Judicial report: Weather: Fine SHOWTIME COAL Trainer B.Hood did not defend a charge under Rule 322 (1) (b) and SHOWTIME COAL was stood down for one month to and including 21.10.04 for failing to persue throughout. To trial under Rule 179 before next race start.
QUEEN ROWLEY. Trainer H.Bond did not defend a charge under Rule 322 (1) (b) and QUEEN ROWLEY was stood down for one month to and including 21.10.04 for failing to persue throughout. To trial under Rule 179 before the next race start.
SUNSET SAINT. Trainer J.Chatfield elected to admit a breach of Rule 322 (1) (b) and SUNSET SAINT was stood down for one month to and including 21.10.04. and is required to trial under Rule 179 before next race start.
An inquiry was opened under Rule 134 and adjourned to a date to be fixed after Trainer W.J.Hodgson refused permission for an autopsy to be carried out under Rule 138 (9) on his Greyhound PAREWANUI after the dog died in the kennels.
The explanation from Handler E.Dugancich as to why he did not catch a Greyhound afterRace 9 was accepted.

Race 1	WELCOME STAKES - C0 - 297	SHOWTIME COAL was handy into the first corner but pulled up quickly and dropped back to last and stayed there. The Trainer was shown the various video films of the race and elected not to defend a charge of failing to persue and SHOWTIME COAL was stood down for one month under Rule 322 (1) (b) and is required to requalify. AGGIE'S STASH completed the race but collapsed and died at the lure. The dog was sent to Massey for a post mortem and the results will be notified to the N.Z.G.R.A. SHOWTIME COAL Trainer B.Hood Rule 322 (1) (b) Failed to persue the lure throughout and stood down for one month to and including 21.10.04. Required to Trial under Rule 179. AGGIES STASH Trainer B.Rangiuia Rule 329 Died after racing.
Race 2	PURINA PERFORMANCE - C0 - 505	HOMEBUSH EDWARD, FIRST LADY and PEMBROKE ROSE ran very wide on the first bend and lost several lengths and all chance. FIRST LADY made contact with the outside fence in the incident and was examined by the Veterinarian and cleared of any injuries.
Race 3	ALBION TAVERN - C0 - 297	The hot favourite SUNSET SAINT led into the bend but then eased and dropped back several places. He then rallied again to make up ground and finished a close 3rd. The Trainer was shown video film of the race and elected to admit a breach of Rule 322 (1) (b) had occurred when SUNSET SAINT had failed to persue throughout the race. A one month stand down was imposed under the rule and SUNSET SAINT will be required to requalify. The second placed dog QUEEN ROWLEY was observed to move out in the straight and hindered SUNSET SAINT on its outside while also turning its head out towards SUNSET SAINT who finished a nose behind QUEEN ROWLEY. The Trainer of QUEEN ROWLEY elected not to defend a charge under Rule 322 (1) (b) and the dog was stood down for one month and is required to requaify. Race 4	AWAPUNI HOTEL - C0 - 297	The 3rd placed SUPER CORA was observed to be galloped on and severely checked as the runners approached the lure after the race and she suffered a fractured foreleg and was euthanased by the Clubs Veterinarian. SUPER CORA Trainer J.Manihera Rule 329 Suffered a fractured foreleg and humanely euthanased.
Race 5	PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOGRAPHER - C0 - 505	KARAOKE PHIL was scratched due to a toe injury. SISTER STAMP, BANJO COUNTRY and MILLUNA GIRL jostled together for a few strides soon after the start. Soon after, PERFECT HAZE, HOMEBUSH CHRIS and HELLO SAILOR also came together for a few strides and lost a little ground. PERFECT HAZE and HOMEBUSH CHRIS then collided again entering the back straight and dropped back a couple of places. BANJO COUNTRY suffered a slight leg injury during the race and was stood down for 7 days. KARAOKE PHIL Trainer I.Wate Rule 259 Suffering from a toe injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 28.09.04. BANJO COUNTRY Trainer S.Gardner Rule 329 Suffered a leg injury and stood down for 7 days to and including 27.09.04.
Race 6	ALEX MCKAY STAKES - C1 - 297	KING OF DREAMS ran very wide on the bend and then collided with SON OF SARABI entering the home straight and they filled the last two places.
