Race 1	RUSH HIRE MAIDEN FEATURE - C0f - 520	HELLO SAILOR was awkwardly placed behind other runners at the end of the back straight and finished well back.
Race 2	VITAPOWER DASH - C1/2 - 305	NESSIE'S CHARM ran in sharply at the start and checked SANTOFT TIGER, PITSTOCK JAZZ, GLORIA'S CHARM and LADY PRITI who were jostled for a few strides. LADY PRITI ran out soon after and checked KIWI NIKO and ALLEGRO COMET. LADY PRITI also suffered in the incident and dropped back quickly to finish in last place.
Race 3	HEAD ROAD VETERINARY STAKES - C1 - 520	WINSOME BONNIE ran out on the first corner and caused a chain reaction of movement which resulted in RUN TO PARADISE, CELESTIAL and TOKEN ANSWER being pushed very wide on the first bend. They lost several lengths and all chance of a placing. TOKEN ANSWER suffered a leg injury in the incident and was stood down for 10 days. TOKEN ANSWER Trainer A.Dugancich Rule 329 Suffered a leg injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 03.10.04.
Race 4	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES '305' - C1/2 - 305	One of the favourites DICTATION began awkwardly and settled last. He made up ground well to finish just behind the placegetters.
Race 5	DOUBLE 'S' MOTORDROME '520' - C2 - 520	THRILLING JACK was a Club scratching due to being incorrectly placed in the field at the N.Z.G.R.A. SUNSET COAST was checked when entering the back straight and lost a couple of lengths. He made up ground well to finish in 4th place. Race 6	ANDERSONS FOR MEN SPRINT - C3 - 305	SARKAMORE was scratched due to a webbing injury. ENROLLMENT, BOY RACER and THRILLING CODY jostled together for a few strides when entering the home straight. They were at the rear at the time and filled the last three places. SARKAMORE Trainer I.Moore Rule 259 Has a webbing injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 05.10.04.
Race 7	METEOR PRINTERS STAKES - C4/5 - 520	YALLAH EBONY and LITTLE BRUISER moved across on the first corner and checked CRYPTIC, LADY LEAH . LADY LEAH then moved out and pushed WINSOME VEIN, TOKEN EGO and THRILLING ZACK wide around the bend. CRYTIC appeared to make contact with the rail in the incident and dropped out to finish last. He was examined by the vet and cleared of injury.
Race 8	ASR SPRAYPAINTING '520' - C2/3 - 520	All clear.
Race 9	EXCEED DISTANCE - C1d - 645	FANTASY SHIFTER moved out on the first bend and collided with WAR TOKEN and they dropped out to the rear and stayed there. Because of the poor quality of the video film, it could not be clearly established what caused the incident.
Race 10	ELITE CATERING SPRINT - C4/5 - 305	WINSOME HERO began awkwardly and lost three lengths but then made up ground well for 5th placing. DIPPENAAR ran very wide into the home straight and finished several lengths last.
