Wanganui Greyhound Racing Club

Hatrick Raceway ON FRIDAY 17 Sep 2004

Weather:
Track: Good Firm
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Overcast and Windy. Race 1. A request by trainer D.Schofield to box his greyhound Trendy Time first at the start was approved based on my observation of boxing manners at a recent AGRC race meeting but made subject to post race assessment as to whether permanent approval would be granted. Following the race, the starter, T.McCracken stated that the greyhound had been difficult to box and consequently the race record papers of Trendy Time were endorsed to allow a 'Box First' status.
Race 2. Chantilly Bale (A.C.Roberts) was a late scratching due to the late arrival on course of the trainer who had experienced delays with the Inter- Island Ferry crossing as a result of a chemical spillage onboard. Due to the extenuating circumstances no penalty was imposed on Mr Roberts or his greyhound.
Race 7. Tempest Reign ( J.A. Cleaver) was reluctant to undergo the pre kennelling Veterinary examination and became difficult to handle and vicious when touched by the officiating Vet. With perseverance the examination was completed and no injuries or soreness were detected. This greyhound has shown these examination tendencies in the past and they appear to have had no effect on his racing performances however the trainer will need to ensure that the examinations can always take place to an extent that satisfies the Vet conducting them.
Mr. G.Darby , the handler, advised that the greyhound is now in his care and that the NZGRA has been advised, with the required change of ownership documentation etc to be completed within the required time frame.
