Judicial report: Weather: Overcast and cold. Trainer NH Odgers fined $100.00 under Rule 269.3 in respect of SHINING SKOOT weighing in 1.7kgs under his last race start weight.

Race 1 OLYMPICS STAKES - C1 - 520 Into the first bend BOMBER BELLE checked out off the hindquarters of BOUND FOR CHINA as that dog drove to the lead, coming in contact with WINSOME FEVER and DOLLY POACHER, both dogs being forced wide as was a trailing TE PIRITA TIGER. Into the back straight BOMBER BELLE ran outwards again impeding the same dogs. WINSOME FEVER ran on well for a distant third with the others finishing amongst the tail enders.
Race 2 TABLE TENNIS SPRINT - C1 - 295 Entering the first bend HOMEBUSH SPOT ran outwards tightening GWINGANA TOKEN and WEAR THE FERN on his outer, these dogs losing ground. HOMEBUSH SPOT finished strongly in the straight for fourth with the other two finishing at the rear. Soon after this incident JACK THE ALIEN struck the hindquarters of ANGRY'S WISH both dogs losing ground finishing mid field.
Race 3 BOXING SPRINT - C0 - 295 Soon after the jump LAST ORDERS ran outwards checking PAULAS AWESOME, MOVE ON MISTRESS and PLAY ME. LAST ORDERS ran on well for third with the others filling the last three places.
Race 4 SWIMMING STAKES - C0 - 520 UNDER TIME and I'M LAUGHING NOW were slow to jump from the boxes. Into the first bend BANKSIDE GO GO drove down towards the rail tightening WILD BILL, BURNHAM POWER, STATELY APPEAL and RED PAREORA. WILD BILL recovered quickly raging up outside the leader in the run home to win with the other dogs finishing at the rear. UNDER TIME who endeavored to improve across the top ran wide into the home straight losing further ground.
Race 5 WATER POLO SPRINT - C1 - 295 Into the first bend OZARK'S GUMBOOT, MULBERRY FLASH , FEARLESS MAGOO and LYNNY LOU came together losing all chance, filling the last four places. MULBERRY FLASH was examined after the race by the club veterinarian and found to have a dislocated right hind toe with a stand down of thirty days recommended. MULBERRY FLASH (KJ Cassidy) Rule 329. 30 days up to and including 22 September 2004.
Race 6 YACHTING STAKES - C0 - 520 PICNIC DAY was slow to jump settling last however improved along the rail around the first bend finishing on for second. The favourite HONKY TONK LORD drove to the lead on jumping leading all the way to win easily.
Race 7 GYMNASTICS SPRINT - C0 - 295 SOLITARY LIGHT was slow to jump settling well back. Into the first bend MARDI COUNTY, COMPACT CONNIE and MRS DOO came together when racing at the rear. MARDI COUNTY ran on late for fourth with the other two finishing at the rear. Soon after the jump LIGNUM VITAE ran inwards colliding with MRS DOO before coming in contact with the favourite PITCAIRN ACE, eventually finishing sixth. Trainer LH Anderton was shown the race film and advised to improve the dogs racing manners.
Race 8 TRIATHLON STAKES - C1 - 520 In this five dog field CECELIA LUGER jumped to a clear lead holding out the challenge of the short priced favourite ASTRA NOMICOOL over the concluding stages to win well. ULTIMATE MOVER (MM Grant) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 26 August 2004. SHINING SKOOT (NH Odgers) was a late scratching at kennelling when found 1.7kgs under his last race start weight. Trainer fined $100.00. HYPO ASSASSIN (BA Johnston) snowed in and unable to travel to meeting. Rule 257. No penalty.
Race 9 BEACH VOLLEYBALL SPRINT - C1 - 295 RED KING was slow to jump from the inside box however recovered well into the first bend. HOMEBUSH SAM drifted soon after the jump settling near the rear. Into the first bend SMART SPICE tightened HOMEBUSH SAM and WATTA FLYER on her inner, these dogs losing ground and filling the last three places. BRIGHT ECHO (D Kingston) lame left foreleg. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 31 August 2004.