Race 7	CLARENDON HOTEL WAVERLEY - C1 - 297	DUSTY ACE moved in on the first corner and checked CATERING QUEEN and TIMTAGEL STAR who lost all chance. KURI WERA moved out soon after and pushed WINSOME LEEDS wide on the bend.
Race 8	AWAPUNI LIQUORLAND - C1 - 505	DURAN DURAN ran onto the heels of MAVRIKI ENYA on the first corner, ran out sharply and checked HOMEBUSH DIVA who fell. HOMEBUSH DIVA then ran back towards the approaching field and the race was stopped on the home turn and had to be abandoned. HOMEBUSH DIVA was uninjured
Race 9	WHO LET THE DOGS OUTS - C1 - 297	ASTRO VIEW, YUKON LANE and RHEA REASON were checked at the end of the back straight and ASTRO VIEW fell. The dog was examined by the Veterinarian and stood down for 7 days with bruising to a shoulder. ASTRO VIEW Trainer M.Goodwin Rule 329 Fell and suffered bruising to a shoulder. Stood down for 7 days to and including 27.09.04.
Race 10	CATCH THE ACTION - C1 - 297	PAREWANUI was late scratching after being found to have died in the kennels from unknown causes. The dogs Trainer W.J.Hodgson would not agree to the request that PAREWANUI be taken to Massey for a post mortem as he stated it was his families pet dog and he wished to take it home for burial immediately. An inquiry into this matter was opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed. PAREWANUI Trainer W.J.Hodgson Died in the Kennels. PAREWANUI Trainer W.J.Hodgson Rule 329 Died in the kennel block from unknown causes.
Race 11	KERB AND CONCRETE LTD 06-3555-284 - C1 - 505	BUSTER O'RILEY was a late scratching when found to be suffering from gastroenteritis. PAWS A MOMENT was scratched due to a hind leg injury. The favourite ROSIE'S DAUGHTER was forced to race wide throughout after drawing box 8 and she finished mid-field. PAWS A MOMENT Trainer S.Gardner Rule 259 Has an injury to the left hind leg and was presented and stood down for 7 days to and including 27.09.04. BUSTER O'RILEY Trainer K.Hanover Rule 259 A late scratching suffering from gastroenteritis and stood down for 7 days to and including 27.09.04.
Race 12	SUPERIOR KIBBLE - C1 - 505	REBEL IZMIR was slow away and tailed the field for most of the race and finished last.
Race 13	WANGANUI CAR CENTRE - C1 - 297	REDWOOD NEV moved out entering the back straight and badly checked FRAU DAGMA and ARDISHAH who lost all chance and finished at the rear.
Race 14	COURTESY FORD LEVIN - C1 - 297	KNIGHT TROOPER moved out from the start and jostled ALI PHOENIX and LORD FLAME for some distance in the back straight.
Race 15	MANAWATU SECURITY SERVICES - C2 - 297	All clear.
Race 16	ECKERSLEY MOTORS LEVIN - C2/3 - 505	JETSET TOKEN was checked on the first corner and went back onto HOMEBUSH JET and RAYNA REASON and they filled the last three places.
Race 17	OXFORD HOTEL LEVIN - C3/4 - 297	All clear.
Race 18	WINSOME LARRIKIN SERVICE DONATED BY JOHN AND SUE GOMMANS - C3 - 297	DARCY'S DRAWER was scratched due to a gracilus muscle injury. I'VE GOT FLAIR and STYLISH SUSIE were checked in the race to the first corner and they never recovered and finished well back. DARCY'S DRAWER Trainer G&S Hayden-Holmes Rule 259 Has a gracilus muscle injury and stood down for 14 days to and including 04.10.04.
Race 19	MANAWATU SOUND SERVICE - C2 - 505	SEASPRAY BEST was scratched Ex Wanganui on 17.09.04 TEMPEST REIGN and PHAEDRA ran out wide on the bend and covered extra ground ENROLLMENT checked off the heels of HURRICANE FOG in the back straight and lost several lengths and all chance. SEASPRAY BEST Trainer A.Cobain Ex Wanganui on 17.09.04.
