF TRICK regaining her feet and finishing a long distance behind the field. She was checked by the club veterinarian who detected no injury.Into the home straight CLAN FINNAGIN ran outwards impeding LIGNUM VITAE on his outer. A charge under Rule 322 (1) (b) was preferred against CLAN FINNAGIN and trainer HG Cairns with CLAN FINNAGIN stood down for one month up to and including 27 October 2004 . TRINITY TRANCE (T Freeman) kennel cough. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to 6 October 2004. WHATA YA THINK (BA Johnston) was a late scratching. Kennel cough. Dog presented. Race 6 ANGLER'S ARMS STAKES - C1 - 520 MARIO SCENARIO drifted to last soon after the jump finishing on late for sixth.SPARKLING LIGHTS strode to the lead into the first bend leading all the way to win well.MARIO SCENARIO was checked by the club veterinarian following the race and was found to have a right hind split toenail with a seven day stand down recommended. MARIO SCENARIO (M&J Jopson) Rule 329. 7 days up to and including 4 October 2004.
Race 7 LAMD & HAYWARD SPRINT - C1/2 - 295 HOMEBUSH BOY came up with the lids settling last. The favourite CLASSIC BOOM dwelt at the start and when improving into the first bend collided with BOSSY ACE and WHATA TEX. Soon after clearing these dogs he struck the rump of RINALDI ASTON before finishing strongly in the straight for third. WHATA TEX improved along the rail turning in to get up and win well. HOMEBUSH BOY and BOSSY ACE never improved finishing at the rear.
Race 8 BARRON'S SUPPLIES STAKES - C0 - 520 Into the first bend HOMEBUSH GOLIATH, GIVEN THE BLUES, LOUIE MCDODD and LIGHT POCKETS came together when vying for the lead, allowing TRINITY STORM to reach the lead from her outside draw.She led down the back straight trailed by LOUIS MCDODD and an improving HOMEBUSH GOLIATH, GIVEN THE BLUES and LIGHT POCKETS.Turning for home LOUIS MCDODD fought with TRINITY STORM forcing an improving HOMEBUSH GOLIATH and CECILIA PHARAOH very wide on the track with LIGHT POCKETS and GIVEN THE BLUES railing up to finish first and second. A charge under Rule 322(1(a) was preferred against LOUIS MCDODD and trainer JA McMillan with LOUIS MCDODD stood down for one month up to and including 27 October 2004. Race 9 KOLORFUL KANVAS SPRINT - C1 - 295 MULBERRY ROGUE ran away from the rail into the first bend, sustaining a check drifting out to finish last.In the home straight the favourite JESSTA LARRIKIN changed ground finishing fast for second.
Race 10 SOUTHERN TRUST STAKES - C1 - 520 Into the first bend KELLBRETT PRINCE and JEMALONG BRUISER came together losing ground finishing near the rear. RED PAREORA drifted out over the concluding stages to finish last. TE PIRITA TIGER (C Mitchell) lame left hind. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 6 October 2004. AQUA SHEILA (JR Goode) was a late scratching. Snow bound. Rule 256. Valid reason. No penalty.
Race 11 WILSONS SPORTS BAR & TAB SPRINT - C1 - 295 SAMMY GOSSIP and MULBERRY ROLL were tightened soon after the jump settling at the rear. Into the first bend TOE BONE was tightened by SAMMY GOSSIP with TOE BONE drifting out to finish a clear last. He was examined by the club veterinarian who detected nothing amiss. CLAN NOVA (HG Cairns) was a late scratching at kennelling. In season. Rule 258. 30 days up to and including 27 October 2004. AQUA FRED (JR Goode) was a late scratching. Snow bound. Rule 256. Valid reason. No penalty.
Race 12 SOUTHERN DOG ROLL SPRINT - C1/2 - 295 HOMEBUSH TEDDY dwelt at the start settling last improving to run on for third.Into the first bend POWERFAST PATCH, MEGA BYTES, YENDY'S TITLE and DR MURDOCH lost all chance when tightened, filling the last four places.
Race 13 DAVE EMERSON CONSULTANCY STAKES - C1 - 520 MICRON BALE was slow from the outside box improving wide around the first bend and into the back straight finishing midfield.ZINGERS REVENGE eased into the first bend when tightened, finishing strongly in the straight for third.BLUE MOON MAGIC went straight to the lead to win easily.
Race 14 SHOWTIME CANTERBURY SPRINT - C1 - 295 CURRENT POWER and SEASPRAY FOLLY were slow to jump settling well back.Into the first bend the favourite CECILIA LUGER was tightened by HOMEBUSH FIN when vying for the lead, drifting out to finish near the rear with SEASPRAY FOLLY and HACYON HILL who ran wide around the bend. Race 15 TRACKSIDE DINING PH 338-6145 SPRINT - C3/4 - 295 The favourite MRS PEEL was slow to jump, railing up around the bend before moving out into the centre of the track to finish on for fourth.HOMEBUSH LEO and POTENTIAL ROGUE drifted after the start finishing at the rear. DELTA SKELTER (J&D Fahey) right wrist pain on flexion. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 5 October 2004.
Race 16 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT 6 PACK - C2 - 520 TO LIVE BY and the favourite THRILLING PAUL were slow to jump, THRILLING PAUL improving wide around the first bend and down the back straight before reverting to the rail to run on for second.TO LIVE BY never improved finishing near the rear. DR KINGSLEY (JR Richards) reason for scratching and veterinary certificate yet to be advised. Rule 257. 30 days up to and including 27 October 2004.