Race 10 HOCKEY STAKES - C1 - 520 The favourite THRILLING PAUL was slow to jump from the outside box however improved in the first corner and down the back before railing inside the leaders turning in, running away to win impressively. ICE FERN was squeezed between LIFES A GAS and THRILLING PAUL in the approach to the first bend, settling last and never improving. MULBERRY CHELLE (KJ Cassidy) right gracilus pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 28 August 2004.
Race 11 ATHLETICS SPRINT - C0 - 295 The favourite BLONDE REBEL jumped to a clear lead from the outside box leading all the way to win easily. Soon after the jump MULBERRY MAN, HOT SPOT, LADY OUTING, MISCHIEF TRICK and GRACE HAVOC jostled in tightened quarters losing ground. MULBERRY MAN ran on for third with the others finishing at the rear. HOMEBUSH QUEEN (JT McInerney) deceased. WITCH WENDY (M&J Hill) in season. Rule 258. 30 days up to and including 19 September 2004.
Race 12 VOLLEYBALL STAKES - C1 - 520 The favourite POWERFAST PATCH drove to the lead into the first bend leading until the home straight before compunding, finishing last. ROSZEL BALE settled near the reasr improving down the back straight before driving between dogs turning in to run away and win well. FLY BYE ANGEL (JV Busch) deceased. McKENZIE LEIGH (MM Grant) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 27 August 2004. RAILROAD TRUMP (MJ Flipp) left hock pain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Ruile 259. 10 days up to and including 1 September 2004.
Race 13 ATHENS SPRINT - C2 - 295 CONSENT was very slow to jump losing 3 lengths. Into the first bend DREAMCHASER drove down towards the rail from her outside draw tightening HOMEBUSH LEGEND, JACK RHODE, TOKEN TALK and BOSSY ACE on her inner. These dogs lost ground with an improving CONSENT running wide to avoid the skirmish.
Race 14 SHOOTING STAKES - C0 - 520 OZARK'S ANGEL and BURNHAM THUNDER jostled for a number of strides after the jump losing ground. FRENCH SPARROW ran wide around the first bend losing ground. All three dogs finished at the rear. TOKEN KIWI (RS Parker) right hind toenail split. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 31 August 2004. MULBERRY EBO (KJ Cassidy) scouring and temperature. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 24 August 2004. HOMEBUSH SUMMER (JT McInerney) deceased.
Race 15 ROWING SPRINT - C1 - 295 UP A NOTCH was slow to jump from the inside box , but recovered along the rail into the first bend running on for third. Soon after the jump WEE SWEETIE ran outwards as the favourite THIRTY A WEEK drove down to the rail from his outside draw, resulting in WEE SWEETIE checking out off THIRTY A WEEKS hindquarters with checks to RUFF STUFF and RUN GEORGIE RUN. THIRTY A WEEK ran on for second with the others at the rear.
Race 16 BASKETBALL STAKES - C1 - 520 ZINGERS REVENGE was slow to jump from the outside box. Into the first bend LOCHINVAR FIRE moved out from the rails striking the hindquarters of WHATA CHARM both dogs losing ground and forcing a trailing ZINGERS REVENGE wide. Soon after this, CLAN EBONY and HOMEBUSH RED collided both losing ground. LOCHINVAR FIRE ran on for a distant third with the others at the rear.
Race 17 SOCCER SPRINT - C1 - 295 HOMEBUSH BOY missed the jump by 4 lengths but finished on well for fifth. FAST AND FIT jumped to a clear lead from the boxes leasding leading all the way before being run down in the last stride by HOMEBUSH BRIAN.
Race 18 CYCLING SPRINT - C1 - 295 MULBERRY BEAN was slow to jump settling at the rear. Soon after the jump SEASPRAY FOLLY eased when tightened between dogs. Into the first bend GREEN MILE moved down to the rail tightening CURRENT POWER, the favourite HOMEBUSH DASHER and IVORY DE LUXE these dogs losing all chance finishing at the rear.
Race 19 WEIGHT LIFTING STAKES - C3/4 - 520 OLE DARK and SHIRAZ ROYALE came together around the first bend settling well back, running on over the concluding stages to finish close up in midfield. Short of the winning post OLE DARK ran out of racing room checking out off the third placegetter DR ABERNATHY.
Race 20 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C2 - 520 At the end of the back straight DR NOAKES and TUKI AQUA came together losing ground finishing well back.
