Judicial report: Weather: Showery turning to rain. Race 1. The trainer of Kotuku Aranui (M.N.Boyd) was given a verbal warning by the Judicial Steward for not providing a catcher at the conclusion of the race.
Race 1. The trainer of Shaka Malawi (J.M.Lowen) was reminded of her responsibility to have the greyhound's race record card endorsed by a Stipendiary Steward, with the applicable stand down penalty, as soon as possible after the scratching has occurred.
Race 7. The earbrands of Overload (M.P.Mann) were rechecked by the Judicial Steward to alleviate the readability concerns expressed by the Head Kennel Steward. They were confirmed as the same as what appears on this greyhound's Certificate of Registration.
Race 9. A reweigh was granted to Achieve A Dream (D.L.Annette) under Rule 269.1.

Race 1	AUCKLAND SPRING CHAMPIONSHIP HURDLES - C1/2hf - 527	Shaka Malawi was slow out and made up ground strongly for 4th. Off The Bench came across at the start checking Kotuku Aranui, Kiwi Blue and Cawbourne Stewy. Cawbourne Stewy fell heavily at the third hurdle after jumping hesitantly early and was ordered to undergo a veterinary examination. No injuries were detected.
Race 2	STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C0 - 318	Joint Loyalty was tightened between Our Shereena and Autobe at the start and never improved thereafter finishing last. Sun Gai was tightened for room by Bedas Boy into the first turn and rallied well for 4th.
Race 3	COCA COLA DASH - C1 - 318	Bold Hove came across at the start severely checking Economy Patch, Kuri Wera and Material Girl. Dr Dal Santo almost fell on the first turn when Kuri Wera ran out quickly. Bold Hove and Dr Dal Santo came together for a stride and were then severely checked when Kuri Wera ran out again on the bend to a wider position.
Race 4	RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C0 - 527	Banjo Country was scratched due to injury at Manawatu GRC on 21.09.04. Tandias Girl began awkwardly. Tell Him Mum one of the favourites was at the rear throughout and was ordered to undergo a veterinary examination. No injuries were detected. Banjo Country (S.Gardner). Rule 329. Ex Manawatu GRC 21.09.04.
Race 5	TINT-A-CAR DASH - C1 - 318	Grasscutter Bob was a late scratching due to suffering laceration of a toe in the kennels. Rokeby King and Opening Time jostled for a few strides after the start and again on the first turn. Waterlea Lass made contact with the running rail on the first bend for no reason, never improved thereafter, and was a long last throughout. A veterinary examination was ordered and minor spiking on the greyhound's hind leg was found but no stand down warranted. When questioned about the performance, M.Gardner, the trainers representative on-course, stated that he could not offer any explanation as to why the run had generally been noticeably inferior to the last six starts which had included a first, two seconds and a third, albeit at other tracks. Mr Gardner intimated that the greyhound may be given a spell from racing in the near future. Grasscutter Bob (R.P.O'Regan). Late scratching due to laceration of a toe in the kennels. Race 6	CAROL'S TAB DASH - C1/2 - 318	Miss Jade was scratched due to injury. Bold Gypsy and Poetical came together momentarily nearing the first turn with Bold Gypsy losing two lengths. Miss Jade (K.Braithwaite). Rule 329. Ex Waikato GRC 22.09.04
Race 7	'SWIFT APPEAL' STAKES - C1 - 527	Justa Toff was slow to begin. Stallone jumped awkwardly, collided with Linnymay and stumbled. Stallone then ran out after the start checking Splicklez which made ground to be in midfield, drifted slightly, moved up again and was checked by Harvard World which was moving to a rail position.
Race 8	JIMBOS PETFOOD DASH - C1/2 - 318	No Invitation was scratched due to injury. Sand Dancer clipped the heels of Ina Tizzy on the first turn, lost three lengths and checked Graphics in the backwash. Sand Dancer came off the rail on the home turn and checked Graphics again. No Invitation (S.P.Clark). Rule 259. Ex Waikato GRC 22.09.04.
Race 9	'IDOL APPEAL' STAKES - C1 - 527	Harvard Boy was checked off the heels of Super Tod on the first turn. Flying Tuskey was checked off the heels of Oxey on the first bend. Never Home ran out on the first turn carting Achieve A Dream wide for a few strides. Harvard Boy moved to a rails position on the final bend and tightened Never Home which lost three lengths.
Race 10	'HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM' DASH - C4/5 - 318	Stock Broker, Wild Seattle, Tessa's Delight and Pure Honcho jostled each other for 15 mtrs shortly after the start. Pure Honcho was wide throughout.
Race 11	'THRILLING SAM' STAKES - C2/3 - 527	Campese Bale ran out on the first turn and severely checked Astro Doll which never recovered and finished last. Just The Don was slow out then commenced a strong run on the outer and fought on well for 3rd.
Race 12	'RASMAH REASON' STAKES - C4/5 - 527	Pilli Appeal faltered shortly after the start and virtually pulled up on the first turn. A veterinary examination was ordered and soreness detected resulting in a 10 day stand down under Rule 329. Orana City ran off the rail quickly on the first turn severely checking Trendy Rhode and Bibiana Bale in the process. Shining Comet ran out on the home turn clipping the heels of Rial To Reason which was checked. Pilli Appeal (K.Walsh). Injured during race. Rule 329. 10 days up to and including 03.10.04. (Race record card to be endorsed).
