Judicial report: Weather: Fine Race 3. Lady Barbie (F.D.Farmer) was an automatic late scratching due to being 1.8kg over weight compared to its previous race start. The greyhound was not eligible for a reweigh under the 28 day rule therefore the trainer incurred a $100 fine under Rule 269.3.
Handlers are reminded that they must stand to the rear of the starting boxes once their greyhound has been boxed and not to the side or front of the boxes. Race Starter's will be reminded of their duties and authority under Rule 302.5.

Race 1 WAIKATO MAIDEN FINAL - C0 - 375 Swift Bazooka was scratched due to injury. Dusty's Edition was tightened between Des'ree and Economy Patch on the first turn and lost 3 lengths. Sun Gai twisted on the home turn , lost balance and slightly inconvenienced Heza Scallywag. Swift Bazooka (G.N.Pomeroy).Left hind toe swelling.Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 7 days up to and including 25.09.04. Scarbrough (D.Donlan). Had qualified for this C0 Maiden Final at the previous meeting on 07.09.04. Withdrawn from todays final on 16.09.04.due to injury (advised to the Waikato GRC Secretary) and prior to the box draw. No Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.3. 30 days up to and including 15.10.04.
Race 2 ADDINGTON STAKES - C3 - 457 Mr Bell began well then had heels clipped by Kellbrett Jemma on the first turn and was always at the rear after.
Race 3 WANGANUI STAKES - C1 - 457 Lady Barbie was a late scratching due to unacceptable weight variance. Judyanne Bale drifted early to a clear last then commenced a determined run along the rail, was hampered on the home turn and finished on strongly in the straight for 3rd. Whilst vying for the lead on the first turn Bus Painter was bumped by Bozo Fulton when Justa Toff pushed through on the rail. Bus Painter dropped back quickly and checked Velvot Revolver in the process. Lady Barbie ( F.D.Farmer). Late scratching due to 1.8kg weight variance. Rule 269.3 imposed. No stand down penalty applies.
Race 4 MANAWATU STAKES - C2 - 457 Wild Gunnadoo began well then was tightened by Rawhiti Rogue on the bend and drifted out to finish 7th. Rhani Reason (B&L Craik).Had qualified for this C1 Final at the previous meeting on 07.09.04. Withdrawn from todays final prior to the box draw as a result of Rule 258.3. 30 days up to and including 12.10.04. being imposed at the AGRC race meeting held on 15.09.04.
Race 5 SOUTHLAND SPRINT - C2 - 375 No Invitation was scratched due to injury. Homebush Zara clipped the heels of Hostile Girlie on the first turn and lost 2 lengths and was then forced wide by Storm Edition. Dictation hesitated at start then raced up along rail and held his ground for 4th. No Invitation (S.P.Clark). Torn nail off toe on left foreleg. Vet certificate supplied. Rule 259.10 days up to and including 30.09.04.(Race record card to be endorsed).
Race 6 IMPROVERS FINAL - C1f - 457 Miss Chantelle began well then ran out on the first turn checking Raise Your Glass. Tartare Sauce twisted then bumped Overload on the bend and lost 4 lengths, never recovering to finish last.
Race 7 DUNEDIN DASH - C4 - 375 Le Mans Song began well, drifted and never improved thereafter, finishing last. Willandra Bale began fast to lead, came across on the bend then drifted checking Parra Power and Winsome Mate in the process.
Race 8 WAIRARAPA STAKES - C2 - 457 Four Square missed the start, ran up along the rail and maintained a determined run for 3rd. Monsieur Jon went to early lead, was headed then drifted out to finish a disappointing last. When questioned regarding this greyhounds poor performance, the trainer, M.Earley, was unable to provide any reason for it. Hostile Arch ran out on the first turn. Real Life ran very wide on the first turn when at the rear.
Race 9 WELLINGTON STAKES - C4 - 457 Ballibeast faltered after 30 mtrs and lost 2 lengths.He then clipped the heels of Romberg Reason entering the first turn, hit the running rail as a result and finished last. Romberg Reason was back early, raced through on the rail to be handy on the first turn then was checked by Brooklyn Ash which was tried to move to a wider position and clipping the heels of Paula Missile in the process. The general tightening which occurred involved Brooklyn Ash, Paula Missile, Just Curly and Kane Bale with Just Curly suffering the worst check, losing 3 lengths.
Race 10 MANUKAU STAKES - C5 - 457 Ozzie Shiraz was scratched due to being injured at Wanganui GRC on 17.09.04. Cosmic Eclipse was slightly inconvenienced by Lindale Express moving inward on the first turn. Ozzie Shiraz (W.Steele). Scratched due injury / stand down ex Wanganui 17.09.04.
