Judicial report: Weather: Fine An inquiry was opened and adjourned in respect of the late scratching of DREAMCHASER (D Kingston) a starter in Race 7, the Wilson's Sports Bar Sprint..
An inquiry was opened and adjourned in respect of the scratching of GIVEN TITLE (RD Blackburn) a starter in Race 6, the Bowl and Jack Stakes.
Further inquiries are to be made into the circumstances of both scratchings.

Race 1 BARRONS SUPPLIES STAKES - C2 - 520 TO LIVE BY and HOMEBUSH OPAL came together soon after the jump, TO LIVE BY running on to finish second with HOMEBUSH OPAL last. WAG jumped to a clear lead from the boxes leading all the way to win easily.
Race 2 ROBBIES BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C2 - 295 MELTING POT was slow to jump, improving into the first bend resulting in he, HOMEBUSH LEGEND, SYDNEY'S LEGEND, HOMEBUSH BRIAN and DICTATION sustaining severe checks. They finished some distance from the placegetters.
Race 3 ALPHA PROCESSING LTD SPRINT - C4/5 - 295 After an even dispatch the favourite GILBERT BALE drove to the lead into the first bend checking EFFERVESCENCE on his inner who came back on a trailing ALLEGRO EXPRESS, GRAND MOVER and SOUTHBROOK STAR. ALLEGRO EXPRESS ran on for fourth with the other three finishing well back.
Race 4 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING STAKES - C1 - 520 THRILLING PAUL settled mid field after the jump before railing along the back straight to take the lead running away to win well. Into the first corner MICRON GALE checked out off the hindquarters of the leader HONKY TONK LORD, taking LIL ENEGISER and CLAN EBONY wide. MICRON BALE finished strongly in the straight to deadheat for second with the other two finishing at the rear.
Race 5 DAVE EMERSON CONSULTANCY SPRINT - C3 - 295 Into the first bend HOMEBUSH SHADOW and HOMEBUSH FRANK were checked when tightened between BOY RACER and DR MURDOCH. They never recovered finishing at the rear.
Race 6 BOWL AND JACK STAKES - C2/3 - 520 Into the first bend HERE'S FREDDIE ran outwards taking KERCHAK and TUDOR QUEEN wide, all three dogs losing all chance. MORPHEUS (JF Allen) deceased. AQUA SHEILA (JR Goode) starter in Race 10. GIVEN TITLE (RD Blackburn). Inquiry opened under Rule 256.
Race 7 WILSONS SPORTS BAR SPRINT - C2 - 295 CONSENT lost his footing on jumping from the boxes losing all chance. DREAMCHASER (D Kingston) was a late scratching at kennelling when found with right hind split webbing. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 14 September 2004.
Race 8 GARRARDS HORSE'N HOUND STAKES - C4/5 - 520 After an even start the favourite FASHION THIEF drove to the lead, leading all the way to hang on and win. LINDALE EXPRESS ran wide around the first bend losing ground finishing amongst the tail enders.
Race 9 LAMB & HAYWARD STAKES - C4/5 - 295 The favourite ETTINGER BALE ran outwards soon after the jump before driving towards the lead into the first bend when he was struck from behind when crossing HOMEBUSH KAYCEE. ETTINGER BALE fell heavily with HOMEBUSH KAYCEE also falling. HOMEBUSH KAYCEE regained her feet and finished the event, no injuries being detected. ETTINGER BALE did not regain his feet and due to serious leg injuries he was euthanised on humane grounds. GARLAND GREEN (PB Freeman) kennel cough and diarrhoea. Rule 257. 30 days up to and including 26 September 2004. ETTINGER BALE (AC Roberts) euthanised on humane grounds due to serious injuries sustained.
Race 10 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C2/3 - 520 All clear. SHIRAZ ROYALE (PB Freeman) kennel cough and diarrhoea. Rule 257. 30 days up to and including 26 September 2004.
