Judicial report: Weather: Fine Mr Barry McGhie was relieving Judge for the meeting.
Mr Phil Green was relieving Judicial Steward for the meeting.
The photo finish camera failed spasmodically during the meeting and the TAB Trackside camera was used to obtain an accurate result. The AGRC has now taken steps to ensure that a backup hire camera is available for all meetings effective 03.09.04.
Race 1. The trainer of Youarda Man (J.Nixon) was questioned regarding the racing manners of this greyhound with a view to ensuring a more reliable performance in the future. The racing manners of this greyhound will be closely monitored in the immediate
future.
Race 3.The trainer of Fancy Joe (D.Schofield) was questioned regarding the performance of this greyhound and its tendency to run off on each bend. Mr Schofield stated that the greyhound was used to running on one bend only tracks in Australia where it was previously trained and he felt that it might be better suited to a larger track like Cambridge. A post race vet examination did reveal sandburns and spiking however no stand down was recommended. Mr Schofield's explanation was accepted and future performances will be monitored.

Race 1 CATERING PROFESSIONALS DASH - C0 - 318 Youarda Man was slow out then checked off the heels of Sun Gai and always towards rear after. Winged Delight ran off rail to wider position on the bend, checking and forcing Queen Rowley wide.
Race 2 COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 Dr Adonis was slow out, rails run, moved wider turn then clipped heels of Waingaro Lassie and lost all chance finishing last. Opening Time began well, drifted and then received check when Waingaro Lassie came back on him on first turn.
Race 3 RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C1 - 527 Sally's Delight was tightened between Fossil and Full Force Gale at start and then ran on well for 4th. Fossil went to clear lead early then was run down by Super Tod close to finish line. Stallone was hampered by Miss Speedy Web running wide on the first bend. Full Force Gale clipped the heels of Te Puke Gold on the first turn and never improved thereafter finishing 7th.
Race 4 COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 Dr Dal Santo was slow, raced up quickly near the rail then was checked from behind by Don Paulie on the bend and rallied well for 3rd. Bold Hove was slow out and lost several lengths, got rails run and held ground for 5th. Emoyeni, Johnny Tulloch, Overload, Christopher Bale and She's Home Soon were involved in general tightening ater 50 mtrs with all being hampered, especially Overload which lost ground quickly and finished 7th.
Race 5 COCA-COLA SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C1q - 318 Heat 1 Dissipate was scratched due to injury. Flash Tyler and King Of Dreams were slow out with Flash Tyler drifting throughout the race and running very wide on the bend to finish last. A veterinary examination was ordered for Flash Tyler due to the poor performance which revealed a torn dew claw. Dissipate (G.Calverley). Injury. No vet certificate supplied. Rule 259. 30 days up to and including 29.09.04.
Race 6 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C2 - 527 Just The Don was slow out, pushed wide by Bannister Lad on the first turn and then commenced a very wide run. The effort told in the straight fading out to finish 7th. Fancy Joe began slowly, tried to move out quickly on the first turn checking Bannister Lad then raced up to be handy on the rails and ran off again on the home turn forcing Chestnut Bale wide. A veterinary examination was ordered for Fancy Joe. Wild Gunnadoo led early then drifted quickly on the bend, fading out to finish last.
Race 7 TINT-A-CAR DASH - C2 - 318 Storm Edition was slow out, ran up quickly through field and fought on well for 3rd. Lady Dolly clipped the heels of Lucky Lipinski after 60mtrs and lost its balance, never recovering to finish 7th. Miss Jade ran very wide on the first turn checking and forcing Robust Rock to the outside of the track.
Race 8 ROYAL WOLF CONTAINERS DASH - C2 - 318 Poetical began well then had heels clipped by Peter Hand and again later when May Well Be tried to move to a wider position.All three received checks during these incidents but Peter Hand and May Well Be both recovered well to finish 2nd and 4th respectively. Splicklez ran very wide on the home turn after checking off the heels of May Well Be.
Race 9 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C3 - 527 Shining Comet missed the start and at rear early then was checked slightly by Sunset Coast before commencing a strong run through the field to finish 2nd. Sunset Coast was slow out , switched to rail and held ground for 5th. Lika Cruise was wide early, drifted then made some ground but always at rear.
Race 10 JIMBO'S PETFOOD DASH - C4/5 - 318 Let Me was scratched due to injury. Little Toot began awkwardly then recovered well to lead and fought on well for 3rd. Miss Tracey Lee was handy early then forced wide by Wild Seattle running out on the first turn and never recovered finishing 7th. High Pockets began well, clipped the heels of Blue Paragon on the first turn then ran wide and hampered Miss Tracey Lee eventually finishing at the rear. A veterinary examination was ordered for Vegie Bill which had finished 4th. Let Me (A.Cleaver ). Web lacerations. Vet certificate provided. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 08.09.04. Little Toot (K.E. Lomas). Dislocated back toe. Rule 329.14 days up to and including 13.09.04. Vegie Bill (B & L Craik). Fractured left forearm.Humanely put down.
Race 11 STREETS ICE CREAM SIX PACK STAKES - C4/5 - 527 Bingo Appeal began well then was severely checked and pushed wide when Rasmah Reason was tightened between Romberg Reason and Pilli Appeal due to Romberg Reason trying to move to a wider postion. Pilli Appeal was also checked in this incident and in turn was pushed onto Bingo Appeal which lost all chance and finished 3 lengths last. Follow Me Frosty began quickly and went to a clear lead, was challenged on the home turn and faded in the straight to finish 5th.
